Here is the first image of Colorado shooting suspect James Holmes appearing in court. As had been speculated, the 24-year-old donned the orange Joker-like hair some had reported over the weekend:
Throughout the hearing — which was not his official arraignment — Holmes appeared lethargic, even closing his eyes as if he was falling asleep. At times, he appeared confused, contorting his face, opening his eyes wide, and looking down.

Holmes has been held in solitary confinement at an Arapahoe County detention facility since Friday. He is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, and he could also face additional counts of aggravated assault and weapons violations.
Authorities have disclosed that he is refusing to cooperate and that it could take months to learn what prompted the horrific attack on midnight moviegoers at a Batman film premiere.
Eighteenth Judicial District Attorney Carol Chambers said Monday her office is considering pursuing the death penalty against Holmes. She said a decision will be made in consultation with victims’ families:
Holmes has been assigned a public defender, and Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said the former doctoral student has “lawyered up” since his arrest early Friday, following the shooting at an Aurora theater that left 12 dead and 58 wounded, some critically.

He remains possessed and there is no government cure for him. How he got into this condition is a mystery, but it probably started with making the Joker of Batman his hero. That part of the movie always sickened me. It was satanic.

The insanity defense will not hold water he will break and the jury will see him for why he is.
I can’t believe the death penalty is only being “considered” at this point. The death penally was instituted for cases jet like this one. Kill him quickly and get him out of the media.

If we are subject to nothing more than evil winds that strike at random, then no one is ever truly guilty and free will is a lie… an illusion. So we are so base and so foolish that the biggest lie we ever embrace is that we have free will?
People who present with delusional orders (not just the murderous ones) are tragic. What’s truly horrible is when some “well-meaning” person convinces them the voices and images ARE real and they are subject to evil spirits. Wow. You just damned a person to a hell on earth by insisting they adhere to a disease model that didn‘t and couldn’t recognize germ theory. Yeah. You’re a real humanitarian.

I’m not so certain Holmes was arrested at an OWS protest. If he was and he gave his real name there would be an arrest record. So far all they can find on him is a traffic ticket for speeding.
It could be that he was taken into custody temporarily, never asked for ID, never booked and released later. I would think that the Police would try to gather at lease the basic ID of people taken into custody and that info is available to them.

As for the Batman movie, what would have happened if he had shot up the G.I.Joe theater? Would people say he thought he was Cobra?
Oh, and not to mention, costumers are dangerous because he showed up wearing normal clothes, then put on tac gear (vest, gas mask, helmet) before shooting the place up. Um, that’s not a costume. That is tactical combat gear in case someone were carrying.
This guy is just nuts. Nothing about Batman, Joker, or whatever. Quit drawing conclusions not supported by the evidence. I have a room full of Star Wars stuff, but that doesn‘t mean I think I’m a Jedi. He is just mentally disturbed and charged with the murder and attempted murder of a theater full of innocents. Don’t hype it or follow the lame-stream media in trying to show this guy an out for insanity.

He is just the most public case right now but there are 100s of violent acts each day committed by people influenced by what they see coming out of media these days. Even liberals admitted that our culture was violent because the likes of Road Runner and Coyote cartoons back in the 70s.

I‘m not saying he’s the Joker.I’m saying the fantasies of the Batman film mythos (and it’s impact on pop culture) may have affected the unstable Holmes and he’s become his own “joker” as it were. Of course without Holmes speaking up I’m only offering conjecture..but is it wrong to attempt to understand this?
Or perhaps I’ve merely offended the college nerd crowd who revere Star Wars (and related pop culture/comic book icons) and they’re just sensitive to being associated with a lunatic who took their own fantasies too far?

His parents obviously had a clue their son was mentally ill. “You got the right house” when the police called. The guy is the age when schizophrenia first rears its ugly head. Parents probably in denial or thought he would grow out of it.
This guy is loony tunes. Anyone seeing that oddly colored hair and THOSE EYES would cross the street if they saw him coming or leave the room if he came in.

You need to go to their web site and see what she meant or really stated. ABC has opologized for their stupidity, however, they seem to be repeated offenders, and will continue to do so, which is typical of the left wing media. When I see a person like this Holmes, I think about how in our society we euthanize a dog for for simply biting someone.

Many claiming that the Joker actually had green hair, or other excuses. I as well as others pointed out that we should wait for his mug shots for a true verification. But, it was theater employees who pointed out that as he entered through the front where he had apparently purchased his ticket, it was HE that claimed he was the Joker. AVENGERK, I agree with you, but my short response above was a message for others here to stop splitting hairs literally, over the color that this nut made his hair. We may never know exactly what evil he allowed to take his mind, or why he did to himself and others because of his fantasies. I have over a number of years been involved with taking into custody a number of people who without a doubt were nuttier than squirrel turds. Believe me, you just cannot apply normal reasoning to this guy considering why he chose red for his hair as opposed to green. Regardless, he must have been in that Batman fantasy mode. I still think that some of the indoctrination he received from his professors has a lot to do with this. My son often complains of some of his instructors, and professors who never teach their courses, that I am paying for, but day after day just rant on their political leanings. Drives him nuts. Likely to drive the weak minded even more nuts.

To say “his hair’s not green, he’s not the joker” is to oversimplify the complexity of his deranged fantasies (this is of course on the premise that Holmes was indeed acting out some kind of Joker-esque fantasy/reality). He’s become his own “joker” at this point, not Ledger’s Joker. His own manifestation of the “agent of chaos”. Without Holmes speaking..this is all conjecture but the coincidences all seem to line up.

Nothing worse than people talking to each other like they are in thier own living rooms while you’re trying to watch. I may even wait for the Blu-ray to come out. I have a nice theater room at the casa and really enjoy watching there more than the cinaplex these days.

The non-police photo that Holmes used to attract women on a website shows the SAME weird eyes.
He has “glittering” eyes with too much white showing. Loughner eyes (guy that shot Giffords)
