West Point Cadet Sues Patti LaBelle’s Bodyguards For Beatdown

A West Point cadet is suing over injuries he received during Spring Break. But these were not the typical injuries one usually associates with college kids and Spring Break. Cadet Richard King was not hurt partying with his pals. The young cadet was beaten in the parking lot of Houston’s Bush International Airport, by Patti LaBelle’s bodyguards. He alleges that the bodyguards attacked him because he was standing too close to Ms. LaBelle’s luggage. They bodyguards tell a different story. And the Airport Security cameras offer an unvarnished replay of the event.
From our friends at KTRH News Radio in Houston;
A West Point cadet from Houston has filed a lawsuit against Patti LaBelle, her bodyguards and Bush Intercontinental Airport. He claims that he was viciously beaten by the LaBelle’s bodyguards for accidentally standing too close to her luggage.
The lawsuit was filed this week by cadet Richard King who claims he was seriously injured by the singer’s bodyguards after returning to Houston for spring break on March 11, 2011.

After the initial attack, King’s lawsuit alleges the two bodyguards came back, with a third, and began punching and shoving him until he fell and hit the back of his head on a concrete pillar.
The airport security video captures the beating here, as well as showing Ms. LaBelle posing for photos with police and security officers as Cadet King was being treated by EMS.
The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages, and Cadet King’s status at West Point has changed significantly since the incident;
His attorney John Raley says his client has been suspended from West Point as a result of the IAH event and placed in a “mentorship” program which will require active-duty status of at least a year.

After watching her pose for a picture with a uniformed officer next to a pool of blood minutes after her body gaurds beat the cadet I can say, God is just.

Posted on June 3, 2011 at 3:33pmI remember thinking that Ms. LaBelle was a waste when I saw the way she had treated her dog on “The Dog Whisperer”. She got this enormous Boerboel (think thats correct spelling) or African mastiff beacause it was an African dog. Then she locked it in an indoor cell for like 2 years, “tod afraid” to got near it untill there were cameras around. It turned out to be a wonderful dog, and she came across as a spoiled, heartless monster. So this comes really as no suprise. Just a waste.

And why would Ms. Labelle even need bodyguards, she hasn‘t done anything for years and I’m sure the only reason people recognized her is because she’s in a big car with bodyguards.

Since no person has the legal responsibilty to save your life (supreme court cases prove that this even applies to police whose job it is to protect you) that means that it is your responsibility alone to protect yourself. The only way that anyone can reasonably expect to be able to protect themselves nowadays is with a gun, so I say we all start packing heat and stop making repeat offenders.

These thu..er.bodyguards are highly professional(see SEIU job discription) They carefully observed a potential situation, offered a helpful suggestion, when no response was forthcoming, a more stringent verbal warning was issued, Again no response was ilicited, then and not before, they initiated a kinetic premptive striike, simply in order to protec and serve. Because of the level of their training and the heightened security measures for their employer who has got to not only over the hill, but down in the valley, they were able to gather the intelligence, calulate and coordinate a seamless blanket of the impending situation: You will notice that the length of time to accomplish this was somewhere between 7 and 13 seconds. That is truly the mark of a professional, whose mandate is to protect on of the premier entertainers of the Geritol generation!
In summation, I nwopuld hope that is a least one more camera angle available for review. Also, i would lke to add- – WELCOME TO ACIREMA!

The thugs were probably retired or off-duty cops, maybe even “former cops” that were tossed off the force for drugs/corruption/brutality. Probably a bit of “police brotherhood” was going on, the thugs and the cops were probably laughing together at the beating that the “dumb white boy” got, while the cops took “statements” and got a nice photo-op.
I hope the kids’ lawyer subpoenas the medical evidence from the EMTs/medical facility. Hopefully there’s some evidence (like blood) that proves he wasn’t drunk. If the kid was really smart, as soon as the cops gave him any hint that they thought he might be drunk (how much did you have to drink, son?), he demanded blood be drawn or a breathalyzer taken.

I read someplace she lowered the window and ordered the body guards to accost the young man. This woman is one I’ll remember with this image always in my mind. Who the hell does she think she is?
