‘We’re Getting Our Taxes Back’: UK TV Reporter Confronts Looters in ‘Lovely’ Neighborhood

A journalist caught in the middle of the looting in his own neighborhood outside of London, asked the rioters some questions.
“Why are you doing this?” Mark Scott of Sky News asked a young woman, he later describes as particularly non-threatening in an interview with Fox News.
“We’re getting our taxes back,” she responded. His questions as to whether she and the group of rioters around her were proud of their actions went unanswered.
An interview with Scott and the footage of him following a group of young looters around what he said is usually a lovely community is in this video.

Talk to your neighbors, try to put a basic plan in place for these situations. The police already can’t handle normal everyday crime let alone this. Secondly I believe you are talking about the pilgrims.They fled England for religous freedom. That meant they wanted the right to worship as they felt free to. And yes, they believed in the 10 commandments and one of them is thou shalt not covet. There is no Christian denomination that does’,t believe in the 10 commandments. It’s the way they worshiped God and lived their beliefs that they wanted to be free to do.
It is not un American to believe in following the law and respecting others rights to own property and be happy All that coveting does is make one jealous and angry which leads to misery.

Thank you for stating the obvious: if you receive something without any investment of yourself in gaining it, you will feel no remorse for destroying it!!!! And where do they think the money is going to come from to rebuild? From their taxes! What is a country to do with a generation (or two) of citizens who think this way? And Great Britain should be ashamed of the way it’s handling the thugs and rioting. At some point you have to put the hammer down on these goons. Coddling them while trying to show the world how “civilized” you are while the city burns makes them look ineffectual and weak (and prolongs the looting because the looters don’t fear the police.) This is something I will fight for and I hope you will too. This is short so please read it all the way through and then forward. You will be glad you did.
The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971…before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc.
Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land…all because of public pressure.
I’m asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.
In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.
Congressional Reform Act of 2011
1. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
