‘We Feel Like Having Sex’: U.K. Teen Receives Contraception Implant Without Parental Consent at School

U.K. Parents Not Consulted Before Teen Daughters Receive Contraception Implant

Nexplanon is a form of birth control implanted into the woman's arm.

At least one in 33 teens in Southampton in the U.K. has received a contraception implant without parental consent through a program sponsored by the government designed to cut back on teen pregnancies in the area.

The Telegraph reported yesterday that the mother of a 13-year-old felt not being asked by the school before the birth control was inserted into her daughter’s arm was “morally wrong”, although she does not disagree with the birth control in general. Here’s what the mother, who wished to remain anonymous, said at the time:

“I feel really angry about this.

“I agree that teaching teenagers about sexual health and contraception is very important but this is a step too far.

“To perform a minor surgical procedure on school grounds, without parents knowing is morally wrong.

“I cannot understand how this is allowed to happen.

“Teenagers have the right to protect themselves and she did the right thing by seeking advice but to not be checked after such a procedure is totally wrong.

“I have spoken to a lot of parents at the school and they were horrified to find out this was happening.

“As parents we want to protect our children and I feel that has been taken away from me.”

Today, the teen has spoken about why she didn‘t get her mother’s permission and alludes to the fact that officials didn’t necessarily ask if her mother had consented in the first place:

“I think it has really helped me because if I am with my boyfriend and we feel like having sex, I have the peace of mind knowing that I am OK.

“At the time I didn‘t want to tell my mum because there are some things you don’t want to talk to your parents about.

“But I am glad I have told her now. I‘d rather tell her I’ve had an implant than tell her I was pregnant.

“If I was told I couldn’t have the implant unless I told my mum, I probably would have gone away to think about it and would have eventually got my mum involved.

“But I think there should be the option to have full confidentiality because some children just can’t speak to their parents.

“I do get where my mum is coming from and maybe it shouldn’t be done in school.”

The Telegraph reports that it was up to schools to inform parents about the offering of the Nexplanon device as part of the initiative by the National Health Service. Here is what a NHS spokesperson said about the issue:

“We have a responsibility to provide a confidential service that ensures young people have access to professional advice and information as well as contraception, if appropriate.

“Full assessments are undertaken to ensure young people are mature enough to understand their choices and are safe.

“School settings offer an opportunity to engage young people in sexual health and relationship information, as part of their overall health and well-being.”

The implant consists of a four-centimeter tube inserted into the female’s arm. The birth control releases hormones to prevent ovulation and only has to be replaced every three years. Nexplanon’s website also states that the hormone thins the lining of the womb so if an egg were to be fertilized, it would not readily implant.

A NHS Solent spokesperson said that the teen’s medical history and her “capacity to consent to the procedure” was reviewed before the implant was inserted.

This war against parental rights is a blatant example of a social-workers philosophy which is now worldwide: “Your children are not yours, they are the property of the State.”

You may wish to trace this corruption to national socialist Germany, which is the basis of all UKUSA social programs.

Or you could go a little further back in history to 1920′s Russia. You see the fascists and communists are one in the same. Government control.

The communists always try to paint the fascist as evil, that’s true they are, but coming from a communist it’s like the pot calling the kettle black.

Children are not the “property” of the state or the parents. They are individuals with free will and rights. However, I do agree that parental consent should have been involved as the child mentioned was below the UK age of sexual consent, which is 16 years of age. Even though children should have the right to make decisions about their body, when they are below the age of 16 their parents or caretakers are legally responsible for their well-being, (although do not “own” them) and so parents should have been consulted.

@ Kuranes So let me ask you, since you think teens at 16 have “free will and rights” despite their parents telling them “no” would you be perfectly fine with them drinking alcohol then getting behind the wheel? Their parents told them no and the government tells them no but they are individuals with free will right? Sorry but at age 16 they are not capable of handling intimate physical relationships much less 13 as demonstrated by the girl who said she “thinks” she should have consulted her mom beforehand.

Hospitals need to have signed consent for any one who needs surgery or from parents when minors are involved, what in the hell does a school have the right to do this without parental consent. I think I would be filling a lawsuit and I would make it quite large to send a clear message this type of behavior is unacceptable. I don’t care if you are trying to prevent teenage pregnancy, it is not your call and it is not your right to do so.

In the USA they can remove a child from school, regardless of the child’s age, take them to get an abortion and never tell the parents. So much for parent consent.

Remember, we’re up against a malevolent entity here, not people who play by the rules we do.

But since this took place in England, and the people have no rights then the mother has nothing to do but complain to a socialist system that doesn’t really care what she thinks anyway. She now has a sexually active THIRTEEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER who will do as she pleases without concern whether her Mum approves or not. Her Mum evidently is ok with this little girl screwing whomever she pleases, so who really cares at all????

It’s sickly ingenious if you think about it:

A brand new AIDS can be introduced, Muslim don’t interracial breed then just let the older folk die out in 30 years due to health care and old age… tada! Time to place that temple in place of the palace.

But nah… No one would EVER do that…

Push the parent out of the way, let the government take over. That’s a major reason the UK and USA are in the shape both are today.

One of the things the communist know is you have to control the thought and actions of the youth, because the youth are the future. Both countries have some bad stuff coming there way, the governments of both countries have corrupted the youth.

Western Civilization has been cooking this social problem for 100 years or more. We are just now really starting to feel the consequences of disregarding biology and common sense.

    1. The ridiculous elongation of “childhood” and “adolesence” from 13 or 14 y/o (most of human history), stretching it until the 20′s, 30′s… heck I know some people in their 50′s who are emotionally still 16 years old. STUPID!
    2. Human biology has a sexual “alarm clock” inside each of us that goes off in our early teens. Older human civilizations understood this FACT, and thus mentally and emotionally prepared children to take on the FULL RESPONSIBILITIES of adulthood in their early teens, to coincide with our natural biology. At 13 or 14 years, a young man was expected to be able to work, and provide for himself and a family.
    3. Now we have reached the opposite extreme. Couples are waiting so long to “grow up” and get married, that it’s on the outside edge of risk and physical problems to even begin the conception process. STUPID!
    4. We have told every child the lie that they ALL should go to college – dragging out the educational process and loading them with incredible debt. STUPID!
    5. In general Western society worships and praises youth and immaturity, and neglects age and disregards wisdom. STUPID!

We have reached a fork in the road. It’s time to ask ourselves what we are going to do with the monster we have created in our self-indulgent, backwards society.

The sequence you’ve described has played-out again and again throughout our species existence. Each time it happened, it ended badly, with civilization turned to ashes. Now we have the ability to do it ourselves. The question is, can we back away from both the cause and the result before it’s too late?

Oh, I wouldn’t worry too much. Nature has a way of correcting the problem. When a civilization self-destructs because of one problem or another then nature resets and we are forced to live according to our true natures…..Those we consider to be children are forced to grow up and become adults far sooner than we consider to be normal now (married and having children in their mid-teens) while struggling to make a living in tough times…instead of wasting their lives with childish pursuits. The children of today may be the generation that will fall to those tough time, and wonder what the heck happened to their video games, mindless tv shows, sex without consequences and cradle to grave care by the state. They may learn that this was all a fantasy, and now we must get down to the task of surviving our own folly once again.

I’m concerned with the long term use of this contraception, especially, on the stability of the uterine wall and, tissue after years of thinning. The possibilities of miscarriage, and, life threatening hemmorage of the Uterus with or without pregnancy, have me concerned of the true ulterior motives of the health of the females, or in the savings of ridding teenage pregnancy. The word “Virgin” In Bibical times simply meant young girl, not of Carnal Knowledge. So Mary the Mother of Jesus was a young girl, do we know how young? Even Joseph questioned, the veracity of an immaculate conception, and after, the crucifiction of Jesus, what more has ever been said of the relationship with Mary and Joseph as, husband and wife. I can neither condemn or defend contraception, as there is insufficient information in scripture that I’ve read forbidding contraception, but, ample to forbid Abortion!

Exactly Leftfighter, but, in those days 13 was nearly half of life expectancy, The term “virgin” was that of a young girl of the same age considered to be innocent, but was of child bearing age. Women would not be
capable of childbirth if, not ready for the responsibility. Although I believe our children have been so dumbed down they could find their own asses without two hands! Sorry!

So if my child can’t go the doctor by himself, and the hospital can’t perform procedures without my authorization on minors, then why are schools allowed to give underage girls birth control and take them for abortions?

Our school requires a note from a parent for sunscreen and aspirin but abortions and birth control are just fine without my permission? This isn’t just a UK problem.
