Wasserman Schultz: Its Such Baloney to Say Stimulus Didnt Work

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who believes pensions have not in fact burdened state budgets, made the bold assertion: “The mantra that the Recovery (stimulus) Act did not work is such baloney.”

The Florida Congresswoman made the statement on Fox News Monday in defense of President Obama’s $447 billion American Jobs Act.

Schultz, who thinks Obama “really knocked it out of the park” with his latest jobs plan, said the act will be paid for by the “wealthy and more fortunate” who, according to Schultz, are “not paying their fair share now:”

“At the end of the day, we have to make sure that we don’t continue to deepen our problems by laying off more teachers, firefighters and police officers. We have to make sure we put construction workers back to work like the American Jobs Plan would do by investing in the infrastructure we need, and we have to make sure that this is paid for by folks who are not paying their fair share now, making sure that the wealthy and more fortunate step up to the plate, and that’s how we’re going to get this done.”

      Yea, as per Pelosi, unemployment checks help the economy so when everyone is out of work and getting an unemployment check from the government, the economy will be booming.

      What Wasserman-Shultz meant to say was, “If Obama is re-elected, we’ll all be eating bologna sandwiches at every meal – if we can still afford bologna.” :-/

      This mantra of “fair share” is getting so old. Let’s ask Washerwoman Shoes, her cohorts, the Hollywood “elite,” the lame steam media, and the ad nauseum quoted Warren Buffett if they do not have a cadre of accountants and tax attorneys that get them every single deduction possible or plausible(written into law by the committee headed by that paragon of virtue and fairness–Charlie Rangel). If they feel that the rich, of which by the way they are part, do not pay their “fair share,” let’s make them aware of the branch of the IRS in West Virginia where they can donate money to pay down the debt. (In 2010, that office collected a whopping $3 million.) Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that some member of Congress is not diverting that money to the general revenue stream. Their other mantra of “climate change,” led by the boorish Gore is just as hypocritical. If Al is so concerned about the environment, why is he still flying hither, thither, and yon in a private. Time for them to stop chanting, “do as I say, not as I do,” and begin to walk the walk or sit down and shut up.

      I have news for the readers of TheBlaze: Next year DWS’s district will realigned along with the other Florida districts for the US House of Representives. Also the State Senate and State House of Rep. will be realigned. Last November two Florida referendums passed by the voters mandates all districts have to in normal square shape in regard to populations size. See “Common Sense” by Glenn Beck.

      However for a GOP candidate to win her seat we will need a candidate that will represent and campaign for the voters that make up the GLBT community and also can persuade a turn out of Cuban voters in the Southeast region of Florida. Regardless of how her district is redrawn. With the social isssues involved with immigration and gay rights/marriage it will be hard for any GOP candidate to win this seat. Florida Law prohibits gay marrige by having the language of marriage definded as betweeen a man and a women in the Florida Constitution (through an amendment. passed by the voter through a state referendum) so this candidates views on gay marriage in other states could be a political issue with these voters.

      The irony is that she represents South Florida. As in Hollywood, FL. Hollywood just held a referendum yesterday regarding retiree benefits for firefighters and police officers. How can Debbie deny that union pensions aren’t hurting when in her own backyard people were looking at a 25% property tax increase. Thanks to the voters who turned out in Hollywood yesterday, the unions have been held back and property taxes will only increase 11%. I suggest she spend more time on planet Hollywood FL and less time in that alien world, Washington DC

      noone needs to pay a “fair share”. if YOU make money YOU should keep 100% of it.
      literally EVERYTHING can be privatized. militias existed before the federal military.
      it’s OUR money, if we FEEL like giving some of our money to others for goods and/or services, we will, otherwise quit begging and stealing. you’re acting like dogs.

      by definition “paying fair share” doesn’t exist because there are people not paying anything… for one person to pay more than another = unfair. for people to pay when others don’t = unfair. there is no such thing as fair share with payments unless everyone pays the exact same amount of money, which is not what they are talking about. they think fair share means, taking others belongings.

      TIFOSA , we don’t need the CBO or any other organization to tell us how the stimulus worked. We can see the results with our own eyes. Unemployment went up after it was passed. If you think that’s a success then you must love the 16% unemployment amongst the black community. The very people dems claim to love(at least every election).       JustQuit – Corporations don’t pay tax. They just make the price of what they sell higher by the amount of the tax. So the consumer of the corporation’s product or service is actually paying the tax. The corporation just collects it from the consumer and hands it over to the government. So who pays corporate tax? You do. So if GE gets a tax break that means you got a tax break. If they did away with corporate tax altogether, you’d get a bigger tax break.

    First state pensions are paid by tax payers. State governments do no generate income (other the lotteries) so it is a huge burden to states. Second, the first stimulus promised , 8% unemployment. How’s that working out? This is just a transfer of tax money to pay off Dem poltical fund raisers. The goal should not be to generate jobs but to innovate and create careers. Careers last a lifetime. Thirdly, how many wealthy Americans were “just fortunate” when they started their business. They took chances with time and money to succeed and now you feel the right to tax them even more? Isn’t there an AMT? Why is it only police man, fire fighters and teachers that we need to save?
