I guess we do the same thing as with stupid Democrats re-elect them term after term after term…

If these people don’t realize that there is a double standard in this country, and that anything a Republican does will be scrutinized to the n’th degree, then they are too stupid to serve effectively in the Congress or Senate. Get rid of them and bring in some smarter candidates.

The more important question should be…..

“What do we do with Constitutional GOP candidates”?

I think we need to insist that they become Democrats so they will blend in.

You can destroy the Political Party System by… every 100 people vote for a Supporter… every 100 Supperters vote for an Elector… every 100 Electors vote for a Candidate…

Soon corporations will be running our elected offices because corporation are now considered people.Citizens united has nullified and ruined any chance for your honest citizen to run for office. We are all slaves to lobbyist.

You should at least give both sides of that coin. If the Citizens United ruling had not gone down the way that it did, then the union political machine would have had no legal justification. You can’t bemoan the CU ruling without acknowledgement of the silent party in the suit…organized labor.

i understand the anger at the whole ‘corporations are people’ idea. However, realize the this problem exists because the government taxes corporations as if they were people….Remember, taxation without representation

As long as the government continues to tax corporations, the corporations should be treated as groups of individuals

We are in a Transition Period…. where the Democrats have moved from being Worker Supporters to SOCIALISTS… and the GOP is stuck in being Business Supporters, rather than moving to Defenders of America/Capitalism/Constitution.

    CHANGE THE GOP PLATFORM!

    FLIP THE SCRIPT…
Potentials who wish to run for offices should first be screened by
GOP Party, BEFOREHAND. ( no surprises)

I.E. does their past & record align with Party Values, in particular,
    those currently within Gov’t/Congress, etc.

IF NOT – like any outsider who can & is free to RUN -
the Party can also put forth a candidate(s) from within OR outside gov’t
who has been thoroughly VETTED – No skeletons, not prone to gaffs,
A PERSON THE PARTY & PEOPLE CAN SUPPORT.

As we see, during times of election – & equally as important at other times,
certain seats are CRITICAL for GOP win.

In the event something happens that may result or upset the intended
goal – a pre-screened, qualified candidate waits in the wings,
rather than unable to recover or an inevitable defeat.

What this might help to do is -
Promote Rep/Conservative Values – a higher standard of candidates.
IF a potential candidate is given a PASS – (if shady involvements or history is ignored)
the Party is likely to suffer the consequence.
The potential must have met the Education, Moral Character
and a clean & fitting record comparable to the position.
To those who don’t meet criteria -THEY NEED NOT APPLY. (can’t pass the Test)

It might attract/inspire/encourage worthy potentials into political office -
and over time – WEED OUT the dead-weights and crooks.

Yeah, I know – what a “dream” huh?

Under your scenario, not a single TEA party would have made the ticket. The establishment Republicans would “screen” the out. Is that what you really want?

@ eyestosee…etc. No TEA party candidates would have made it under your proposal: The establishment Republicans would have “screened” them out. Is that what you really want?

      @ FRIEDCLOUDS

Maybe – BUT – SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE WOULD HAVE!

And, using that same method –
every DEM seat- from President down, would be empty.

You are making the case the republicans are more facists than anything else. More proof of why we need to disband the republican party and start a real tea party

Here’s an idea, STOP the character assassination of every good, honest, candidate who tries to run for office. Make public service attractive to the best people. It’s such a cesspool. People of character avoid it and that’s a shame.

Have them do opponent research. Have them go to blue states to seed grassroots groups. Put them in charge of this or that website. Keep them active and near the front lines, but don’t alienate them; everyone says something stupid now and then – including me.

I owe a most sincere apology to KIDCHARLEMAGNE and posted it here –

Most don’t see stupid and RINO as the same thing. See exhibit A…Romney/Ryan ticket and rabid GOP support thereof.

In fact, most of the Republicans would see “stupid” as being a constitutionalist. In that case, we should ostracize them.

Thank you for this. While I am not often on the side of the GOP, I do believe that the public is best served by men and women of reason and good sense whichever side of the political spectrum they may find themselves.
