Report Post »H. Cain! Questions aren’t asked fairly… some get many questions and others have to make themselves know. Don’t like not seeing how others respond to responder.

Posted on October 11, 2011 at 8:46pmWhen they ask about Obama’s Job Act who will mention these facts?
On page 133 of President Obama’s “The American Job Act”, Sec.376. states;
“Abrogation of State Immunity- A State shall not be immune under the 11th Amendment to the
Constitution from a suit brought in a Federal court of competent jurisdiction for a violation of this Act.
A State’s receipt or use of Federal financial assistance for any program or activity of a State shall constitute a waiver of sovereign immunity, under the 11th Amendment to the Constitution or otherwise, to a suit brought by an employee or applicant of that program or activity under this Act for a remedy authorized under Section 375(c) of this Act.”
And;
Article. I. Section. 7.
Report Post »Clause 1: All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.
So what gives Obama the power to introduce a Bill that raises revenues?

Posted on October 11, 2011 at 9:19pmMonk….yes I agree with you on this jobs act (which isn”t a jobs act). This is a bill to take away the sovereignty of the states. Among other things.
Report Post »Don’t you just love watching them all while the others are speaking. It appears the media wants us to vote for Romney just like they did McCain. Let’s drop the Mc and and investigate Cain for Pres. Too soon to decide though.

Report Post »A good question you bring up…
I think the spending clause in the constitution gives the federal government the right to abrogate the state immunity. It is also unnecessary language because there are legal loopholes that allow suits brought against the state.
To answer your other question…
In article II of the Constitution there is language that allows the executive branch the right to create legislation for congress’ approval. The president cannot pass legislation, but can write laws and get them passed by congress.

Posted on October 11, 2011 at 10:48pmI think Gingrich has some of the best ansewrs. Unfortunately, his past record and political alliances or friendships will hurt him. I would not vote for Romney, he’s a JFK era democrat. Sure, he’s better than Obama, but he has flip flopped and changed his positions too many times. He doesn’t have enough principles and a firm basis on Law and rights for me to seriously vote for him and entrust him in political office. PLUS, he said he thinks Ben Bernanke is doing a good job, and that he would reappoint him! I don’t think so. Cain is an honest candidate, with good intentions, but I believe his solutions are temporary and will not fix the root of the problems we have today. I want to repeal the Income Tax and have no national sales tax. PLUS, he just said, in this last debate, that we should keep the Federal Reserve and that he would reappoint Alan Greenspan! Cain also supports the Patriot Act. Sure, the Act might have seem reasonable in a time when we were all scared and looking for anyhting to help us feel safer, but I don’t trust Obama or any other administration with the amount of Power bestowed on the federal Government by this arbitrary Act.

Posted on October 11, 2011 at 9:32pmPaul isn’t on the same page as Cain, nor is he in the same book. Paul is the Libertarian leader, that’s where he belongs, not the Republican Party.
Report Post »Grandmadar
Posted on October 11, 2011 at 10:09pm@Poverty….agreed. Paul has very good intentions but even if he were perfect he wouldn’t win. I just don’t think he is electable. He looks quite goofy when he speaks too. The other candidates had smirks when he was speaking.
Perry is out. He can’t debate and is wishy washy. He probably didn’t test well either when in school.
Yes, I would like to see Newt debate Obama. It will never happen though. Seriously doubt if b o will ever debate anyone. Especially with his low ratings and temporary “self-esteem” drop. He even screws up the teleprompter or vice/versa.

Posted on October 11, 2011 at 9:20pmThe dems want Romney to be the Republican nominee. He is very similar to Obama. When the media is going after him, I knew that he was not the man for the job. I want someone the media doesn’t like. Thank I know that we’ve hit a raw nerve with those currently running the system.
Report Post »Grandmadar
Posted on October 11, 2011 at 9:29pmYes, Romney is not being attacked. Now that should tell us a whole lot right there! The scary part of this upcoming election is whether all the conservatives will unite behind a single candidate. I don’t know if it could happen. I don’t dislike Ron Paul, I just know he will never make it and he has Lots of Support and they are diehards. If he won the primary I would vote for him but not sold out enough to vote in the primary for him.
Report Post »Cain is showing lots of promise. Not sure how he would transition our current tax code to his 999 plan. And besides…The pres doesn’t legislate and Congress would have to introduce this plan and vote on it. I could see Cain strong arming them and that kinda reminds me of “you know who”.

At least on this debate we are not seeing the entire debate between Perry and Romney. It’s better than most of the others in my opinion.
