Obama and Chinese President Hu Talk Human Rights, Economy During Presser

WASHINGTON (The Blaze/AP) — President Barack Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao sparred over human rights on Wednesday, with Obama declaring that Americans believe such rights are among “core views” and Hu declaring China had made progress but “a lot still needs to be done” to improve his country’s record.
The concern over human rights was balanced against U.S. happiness about what Obama said was $45 billion in expected new export sale for the U.S. because of business deals with China cemented by the summit meeting of the world’s two largest economies. Obama said those deals would help create 235,000 U.S. jobs.
“I absolutely believe China’s peaceful rise is good for the world, and it’s good for America,” Obama said, addressing a major concern in Beijing that the United States wants to see China’s growth constrained.
“We welcome China’s rights. We just want to make sure that (its) rise occurs in a way that reinforces international norms, international rules, and enhances security and peace as opposed to it being a source of conflict either in the region or around the world.”
Chinese President Hu Jintao (hoo jihn-tow) admitted “a lot” still needs to be done to improve human rights in China.
Hu said China is a developing country with an enormous population facing challenges in economic and social developments. He said human rights must be viewed under those circumstances.
Still, Hu says China will continue efforts to “improve the lives of our people and promote democracy and rule of law.”
His remarks Wednesday came moments after President Barack Obama said the U.S. would push for freedom of speech, assembly and religion for the Chinese people.
Obama says certain rights are universal and “transcend culture.” He says China’s human rights policies have been a source of tension between the two governments.

Posted on January 19, 2011 at 6:48pm235,000 new jobs? Oh that sounds wonderful! Now what about the other 21 plus million that are out of work, jobs lost to a declining manufacturing base? What about the real figure of 15+% unemployment that keeps getting buried under the various adjustments to the figures. Where are all these undocumented aliens working? Oh, I forgot, Americans won’t do those jobs! Funny how real life facts and figures never add up to the imagination of those in charge.
The answer to unemployment is simple. Create a business environment that makes it more profitable for business to operate within the US and less profitable for them to take their manufacturing overseas. Businesses and their stockholders are in it for the money. Their survival and ours depend on their success.
Fact, the US is becoming a service based economy. Currently US businesses find it more cost effective to operate call service centers off shore rather than in the US. Just try getting a technical answer for a computer problem. Our manufacturing base is already gone, now our service base is leaving also. With our manufacturing base gone and our technical and service base leaving, what’s left? Sorry grandkids we were too busy being self absorbed to save anything for you. So just eat your Soylent Green and be happy.

Obama is going to cut some slack for Beijing, and let them soon gointo the New York market and start buying up loads of gold. It’s a back door deal, private calls to US Regulatory authorities and china can start buying. Instructions to keep a lid on it and pressure will be put on brokers in New York to do so. This is being done so the YUAN will be revalued higher. I CAN NOT BACK THIS UP AND SO FAR IT IS HEAR SAY. China wants to buy lots of gold to value their currency and become the World Reserve Currency.
