‘We Found U ’Dy**’: 3 Masked Men Allegedly Mutilate Lesbian After Breaking Into Her Home During Grisly Hate Crime

During a grisly alleged hate crime in Lincoln, Nebraska, three masked men purportedly stormed a lesbian’s home, bound her and carved words into her skin. While the woman survived the attack, the horrifying incident could have come to a much more horrific ending.

Aside from purportedly marking the woman, the perpetrators painted a derogatory term for lesbians inside the home, poured gasoline around the house and lit it. While a fire naturally started, the damage was minimal. According to police, the woman escaped the home and fled to a neighbor for help.

Here’s how Reuters described the attack:

The woman told police that three masked men entered her home in south Lincoln early Sunday morning, tied her up and carved words into her body with a knife, according to a police report. Local media reported that the words were gay slurs, but police declined to confirm this.

Police did confirm that the woman was injured and treated at a local hospital. Anti-gay graffiti was spray-painted inside the home, according to police. A fire also was set in the kitchen, but burned itself out after causing about $200 in damage, according to a police arson report.

Another photo of the alleged painting, which includes the derogatory term “dyke” is below (this image was published on The Examiner). The message appears to read, in its entirety, “F**k u. We found u Dyke”:

The neighbor who the woman ran to, Linda Rappl, was stunned to find the 33-year-old woman, sobbing, naked and bloodied, at her front door on Sunday morning. The 68-year-old woman wrapped a blanket around the victim and invited her inside, promptly calling 911 to respond to the scene.

“I was in shock,” Rappl said, according to CNN. “She was naked, her hands were tied with zip ties. All I could see was a cut across her forehead and blood running down.”

Rappl went on to say that it looked as though the woman had been tortured, as there were also cuts on her legs.

The Daily Mail has more about the community’s reaction to the horrific attack:

The local community banded together in a vigil organized by a local LGBT group on Sunday night. More than 500 people attended to show their outrage at the attack and support for the victim.

Mayor Chris Beutler said authorities would do everything to ensure justice is done and denounced violence directed at any group. 

Police are still investigating the incident and the woman at the center of it is said to be out of the hospital and living in a safe house. Rappl describes her as a wonderful individual and a friend who is always going out of her way to help neighbors and the local community.

Cops are reluctant to release too much information about the crime, as they do not want to compromise future interviews with suspects. For now, it seems the community is rallying heavily behind the victim, as answers and justice are sought.

      I have people who live around here who steal from their grandparents but wont even breathe in my direction… I am assuming a confrontation or this woman is outspoken against wherever they stand…

      But ya, once this becomes a challenge of ideas into a physical issue… and in my own home?

      Lincoln City Council quickly passed an ordinance similar to Omaha’s to add BGLT to the “protected” classes without much input from the public. The majority of those allowed to offer input wanted this ordinance to be voted on by the citizens. (something similar has been voted down previously) After passing, there was such a roar that the ordinance has been put on hold until it is voted on by Lincoln citizens. If this crime truly occurred, the perpetrators should be punished. Many people marched in support of the victim and the BGLT community. However, many in Lincoln believe this was a stunt to gain attention and to raise sympathy for the BGLT community. The police are investigating the incident but are keeping the information “close to the vest” until they are done. If this was a stunt, it will have a backlash on the BGLT community. I don’t think that people should define, limit and/or separate themselves by sexuality or race, but those who choose to do so will likely reap the consequences.

      You have every right to protect yourself.if someone tries to harm use whatever means necessary to get to safety.

      That being said, the tagging on the wall apears feminine. Most guys don’t write that neat. The investigators should make sure that crime scene isn’t contaminated in any way. I’ve got a suspicion it was a friend or neighbor, someone close to the victim.

      @ INBLACK People teach a lot of things out of the Bible that they take out of context. Christ said if you so much as look at a woman with lust in your heart you are guilty of adultery. If you are guilty of fraction of the law you are guilty of it all. Sin is just sin before God. God does not distinguish between “little sins” and “big sins”. Man will but God doesn’t. God does not judge on the curb. If you lie, you’re gay, you’re a murderer and so on before God. You are guilty of one you are just guilty of it all.
      Sin was all dealt with at the cross. God does not look at your sin. He looks at Christ’s perfection. For God to look at your sin would be to say what Christ did wasn’t good enough, that He died in vain. In essence God would be denying Himself.

      Let’s acknowledge a few facts. Homosexuality is a psychological state..yes..it is. It’s not genetic. There’s no genetic pointer to homosexuality. Homosexuality was removed from the AHA’s list of psychological disorders not because the research demanded it, but that homosexual advocacy groups demanded it.

      So you have an aberrant state of mind where depression, hostility and similar feelings are not uncommon. Suicide rates are high among homosexuals. Acknowledging this, Is it out of the realms of possibility that an unstable mind put this “attack” together to garner support for it‘s cause and to smear it’s enemies?

      There‘s aspects of this story that just don’t make sense. The woman is purportedly stripped by three men but not raped (as far as we know). Words carved into her legs..it‘s easy to carve your own legs and put a scratch on your head isn’t it? Zip ties used to restrain her and her kitchen set on fire but she escapes somewhat easily to an elderly neighbor’s home. Anti lesbian graffitti in a part of her home not able to be seen by anyone other than a resident of the home. The story doesn’t make sense something is amiss.

      Something fishy about this story….

      Perhaps we should wait and see where this all goes, the wounds and damage from a gasoline fire started inside the house seem to be very minimal to the point of shall I say controlled? Why paint a slur on a wall inside the house then try to burn it down? How does one escape three attackers by crawling next door with their hands zip tied? For people who were apparently so incompetent isn’t it strange that there are as of yet zero suspects? Maybe it will turn out to be legit, but let’s wait and see.

      @ INBLACK: The Bible does not say God hates homosexuals, but it does say “homosexuality is an abomination unto the Lord”. That means that God does not hate the sinner, but does hate the sin. Christians who try to emulate Him do the same – they preach against the sin, but do not hate the sinner. That is a lie spread by the liberal leftists to minimize Christianity. A Christian would not do this – but a mentally derranged woman might, especially since all of these wounds were inflicted where she could easily reach, and because “for some reason” the fire did minimal damage. Now, if these words were carved on her back – then I would be convinced. But I’ve known someone who carved crazy words onto her own legs; it’s weird, but so is mental illness.

      If this happened as stated, it is horrific and the thugs should get the max.       You’re right Todd P, as far as your comments go. God also says they must be put to death. He also said that fornicators (sex outside of marriage), nonbelievers, adulterers, followers of other any other religion (such as Muslims), those who curse their parents or take the Lord’s name in vain. And so on.

      Now, you can be a Christian IMO and not feel obligated to go out and kill someone you know has committed those sins. Those who want to believe every word in the Bible is true will tell you that somewhere God – you know the omniscient and omnipotent Guy or Girl – changed his mind about those proscritions and rescinded the death threats. That was then, now is now, they say. Different times. Now God just calls all those acts sins and no longer demands death for those “sins.”

      You know, you believe that God demanded death to certain sinners, which no doubt took place, and just changed his tune at some point. Or you can look to the Bible and find the love of Christ and chose to live your life according the principals He taught.

      Does the name Tawana Brawley ring a bell with anyone? She’s the young girl who faked a somewhat similar attack and let herself be used by “Rev.” Al Sharpton to incite racial animosity until the whole thing was exposed as a hoax. There have been many such self-serving incidents over the years. This woman may have been a genuine victim, but, to me, this story reads like a hoax. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see future reports exposing this as a hoax, after a suitable period of politically correct public outrage, of course.

      But does anything seem a little odd to you?

      “WE FOUND U” seems to imply that she knew her attackers and they were looking for her for some reason. Then they found her and dealt to her so why write it on the wall for the investigators and media to see? Also, why write it on the wall if you’re going to burn the place down?

      Her wounds were to the forehead and legs, but not to her back or buttocks, it seems. Men usually punch their victims in the face, but facial bruising was not reported. Her hands were tied with zip ties which are easy to bind to oneself. You can use rope, of course, but it would be very hard to make it look convincin, and duct tape holds prints very well..

      “D*KE” is emotive, which opens the door to a myriad of possibilities.

      You have to allow, LPHP, that there are some reasonable queries to be answered.

      This is hearsay, but…

      Posters on other news sites, and who are locals, have come up with a couple of interesting details.

      The woman has been treated and discharged from hospital, which makes one wonder about the seriousness of the wounds. A local radio station apparently referred to them as “deep scratches”.

      The gasoline in the kitchen was in the form of a puddle in the middle of the floor, which was still burning when the police got there. Do arsonists not usually walk accelerant through the house if they are serious about burning a house down?

      The woman said that they were yelling slurs at her during the attack, but the neighbours didn’t hear anything.

      And it is interesting to note that there was a petition going on about discrimination against gays and lesbians in rental housing in that area, and that it was struggling for support. I agree that this is a bit tenuous and I thought about leaving it out, but there it is anyway.

      So while I abhor the sort of crime that this appears to be, there are too many inconsistancies to take it at face value.

IF, it turns out to be true, the SOB’s who did this should rot in hell.       I live in Lincoln, and many people here also find this case puzzling. I, too, find the neatness of the grafitti very suspicious. And, yes, why is it in the basement, and not upstairs where someone would see it. ? The newspaper’s story describes the alleged assailants as wearing ski masks. So, in a densely populated area of our town, at a time when many people are coming home from parties, and might see or hear something, three men walked up to a home wearing ski masks (It‘s in the 100’s here right now), carrying zip ties, a can of spray paint, a gas can and sharp objects. None of the wounds described in the accounts are in places that could not have been self-inflicted. And, after bothering to carry in a gas can, they can’t even be bothered to set a fire that will do damage ? One key fact that has not been mentioned in any news story is that when you check the Lincoln police call log for that night, the only notes added for the stop at this house talk about an arson fire that self-extinguished. Nothing about assault, or unlawful entry, or an attack. Yes, we have just had a “fairness ordinance” passed here adding sexual orientation as a protected status. It will be on the ballot in an upcoming election (probably November’s) due to overwhelming support for a public referendum.

      I was horrified for this poor woman until the details started coming out. Why write a note on the wall to a victim that they were attacking face to face? Wouldn’t the written threat come before or in the absence of an attack in order to intimidate? & why in the basement?

      Why was the gasoline in a puddle in the KITCHEN, where there is usually tile or linoleum flooring that is not very flammable? If they were going to burn her alive in her house, why wouldn’t they just stab her to death or suffocate her and then burn it down to obscure evidence?

      How was she so brutally attacked by three hateful men, but released immediately after being treated? Was there evidence of sexual assault? Were any of her wounds in areas where she could not have done it herself?

      First response: Compassion for this poor woman.
      Second response: This story doesn’t make sense.
      Third response: You know, people have faked assaults in the past to move a political agenda….

    in lincoln they passed some kind of progressive ordinance concerning the gay community which they are trying to get on the ballot for the people to vote on
    I am not from there but there has been a lot about this on the news when it happened
    a similar bill was passed in omaha but this one in lincoln differs
    as being a little too much…possibly
    i think the attack stems from this city ordinance that was passed

      This person is a victim and a human, not solely defined by the fact that they are gay or what group you lump them in to.

      The crime is not more significant because of why someone did it.

      The attackers should be tried and presumably found guilty of torture and attempted murder.

      If this had been a straight white male, the crime should be the same, the punishment should be the same and your outrage should be the same.

      - no intruder is going to be considerate enough to spray paint your basement wall instead of your bedroom.
      - a gasoline fire that burns itself out after causing only $200 in damages?!

      My exact thoughts. I think that this was staged and that she did this herself. It seems that I read a story very similar to this recently sans self mutilation. Two lesbian women vandalizing their own home to make it look like a hate crime? Many homosexuals cut themselves and I feel very bad for them, but hell let’s give them some orphans to raise, they’re awfully nice.

      Toward the end of the article, my gut feeling turned toward suspicion- something seems off about the message, “ ”We found you….” It’s not as if anyone is in hiding these days. It’s over the top and smacks of other staged crimes. Still, no need to rush to judgement: I believe the forensic evidence will make it clear whether this is a hoax or a hate crime. If it is the latter, she has my full sympathy.

I am a Christian and believe that God is their judge and that is not up to me. However, there are crazy people in every group and I think this was done by herself or by a hate-filled friend.

      If the story is true, then let us find and condemn those responsible. If it is fake, then the shame is on the ones who faked it. In either event, we are better served considering all laws and ordinances with a clear head and not just caught up in the moment.

If they intended on burning the place to the ground, why whould they paint words on a wall that would not be there especially in black paint that would be covered by black smoke damage and be invisible? Just look at the comments to stories here at The Blaze, there are very few rational comments. Most comments are extreme left or extreme right. It is not just at The Blaze that this is true.       For the past 4 years class warfare and identity politics has treated the public as comodifiable collectives which politicians seek to exploit and turn on one another. I do believe the left has done this the longest and with the most cynicism; the rush to blame the Tea Party for every act of extreme violence phenomena being so fresh in our memories as a prime example. They have dehumanized us and made us into pawns, if we buy into the collective and allow them to play us against each other. If you want to stop this trend, treat people as individuals. Respond only to what that person has said without pulling in talking points based on others you assume they align with. If we all do that from all sides, the polarization can begin to diminsh.

      Great post… well said. But I am afraid this has been going on much longer than 4 years. I do agree that in the last 4 years under the current Marxist regime it has gotten much worse. Division, envy and dehumanization have been the tools of those seeking power over others for centuries.

      Peach, if it (improperly using a homophone) were an isolated incident, a private reminder might be best. However, the poor grammar and spelling on TheBlaze is so egregious, we must bring it to the attention of management.

      The first article I read this morning told of a woman getting a bullet lodged in her “scull.” Honestly, I am shocked that Glenn Beck wants to tighten his association with this site. The unprofessional use of language naturally calls into question the accuracy of the articles.

    If this story is true, it’s horrible and I hope those who did it are caught and brought to justice.

    But–and maybe it’s just my suspicious mind at play here–something’s not quite ringing right in this story. We may just not have enough facts here yet. But. . . ? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. Hope the whole truth (whatever it may be) comes out.

    Seriously, nobody does this motivated from hate. She was NOT robbed, nor was she raped. The wounds she suffered are either self-inflicted or she got at the hands of her “partner”. Completely faked. Homosexuality is a mental disorder; do not be surprised when people who suffer from a mental disorder that manifests itself in attention seeking behavior do something to seek attention.

    Ultimately she will be charged with filing a false police report, but the media will ignore that aspect and leave people with the impression that there are roving bands of masked men just looking to break into the homes of perfect strangers just to accuse them of some sex deviancy.
