‘We’re in Charge’: Biden Says Bad Economy Belongs to Obama, Not to Bush

Vice President Joe Biden said the troubled U.S. economy belongs to the Obama administration — not the Bush administration — in an interview with a Florida radio station Wednesday.
That his administration “inherited” a struggling economy has been a consistent talking point for President Barack Obama since taking office, but Biden told WLRN “that’s not relevant“ because ”we are are the ones in charge”:
“There’s a lot of people in Florida that have good reason to be upset because they’ve lost jobs. Even though 50-some percent of the American people think the economy tanked because of the last administration, that’s not relevant. What’s relevant is we’re in charge. And right now we are the ones in charge and it’s gotten better but it hasn’t gotten good enough. And in states like Florida, it’s even been more stagnant because of the real estate market. And so I don’t blame them for being mad. We’re in charge.”
White House press secretary Jay Carney attempted to dial back Biden’s quote Thursday, saying Biden “didn’t say that the blame for it is owned“ but that Americans ”want their elected officials in Washington to act to improve the situation.”
According to CBS, Biden also said it is “totally legitimate” for the 2012 presidential election to “understandably” serve as “a referendum on Obama and Biden and the nature and state of the economy.” He said it’s “soon going to be a choice” for Americans whether to vote for what Obama or the eventual Republican nominee are offering the country.

Posted on September 29, 2011 at 11:41pmHas anyone seen the clips from Biden on the VIEW the other day? He was asked if he was going to still be the VP and made comment about how he tried to get out of it. Also later in the interview he commented on when Obama asked him to be VP, he clearly stated that he did not want to be consulted on decisions, he prefers to be the last in the room when decisions are made. This man may be a dummy to us, but I think he knows exactly what Obama is. Biden took the job for the title not the policies. Just sayin.

Posted on September 30, 2011 at 9:42amYou bet your back side, it’s your economy! And it has since he took office. That’s what “taking office” means: it’s now YOUR responsibility. It‘s that way with every job I’ve ever had, that’s for sure.

Posted on September 29, 2011 at 10:21pmObama owns the problem because he’s president. He has owned it from day one of his presidency. For once, Biden was right about something even if the PR folks think it was a gaffe. Besides, Obama has contributed so much to worsen the economy its hard to remember that the problems started just before he took office.

Posted on September 30, 2011 at 6:14amJust setting the stage – following orders to undermine Obama a bit….to potentially place Hillary in the VP or top seat. He has to give Obama a reason to remove him…
it’s all scripted…
For many companies that support Obama I look for a hiring frenzy in ‘12 to get the jobs numbers up through the election.
and if they get their top choice republican (the secret people behind the scenes- aka CFR / Soros and others) will win no matter who is president.

Posted on September 29, 2011 at 9:57pmthe closer to the truth, the more believable the lie.
Neither Obama nor Biden is in charge of the economy. Biden is just “admitting it” because it might him seem more responsible and therefore more re-electable.
There are very few people these days who do not know with total certainty that the Federal Reserve et. al. are calling the shots for private enrichment and that Obama/Biden are little more than their lackeys.
