‘We’re Under Attack’: Gibson Guitar CEO Was Not Too Impressed With ‘Big Liberal’ Obama’s Jobs Speech

The Blaze has been following the ordeal at Gibson Guitar this month.

For our detailed post from a week ago…click here.

Amid the uproar over the company’s importation practices, CEO Henry Juszkiewicz was invited to attend Obama’s Thursday night speech as the guest of Tennessee Rep. Marsha Blackburn. Afterward he talked to National Review Online.  He didn’t seem to be too impressed!

Henry Juszkiewicz, the chief executive officer of Gibson Guitar Corp., tells National Review Online that President Obama, a “big liberal,” has done “untold damage to business” and should not be applauded for his jobs speech. ”He’s a government fan,” he says. “He has a problem with successful businesses. He thinks they’re the problem, that they shouldn’t be quite as successful.”

“He is using the levers of government to not only redistribute, but to penalize,” he adds. “I see a difference between what he said and what he’s doing.”

Read the rest here.

And here‘s Glenn Beck’s recent radio interview with Juszkiewicz:

This gets worse – according to one of the liberal Nashville newsrags, a Soros-funded group known as the “Environmental Investigation Agency” assisted the administration in the “investigation” of Gibson (they brag about it on their website). Another breathtaking abuse of power by this administration.

Just think…if they can bust down the door of a corporation on a trumped up charge like this…what chance does a homeowner have when they come for our guns. Obama’s civilian army…aka “union thugs” will not stand a chance against an armed citizenry…they have to disarm us for his plan to work……the whole time I was watching him last night I kept thinking that this must have been similar to what the German citizens saw prior to Hitlers push for marxism and world domination.

The question remains , doesn’t Fender use the same wood in their guitars? Is Gibson the only one that uses Ebony, Ivory & Rosewood? I don’t think so. So why is Gibson being targeted? Could it be they donate to the RNC instead of the DNC?

“The question remains , doesn’t Fender use the same wood in their guitars? Is Gibson the only one that uses Ebony, Ivory & Rosewood?”

Wrong question. Does the federal government have the Constitutional authority to tell citizens what kind of wood they can and can’t use? That’s the important question here and the answer is a huge NO! States have that authority if they so choose (it’s called the Tenth Amendment) but the federal government (according to same) does NOT!

@jkendal You are incorrect as the wood is imported and sold across the company which places it under interstate commerce. The question is whether the wood being used, can be used and was it obtained and purchased correctly. If it was then there is a forum for Gibson to make their case. Usually very telling when a company or a lawyer chooses to present their case outside of that forum.

@Jrook – So little old gibson should have taken on the Fed lawyers with their bottomless pit of money in complete silence? Otherwise they are guilty? (certainly that was implied in your post)

Let me know if you still feel that way when they come down on your company… and you no longer have a job.

This administration doesn’t care about our rights, doesn’t care if we have jobs, or homes, or food, and they will do anything to push forward their leftist, statist agenda.

@drphil69 Good point. But its not just the Feds you have to worry about. One of the companies I’m involved in was sued by a wealthy individual who choose not to pay his bill. When we lean his property he sued us and it became a issue of staying power ($) not right or wrong. You know the story, his lawyer knew the judge, etc. We waited til right before the judgement, declared bankruptcy and sold the assets to a new company. He technically won but got zip, other than he never paid us. My point was cautioning those who react to the statements by the CEO and the slant of the reports here. In my mind it is an issue of whether he or company representatives knew what they were doing was in the black, white or gray area of the applicable regulations or law here. While I understand the paranoid conspiracy tendency in this audience, I rather doubt Gibson was targeted by the Feds. There either is or is not a basis for the action. The Feds don‘t usually pursue cases they don’t already know they can win. If your a Prosecutor you can pick what to go after, so really no incentive to pick things they can’t win or would be tied up for an extended time. The CEO should publish the indictment and their response if he wants to gain public opinion here.

I can actually see a time in the near future where under the guise of “fairness”, the Obama administartion adopts a policy of kicking good people out of their homes over spome trumped-up BS charges, only to turn around and hand your home over to some fat lazy Democrat voter being supported by the taxpayers. I can see it going so far as the original homeowner has their paycheck docked to make sure they continue to pay the mortgage for the home they got thrown out of (that some lazy dirt-bag is now living in).

@jrook – There is no indictment. That’s one of the major issues here. No charges have been filed and the feds are not responding to Gibsons requests. The fact is, Gibson alone was targeted and other manufacturers, C.F. Martin was one named, that get their wood from the exact same source were not targeted. The only difference is Gibson is a Republican contributor and the other companies are, on record, Democratic contributors.

Better to have him and his governance thoroughly repudiated at the polls than to have the left carry on for decades about how racist the impeachment was, how the Tea Party did it, making Obama a political martyr, and on and on.

He is a one-termer, and there is nothing he can do about it. The sentiment in this country has turned too far against him and his lying, his corruption, his incompetence.

No impeachment necessary. Let’s not let the left rewrite history to escape their record this time.

Another travesty of justice, meaning injustice. When one looks at the entire makeup of the Obama administration, it is hard to find anything that has been done right, or has not been done with underhandedness, corruption or Chicago style politics. Sometimes I wonder where God is while all this is going on. I do believe he is keeping a ledger on Obama and his “terroristic” and unconscionable activities, and what was done to Gibson guitar is nothing short of terrorism. You could call it an “enemies list” , with a “one down, and whose next”. Believe it or not, this is happening in the good old USA. Whats happening people?
“Fast and furious, we didn’t know”, says Holder. ********! How many local offices of the ATF are going to release guns to terrorist Mexican thugs without the top dog in the Justice Department being not just aware but involved in the policy making decisions as well? Would you believe not one?
From the top down, from the Prevaricator-in-Chief, through all of his policy wonks and czars, to the implementers at the local levels, we have a situation of our American government run a muck. We are already in deep ****, and in case anyone hasn’t figured it out yet, we are going to need more than just getting rid of Obama, his cohorts and the Democrat controlled Senate. We need an overhaul from the top down, canning the EPA, the DOE, HUD and several other departments. the State Department and the Justice Department also minimally need a major overhaul. Everybo
