Watch This 6′6, 265lb NFL Player Tackle a Cowboys Cheerleader to the Ground

Dallas Cowboys Jason Witten Tackles Cheerleader Melissa Kellerman

A 6′6, 265 pound Dallas Cowboys tight end might have mistaken one of his team’s cheerleaders for an opponent during a Thanksgiving day triumph against the Miami Dolphins when he tackled the unsuspecting cheerleader to the ground.

During the game on Thursday, Jason Witten caught a pass from Tony Romo but as was tacked by the Dolphin’s defender as he reached the far sideline. On his way down, Witten swiftly grabbed the Cowboy’s Melissa Kellerman, bringing her down with him.

Kellerman seemed unharmed in the scuffle, and emerged with a surprised smile on her face.

Watch the outrageous video below:

There are some funny comments, but equating a football tackle with child abuse or obama only shows ignorance.

It is sad that so many here, with A.D.D. or NO knowledge of actually playing football, have a need to comment.
Take more than 7 seconds to review the play and you MIGHT see the reality.
      The tackle took place INBOUNDS.
The TE had his right arm pinned to his body and he was trying to free it to brace his fall.
      He is not a hero.
She was in the wrong place at the wrong time, facing the wrong way, it is that simple.
The TE never got his hand close to her B**B, his hand was on her back, and even if he had, I am sure he was more concerned about bracing his fall than to grab her.
Some of you need to get out of your basements and stop playing with your blowup dolls while watching porn.

He was trying to save her from a knee injury, in my opinion. He grabs her right side, twists her around and twists his body around so he falls on his side and back and so she lands on him. Had he fallen naturally with the tackle by the dolphin defending, he could have landed to her side and rolled up on her knee, like what happens to OLinemen all the time resulting in ACL/MCL tears. He is a nice guy for what he did. Good job Witten!

What an idiot who wrote this story. A Tight End doesn’t tackle an opponent. A Tight End plays offense and GETS tackled. In fact, he was getting tackled WAY OUT OF BOUNDS by the cheating Miami player when this happened. If the Miami player hadn’t been comitting a penalty (which wasn’t called), the cheerleader would never have been in danger.

Blaze, if you are going to write a story about football, how about you get someone who has seen at least ONE football game in their life? What a bunch of buffoons.

      @ BlazingBlaze
Agree! Thanks for your great explanation!

      Cheating on one side…Miami…
resulted in a Dallas hero and downed Cowboys Cheerleader on the other.
She could have really been hurt, but Jason Witten protected her.

NFL is becoming so violent these days,
      with so many intentional infractions….
it takes some fun out of the game.
Was it yesterday a player was expelled for stomping
      on another player’s head and arm…? !

@BB You are way too tight on your football. Like who cares about some football game vs the problems this country faces. IT IS ONLY A FOOTBALL GAME. Switch to Decaf.
I do agree that the player was quick thinking and realized that the cheerleader could suffer some injury.

The NFL is becoming violent…..ROFL….They’ve outlawed just about every violent act in the NFL. Players like Nitchke & Butkus, today, would be suspended forever. Of course most of what they did was still considered legal. This was in the days before quarterbacks wore panties & before it was a penalty to look at them the wrong way.

What’s wrong with this country, men running around grabbing attractive women in short shorts. Imagine how uncomfortable that made all the gay football players feel.

Honestly, it looked intentional. How stupid was I? I played hockey. No cheerleaders for us to ‘check’.

You “promise” me based on a TV commercial? Seriously? My comment was a joke, @$$hat, so relax; you’re not that important. Watch the video carefully. It is obvious that he reached out and grabbed her. I looks to me like he was trying to minimize the severity of the hit that he knew was unavoidable, possibly by trying to move her out of the way before she got totally pummeled.
