We live in a representative republic so that the mob we have seen in Wisconsin for the last year doesn‘t impose it’s Maxist ideology on the rest of us. The founders should be proud of this great nation and superior system of government they created. It will again be showcased come this November.

Maybe think why the people of WI. rejected Barrett. was it because of the reprehensible behavior, temper tantrums and destruction at the state capitol when Walker announced that there wouldn’t be collective bargaining? Washington state’s Inslee is up for run for governor. He is beholden to the unions.

I pray to God this is the“end of democracy” in America. The founders despised and mistrusted democracies and intentionally avoided creating one. Democracies lead to things like the French Revolution and public beheadings. It is tyranny by the majority. No thanks. These union guys have to get used to the idea that Scott Walker was elected to do what he said he would do, and used the republican form of government (bicameral legislatures) to get his programs through. Unions petulantly tried to undo it and failed. Time to accept it or go find somewhere to live where government funds are unlimited and everyone can be wards of the state. The rest of us respectfully decline.

END OF DEMOCRACY????? Who does this guy think he is kidding? No, It is the beginning of democracy! It represents the taxpayers shedding the yoke of Union tyranny. It represents the average American’s disgust with Civil Service retirement and benefits packages far exceeding those same benefits provided by private business. It represents the hard working American’s disgust with the strong arm union tactics which is holding state and local governments hostage.

To the voters of Wisconsin, THANK YOU! Thank you for showing the way and opening the door for other states which are drowning in unfunded liabilities due to union strong arm tactics. You have given the courage to voters in other states to overcome the outrageous demands of the unions.

State workers are no better than workers in the private sector. They must realize that they don’t have a bottomless pit from which to draw from. Governments can no longer afford to give benefits like they have in the past. Governments, Federal, state and local, MUST realize that that they have to adhere to the same principles as any business. They cannot continue to commit money they don’t have.

You unionized state workers, you must understand that if your state goes bankrupt, you may lose all those benefits and not only that, you may not have a job.

I don’t think we should be laughing. This guy may be 100% wrong, but we should be worried because he is 100% sincere and his mindset/sincerity is apparently that of a good percentage of the other side. Those of us against big brother truly believe that if we don’t take back what we have lost, our country is in deep trouble. I daresay there are many amongst us willing to prove OUR sincerity. If huge numbers of individuals on the other side feel as strong about their points of view as we do ours, we should be more concerned with healing in the future; that is assuming we are able to peel back government to a manageable state. Our brothers may be idiots, but they are our brothers. We need to convince them of the errors of their ways, and also need to rid our society of those dangerous fellow travelers in our media and educational institutions who played such a big part of creating the brainwashing of the left.

Question is what America did he know and America where public sector workers can extort the tax payers to pay for substandard public work force, with no acountability,at twice the cost for half the results. Truth is privatization of all the public work force would increase competetion, create and enviroment in which indusrt strives for better results in more cost effective manners. Public workers do nothing but demand more dispite the dismal results of it productivity.

This is the end of democracy? Not really dude. No matter how much money was thrown at this election (which by the way shows the support level of the candidates), the people of Wisconsin voted. Not the cash. This how our Republic works. The people have spoken. Stop the crying. We didn’t cry when Obama was elected, we rallied. If your point was valid the people would have sided with you. The people of Wisconsin, and the USA for that matter, are not stupid. Maybe it is time for you to re-evaluate yourself.

Look closely everyone. This or violence is what progressives fall too when they don’t get their way. Not a logical thought in their entire being. Very much like babies, crying or going into temper tantrums when they don’t get their way. Unfortunately when they get to this age this shows a lack of decent parental guidance for quite a long time.

MAKE NO MISTAKE…this is not the time to get complacent or to rest on one’s laurels. The victory in Wisconsin is win for the people of Wisconsin. They saw the real benefits of Walker’s policies and responded to the nearly two year hissy fit the democrats and the unions threw.

This is not the time to sit back and expect a victory in November in the general election. Use this win in Wisconin to inspire you to do what the tea parties did in Wisconsin…they waged a superb ground game. They out played the lefties at their own game. THIS is the lesson to be learned from Wisconsin last night.
      Stay vigilant…

What a pea-brained brainwashed by unions dweeb! I too, am a publi sector union employee (reluctantly forced union) in the State of Ohio. We pay into our retirement And insurance, and I am fine with that. We should, like everyone else! If I were young enough to be able to get a full 30yr retirement, which I am not, I would not retire wealthy. It would be ok at best, with the cost of living factored in. Our retirement is not a cadillac plan. When these people feel they should not pay anything for their retirement or medical insurance is REDICULOUS. The taxpayeres pay our entire wages, etc.. Everyone needs to contribute, pay taxes, retirement, I do not get Social Security since this is a state retirement. But we need to contribute, just like the SS contributions, and for medical insurance. This guy needs to wake up and see what his union is doing to him and see where all his dues are going-big union bosses AND the “Demoncratic party”.

Hopefully, this is a precursor to regaining OUR country as it was. Congratulations Governor (x2) Walker and Lt Governor Kleefisch. I really enjoyed watching Rachel Maddow bemoan the fact that this would lead to far less union money to influence elections for the democrats. She was perfectly honest about union directed money going only to the Dems. Every state should now follow Walker’s lead regarding union opt out and every state should advance right to work legislation. This reduced union funding is the most important thing to come from this election. Let us not become complacent it is not yet halftime, we really need to run up the score.

It is the end, but we already knew that. Even the people who post here, as ill-informed as they are, realize that our democracy is gone.
They supported the takeover of our country by the corporations and the very rich.
Just look at how Walker won, through the vast sums of money being pumped into his campaign from out of state.
None of you would stand for that if it was a foreign power. But you stand for this, in fact you welcome it. You don’t deserve democracy. You don’t deserve to call yourselves patriots. You allow money to be the major factor in the outcome of America’s elections, just because you support their views right now. Well that will change. Do not fool yourself for one second. Once the people you support no longer have need of you, what little they give you in return will dry up.
Stand for something, but stand alone and not at the end of the strings of the rich and powerful.

Remember when Democrats had to go into therapy when Bush was elected? They thought Democracy was over because the chads resulting from stuffing more than one ballot into the boxes were not enough to put Bush out of the office. Now, though they brought in labor unions from all over the country, though their representatives ran away over the border so they would not have to vote, though they forced yet another recall because they could not get their way with all those childish episodes; they lost again. So, they think Democracy is finished again. They don’t understand representative government, nor do they understand that when a majority elect a politician, that politician is elected no matter whether they like the politician or not. They think democracy means they win all the elections.

This is just the beginning Drama…whether you like it or not your going have freedom shoved down your throat. If you don’t like it then move your azz to the EU or Russia. The long suffering ordinary taxpayers of WI have finally had someone address their concerns and this is the vitriol the rest of us have to put up with becuase of it. If anything the confirmation of Wlaker and the even larger spread in the victory should signal to the public union/dem collusion money laundering syndicates throughout America that they are now on notice and the ordinary taxpayers that have put up with this corruption and extorsion will no longer take it. The elft often acts like they are the ones left disenfranchised by nights like these when in reality the opposite is true. The long suffering, do it by the book, hard working silent majority( no longer) has HAD it with this corruption. As I stated earleir it’s the beginning of the end of a era where too many of us put up with this scam. It’s too bad it took the near death of the country (that may still go under) to finally open enough eyes to the clear and present danger the Dems/Unions now pose to the fiscal survival as the nation, let alone freedom and self determination.

      @OLDSARGE – I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Regardless of foreign zillions from (Soros), and the zillions from the Hollywood ELITE (Hanks and Spielberg have dropped MILLIONS into liberal coffers all around the country) it came down to the individual voter in Wisconsin.

Man … I’m so proud and thankful to be living in this country tonight. Adams, Jefferson and the rest — are smiling.

In these 3 effrots the Unions spent over 120 million (maybe more) all on a losing effort. Is it any wonder that Union membership under Wlakers reforms (which alllowed dues to be voluntarily submitted rather than automatically withheld) have seen membership [lummet. This fight was about retaining the automatic dues withdrawel which in turn would free up Union leadership from being held accountable for stupid actions such as this ill conceived recall effort. I woould have to say that on a volunteer bassis (for dues) the members that disapprove of the leadership’s politics and the precipitous drop in membership since the Walker reforms were enacted should have told the Dems that further intimidation along these longs no longer flies with the general public at large. The old tactics no longer fool the rank and file.

Bigwheeler the Unions poured 63 million into this (failure of a) recall effort. What a monumental waste of hard earned rank and file dues. The steep drop off in membership since the reforms were enacted into law speaks volumes about the memberships opinion on the leaderships misuse and absue of these funds. That is why the Dems have been so shrill about what is happening in WI…they see a key monetary cash cow, that for years has been abused by them, taken for granted etc, slipping away. As such this election proves that there is still justice and redemption for those tired of being handed a bill they wanted no part of and vocied thier opposition to ( to no avail until recently) in election after election. The Dems have overplayed the so called mandate in 2008, ignored the huge repudiation in 2010 and now posied to give us the same old same old in the run up to 2012. Who knows maybe they will actually try and come clean in the next few months if only to save their own worthless azzes in the fall. It won‘t work I’m willing to bet. Obongo and his team must be in full panic mode. I bet in the next 3 weeks the rats will begin to abandon the ship in droves. I would not be surprised to see Biden dropped in favor of Billary, the general public however will see such an act for what it will be, pure desperation.

you know the funny thing here??? DEMOCRATS(not all of course) actually voted for Walker. LOL
those that did were upset with this bs, and because the numbers don’t lie. Walker is a rare breed an honest politician who keeps his promises.
in his victory speach when he mentioned his apponents name the crowd booed, but Walker said “ no no no no no no” untill the crowd quited down and said the election is over it is time everyone join together and move this great state forward”.
this best line was when he said that he was inviting state congress over including democrats for “brats and burgers, and maybe even some good Wisconsin beer.” a true man of honor and i’m proud to say i voted for him twice, and will again and again and again.

OLD SARGE, YOU ARE SPOT ON!!!! The real problem is the stupidity of union members who allowed $63 million of their hard earned dues money to be funneled into this debacle. $63 million which was taken from your pockers! To the union rank and file, It’s no longer about YOU, the worker! It’s all about the union bosses and their continuing grab for power, using YOUR dues to enhance their power.

If you belong to any union, you as a member, must demand an accounting from your union as to how much they committed to this recall election and remember that that money COULD have been used for YOUR healthcare, retirement and other uses which benefits YOU instead of being wasted on this election.

PETTYDRAMAQUEEN, Actually, it works well for this country to not only be a Constitutional Republic, but the two party system works well for us. Yeah, there are tiny splinter parties, but fortunately they have not divided this nation as much as countries like Italy with something near fifty political parties. Makes for a truly splintered mess over there.

No not even close to dead but this is an all important first step to getting a handle on out of control spending (on public sector salaries, bennies etc). The road to victory involves curtailing public employee Unions at all levels of Gov’t across the nation if we are ever going to get out of this mess. The public sector should never have been allowed to Unionize in the first place. It’s one of the few things FDR got right. It’s funny I bet most of the early Progressives (1900-1950) would have been completely at odds with the policy platforms of todays progressive movement.

Yup, and that hurts the pocket book and the huge donations to the Democrats. I would be incensed
to pay union dues and have them used that way. I’d pay dues to do my fair share, but that doesn’t include sending money to a political party to get more ill gotten power. Don’t need greedy unions.

Should public sector unions deserve job security and benefits far and above private sector? The inequality of this brought many Democrats to vote for Walker. I was making fun of their slogan of “fair share”. I feel that the people spoke today and it was a good and common sense vote. The Democrats have free publicity with the media being so biased and yet it didn’t matter today. That actually gives me hope. The pretense of Obama to care about the middle class and poor while devalueing the dollar with the Quantative easing 1 &2 and causing the price of everything in their lives to go up almost makes me sick. Can thinking people fall for that rhetoric? I am glad that the people shut down the unions and their power because the inequality deserved a kick in the rear.
