A Michigan television news reporter got a big shock Thursday morning when a stray cat climbed up her back while she was speaking live on TV.
Nicole DiDonato of WXMI-TV in Grand Rapids, Mich. was teasing her upcoming report when a claw appeared on her shoulder. Her eyes grew wide as the cat hoisted itself up into a perch. A very surprised DiDonato finished her appearance — cat still on her shoulder — before kneeling to the ground so it could get down.

Posted on July 7, 2012 at 9:46amHa ha! Very funny. Makes me think of my cat Binx. He died last year fat, happy, and at the ripe old age of 16. When I would come home from work late at night he would sit in the street (we lived on a very small, dead end street with almost no traffic) as I parked my car. He would then come up to say ‘hi’ and then walk me into the house. From there he would go about his nighttime business outside and I would go into bed. One summer, someones domesticated rabbit followed Binx home. The rabbit even followed him into the house the next morning. He ended up living with us for about six months until he moved on. He never left the cats side. Binx repeatedly tried to take the rabbit out but, to no avail. He is missed.

Posted on July 7, 2012 at 2:59amThat cat had to have been with a family for some amount of time. Cats not attached or comfortable with people will be much more cautious. As someone who grew up rescuing stray cats/kittens we had all types of personalities in our family cats….those that were closer to being feral were very hard to get them adjusted to us (took a long time).
Report Post »Could be kitty was hungry…people = food.

Posted on July 7, 2012 at 6:45amI agree. We have a rescue kitty. The momma had climbed into the drop ceiling at my husband’s job to have her litter, and then either abandoned it, couldn’t get back to it, or died. One of the guys took them home before their eyes were open. We got one when she was 6 months old. It took the WHOLE day for her to come out from behind the dryer. And still, I’m the only one she really likes, just tolerating everyone else, because I was home with her the whole time. She’s a little over 2 now. We don’t know how many generations were ferral, but she still has a little in her. She’s only taken to ONE person who has come to our house, preferring to hide when we have company. And he didn’t like cats.

I know how that is… I have an 11 year old mix breed that somehow ended up with some wildcat blood in her… (Driver took a young bobcat they hit on the road to a vet, it was pregnant, so they gave the kittens to a shelter… Didn’t think they were allowed to but ohh well… Shelter wanted her put down because they were afraid she would be dangerous.. But I was able to convince them to let me adopt her…) but I took her in when she was maybe 8 weeks old, and ever since then she HATES anyone but me…. She follows me like a dog and comes when called no matter what… She is friendly enough with other people and animals (as long as they don’t try and touch her…), but you can tell she just feels kinda odd around others (since she is nearly twice the size of other adult cats).
But for all of her cuteness, she still retains some of that feral wild side that makes it seem like she in on guard and ready to strike at all times… Cats are quite interesting creatures….

Posted on July 7, 2012 at 10:18pmI adopted a black and white tuxedo Maine Coon from an animal rescue group-or perhaps she adopted me almost 6 years ago. My adorable furr ball is the most gentle, friendly and loving cat I’ve ever seen. It’s like she “knows” she was adopted and given a loving, safe and secure home with plenty of good healthy food, a water fountain and toys galore. I call her my little “velcro-kitty” as she is always laying on me, laying beside me or stretched across my feet. She certainly isn’t aloof like many felines. It doesn‘t matter if I’m gone 10 minutes or 10 hours she greets me at the door like I’m the most prized and loved pet mom which somehow just melts the days stress away. I wish more “people” were like my cat~the world would be a wonderful place. God Bless all of you who have adopted a pet-child, opened your heart and give them a warm loving safe home.

Posted on July 7, 2012 at 1:23amNotice how the publicity-hungry cat jumped on the shoulder where he could most easily reach the mike. A sad commentary on these media-frenzied days where to have your brief moment of fame on camera is more important than chasing down mice. Well sure, why chase mice when you can apply for mice stamps and get free goverment tuna? The world is going to hell.
I envy the reporter, though. You know, going around and having ***** jump all over you wherever you go. I do love love cats.

Posted on July 6, 2012 at 2:54pmThere’s nothing so great as the love, honesty and loyalty of a cat. They have those assets in abundance where humans can’t compare. When JROOKS was created, God forgot, or neglected, to give him a heart. That’s why he spews so much vitriol on every sited he posts on. What a sad, sorry excuse for a human being. I’ll take a cat any day over something like him.

Posted on July 6, 2012 at 1:56pmI love the story. The cat must have been adopted before until it was let go. She was looking for someone to adopt and love her.
Last summer, I was sitting at the backyard chair enjoying the sun. Suddenly a young beautiful cat jumped on my lap and started purring at me. I put her down and she exhibited several entertainment tricks like rolling around her body, turning around and around my legs, and opened her belly wide as she basked on the summer sun. She was so cute. I looked around the blocks looking for the owner, but no one was found. I wanted to adopt her. My black cat named Baby, was so jealous and won’t let her come in. I called the Humane Society, gave them $100 to find someone to adopt the cat. The Humane Society told me that many will adopt her because she was very young and pretty.

Posted on July 6, 2012 at 1:26pmThe feline (cat) family is God’s most perfect creation…from the lordly Lion to the family cat. The day the Lord created the Cat, He was in an extremely artistic, aesthetic and perfectionist mood, with a soupcon of humor when it came to the cats’ personality. And then God made His biggest mistake….He made us….!

Posted on July 6, 2012 at 4:06pmSpeaking of His Creation, perhaps YOU consider your creation a mistake, but I don’t consider mine to be one. Nor those of most of the people I know.

Posted on July 6, 2012 at 2:32amLOL, having several cats ourselves and knowing how they act, this was funny. Definitely curious and playful. Living in a rural area with open woods on three sides and a large field in the front they are really handy. They do a great job at keeping the population of field mice and ground squirrels in check. And they are always entertaining.

Posted on July 6, 2012 at 2:19pmAfter I recovered from having to say goodbye to my 18-year-old cat, I went to a local shelter to look for a new love. After taking a number of them to the little private room so you can see if you like each other (and getting no response whatsoever), I went into this separate plexiglass room where there were a few cats just hanging out. I really liked one of them (he licked my nose when I held him), but petted the others, too. When I turned around, the nose licker was waiting for me in my purse — lol! He’s laying at my side right now. Yep, the best matches are when the cat chooses you!!!
