West Bank, Gaza Terrorists Use Google Earth to Select Israeli Civilian Targets for Rocket Attack

The world wide web’s dark side strikes yet again, this time with the popular web application Google Earth. Ironically, the satellite mapping system that was funded by IN-Q-TEL, the CIA’s venture capital arm, is reportedly helping Islamic terrorists target and kill innocent Israeli civilians.
According to an Undhimmi report, members of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade — the military wing of West Bank’s Fatah party — are using Google Earth to pinpoint Israeli civilian targets for their missile attacks.
Several of al-Aqsa’s members even went on the record with Slate, describing the militant Islamic group’s methods for lobbing rockets at Israel:
“The technology is always improving,” a terrorist calling himself Abu Saif told journalist Sharon Weinberger. “Our struggle started with the Kalashnikov, and then it moved to the suicide bomb, then the locally made rocket, and now the Grad rocket.”
Gaza terrorists in rocket launching crews use Google Earth to aim their weapons, Abu Said said. The program is seen as superior to maps because it is more up-to-date and gives precise locations for potential targets.
Gaza terrorists who spoke to Weinberger said they plan to continue with rocket attacks despite the deployment of the Iron Dome system, which shoots short-range rockets out of the air. “The Israelis are using a lot of money for this defense, but during the last rocket attacks, our rockets made it through,” explained Abu Hamza, a senior Islamic Jihad terrorist.
Saif later went on to suggest Gaza and West Bank terrorists would soon be employing new technologies to further their attacks against Israel. And reports have already surfaced of terrorists launching a laser-guided missile at an Israeli school bus, killing one teenager.
According to both Slate and Undhimmi, Hamas and Fatah terrorists are also stepping up their PR campaigns by making and disseminating their own “promo” videos. One of Abu Saif’s videos was reportedly even sent to Al Jazeera.
“In some way, rocket making has almost become an extreme form of reality television,” Weinberger suggested, “with the militants understanding that playing to the cameras is as important as, or perhaps more important than, actually launching rockets.”
It makes one take pause when our own technologies end up being used against us, and our allies.

US military, intel & law enforcement agencies nearly always use Google Earth for initial targeting & recon prior to developing, updating & confirming the intial targeting data & intel; yes, even the US govt. routinely uses it in the first few minutes or hours to conduct target development until we can focus our much more detailed sensors & collection efforts.
Anyone who doesn’t use the available technology is intentionally handicapping themselves.
The genie is long ago out of the bottle on this technology. The only thing to mitigate the effects are counter-measures: building underground, GPS jammers, RF jammers, camouflage, rotating activity locations (shell game), thermal camouflage, etc.

Many other commercial domestic & international, free market, capitalist corporations provide satellite imagery w/ geo-coordinates – oh, & plenty of Nation States (roughly a dozen) have the same capability.
Even if we could shoot down or knock out every single satellite one would have to abandon & rebuild every sensitive facility & impose a strict out of sight perimeter around them too keep them from being precisely located.
Once the world was so precisely mapped it will remain easy to update the coordinate of any target visible anywhere in the world.

I have “spoken” with the people working on the site and they are attempting to make a LOT of changes as well as trying to fix things that have been popping up. They are running their tails off and I think that they are doing a great job of even keeping the site up with everything going on. It is like them working on a road, it seems to take forever (actually in the road work it does take forever) but then almost before you realize it, it is going like it should be. A lot of the problems they’ve been having is the way that we post on here makes for a lot of interesting challenges for them. We need to realize that while a lot of other sites don‘t seem to have as much problems is because they’ve been doing it longer and have worked out a lot of the problems that these guys are having to deal with now since they are still relatively new.

Look at the fact the terrorists are just as able to use civillian accessable technology as their enemies are – and they often will use them in suprising and resoursfull ways and means.
They are not stupid or incompetent – save for their belief in destruction of the US and Israel; to assume that they are is to underestimate severely what they can do with the gear they have. The armed forces of Israel learned this in their last battle in southern Lebanon a few years ago; when the Hezbolla forces took the defensive and with the usage of cell phones, civillian scanning equipment to be found in any spy shop, and readilly availible satellite maps and such, learned of the Israeli moves and then countered them routinely.
Sun Tzu stated “To know yourself, and to know your advesary is to be victorious in 100 battles” in short know and understand both sides of the conflict; and few suprises will happen. Fail to do so, and there will be greater chances of suprise and failure in the conflict from your side or the enemy you take on.

These “brave” people are the bravest people in the world as long as it comes to shooting missiles from far off or for portraying for pictures and all those cozy little things. When it comes to everything else, these brave people are suddenly sending out little children that are too young to know any better as well as being brutalized and beaten and everything else they can think of. This way the children go to do the killing while these brave people are hiding behind the skirts of all those women that they say is worth nothing, whining, whimpering and crying hoping that they don’t personally have to get involved in anything dangerous. While they are doing this, they are praying to their dead little master asking him that if the child they picked to kill someone in their place get killed means that they get the 72 virgins for the child getting killed. What they don’t know is that they will be going to hell instead and their prize for doing this is that they WILL really get their 72 virgins, of course they may not be too thrilled when they find out that they will get 72 virgin pigs that they will have to live with and to take as wives. Of course, it may not work out so good if the pigs decide that these brave people aren’t good enough for the pigs to associate with. Then the rest of their eternity will be spent chasing after their pigs trying to convince them to marry him.
