C’mon…who’s excited for Shark Week?!
To up the ante even further, the Discovery Channel teamed up with Atlanta’s Georgia Aquarium to provide a 24-hour livestream from inside their shark tank, the largest in the world.
From Wired:
The exhibit, which was designed to house whale sharks, holds 6.3 million gallons of seawater, enough to fill nine and a half Olympic swimming pools. It is home to seven different types of sharks, including enormous whale sharks, vicious-looking sand tiger sharks, and bottom-dwelling masters of disguise called spotted wobbegongs. It also holds several other species of fish and four manta rays, the only manta rays ever to live in a U.S. aquarium.

Nightmare fuel!

Posted on July 17, 2011 at 8:53pmI must admit. It is considerably more captivating than watching dead sharks.

Posted on July 17, 2011 at 8:52pmif you click on multiview and look at the other camera view… It looks like there is a dead Saw Shark in the tank.

Posted on July 17, 2011 at 9:29pmHe’s not dead, he is just pining for the ocean. Magnificent plumage the Norean blue.
Report Post »UrsaMajor
Posted on July 18, 2011 at 2:33amHe’s not “pining”! He’s passed on! This saw shark is no more! He has ceased to be! He’s expired and gone to meet his maker!
He’s a stiff!
Berift of life, he rests in peace! He’s run down the curtain and joined the bloody Choir Invisible! He’s off the twig and on the slab! All statements to the effects of this saw shark are still a going concern and, from now on, innoperative!
THIS is an EX-SAW SHARK!

Posted on July 17, 2011 at 5:36pmWow, they have a whale shark and a manta ray.
One thing I don’t understand: How do they keep the larger fish from eating the smaller ones?

Posted on July 17, 2011 at 6:12pmLOL!!! I thought the same thing……….Pelosi/ Reid/ Obama/Soros et al: Devouring humanity. Devouring the wealth of the nation. devouring the future of FREE future generations.
Report Post »The tank reminds me of the US. people aimlessly wondering about minding their business, while the sharks Crime Inc., amongst them are about to strike and devour them. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME…………before they try to strike the coup de grace into the heart of the FREE WOLRD.
Only a matter of time.

Posted on July 17, 2011 at 4:01pmBelieve it or not, right in the middle of flyover America, in Tulsa, Oklahoma of all places, is a large aquarium with a shark tank with glass underwater tunnels where you can see sharks swim right over your head, and see them only inches away. Completely awesome.

Posted on July 17, 2011 at 4:27pmI went to that aquarium when I was living in Tulsa. Had to go to Kellyville training school for Schlumberger. Didn’t they have a small pond for petting sand sharks and skates?

Posted on July 17, 2011 at 3:34pmI thought this was lame. Then I clicked on the video, put it up full screen, and it is fascinating. I was watching for about a minute and an evil looking shark swam by close to the camera. Then I saw a ray up in the distant, gracefully “flapping” its fins/wings.
