‘We’re All God‘s Children’: Jerry Brown Cites ‘Missionary Zeal’ in Gov. Acceptance Speech

In a speech to accept his newly-crowned governorship, Jerry Brown decided to go spiritual.
“We‘re all God’s children,” he said to supporters at an Oakland theater, “and while I’m really into this politics thing, I still carry with me my sense of, kind of, that missionary zeal to transform the world, and that’s always been a part of what I do.”
“I understand the political part, but I also understand what it’s all about,” he added.
The “missionary zeal” he’s referring to could be a reference to his Catholic past. In 1958 he entered seminary and took vows to become a Jesuit. That was short lived, however, as he left the order two years later.
This is Brown’s second time as California governor. He previously served two terms from 1974-1982. The win comes after unsuccessful runs for U.S. Senate and president, and successful bids for Oakland* mayor and state attorney general.
*It was originally reported that Brown was the mayor of Sacramento.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 9:31amHey, Mr Brown, don’t include me in “we are all God’s children.” Because your god is Lucifer and mine is the Creator of Heaven and Earth. I was adopted into this Family by grace through Faith in the one and only Son of God, Jesus Christ. Now it would be nice for you to accept Jesus as your Savior but all you want to do is “transform the world.” We are not of this world, that‘s why the world doesn’t accept us nor understands us. So you just keep running to your Utopia, I’ve read the Book and know how it ends. I know the King of kings and Lord of lords and He knows me.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Easy to spout out like a humanitarian but a little harder to walk the walk as we said in Vietnam. I am not a Brown supporter. Not at all. California has the 2nd highest unemploymente in the country and is basically BROKE. This is because in giving continuous FREE to all God’s children in Califronia, all the free benefits and giveaways to get votes, they have put themselves on the track to doom. Posted on November 3, 2010 at 8:57amerrrrrrp wrong! Show me in the Bible where it says we are all God’s children! We are all God’s creation, and all people are of the same blood, but being God’s child is a spiritual condition, not a physical one.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
We are adopted into God’s family while on earth. We are married into God’s family in the wedding ceremony of the Lamb.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 9:03amAlso, Romans 8. Took me a minute to find it:
14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba,[g] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 10:31amUntrue though that is a nice fuzzy warm feeling isn’t it? All those fuzzy warm feelings that deceive you and keep you from the truth. No, we are not all God’s children. Jesus taught that in the time of the end that he was send his angels to gather the tares (children of the wicked one) into bundles to be burned but then the wheat would be gathered into the barn. If people would just open their bibles and read the words of Jesus. There will be no excuse of any of us on the day of judgment. For a man like Jerry Brown to even speak about God is close to taking God’s name in vain. As another said, California and Nevada get what they deserve and I do surely hope that when our government has changed minds at the turn of the new year that they have the common sense not to bail out California. Leave California to fend for itself. They are a frivolous welfare state anyhow.

Democrats won in some areas (Nevada, Calif, etc.) because they cheated (illegals voting, sending illegal letters to employees). I believe this is the only way they can win, which says a mountain full. I do hope the powers that be (conservatives) do something to investigate these frauds and show the American people just how evil and insane the progressive Democrats really are. If these new Republicans are smart, they will get their investigative arm around this current healthcare bill and tear it apart, limb by limb. It’s best to start there. INVESTIGATE. Bravo to John Kasich in Ohio. Ted Strickland was a real clown here, allowing Ohio, within 4 years of his term, to go downhill fast. He supported Obama and now he has paid the price. Bye, bye, Teddy. We are very happy to see you leave. Bravo to Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Florida. Conservatives have spoken, but that is not the end. We have a big uphill battle. Just because the House has a majority now of Republicans, doesn’t mean anything, if anything, will get thru the Senate. The Senate still hold the majority of Democrats. So, as I said, INVESTIGATE, INVESTIGATE, and INVESTIGATE until they evil-doers are revealed for what they really are. START THERE, REPUBLICANS! PLEASE START THERE and everything else will fall right into place.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 11:53am14 “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”
So it is easy to see that everyone is the inherent child of God, it’s just that some, by being led by the Spirit of God, are functionally so. It has nothing to do with how one was created, rather one’s relationship with Spirit. Anyone, anywhere may be accurately termed “a child of God”, simply by being led by the Spirit of God. And no one can judge another on the essence of that relationship.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 12:11pmAwakened one, I do not know why I am even bothering with you. First of all, I judge no one, that is not my place. I just know what Scripture tells me. The only reason I am responding to you now is that you do seem to want to know. Okay, I think your problem might lay in your idea of salvation. Do you, by chance believe everyone will go to heaven? After all, God so loved the WHOLE WORLD…Right? Because this idea might explain your animosity to the idea that only those who are “born again” are born into the family of God. I am sorry you do not “like” this idea, but what you or I personally “like” or want to believe is of no concern to God. He laid it all out very clearly in the Bible. That is His inspired Word. If you do not believe that then why would you believe Jesus rose from the dead? It is not consistent. Anyway, the Bible clearly states that you need to be baptized BY THE SPIRIT to become a member of God’s family. That is why we are all here! To make that choice. It is YOUR choice to make. God does not punish disobedience, we are ALL doomed to hell! Please, digest that. We are ALL on our way to hell. Everyone. It is not a “punishment.” Our sin simply does not allow us to be in the presence of God. But…Jesus gives you a FREE gift!!! He died as a sacrifice to atone for ALL sin! All sin that ever existed or will ever be committed. All of it, it is all covered. So your sin is taken care of as is mine. IF you choose to accept that gift then you will become a child of God and be admitted into heaven and have eternal life doing the single thing you were created to do, that is worship God. If you do not choose God? No problem. You will be sent to hell for eternity, not as a punishment, but because that is where sin MUST go!
Now, you can take offense at what I am telling you. You can choose to not believe it. You may believe that because God loves everyone then everyone will have salvation. But you are wrong and unless you have accepted Christ as your Savior you will have an eternity in hell. That is just simple fact, you can look any of it up in the Bible. It has nothing to do with “judging” anyone else, it is simply God’s plan. I hope you think that over my friend.
