Westboro Baptists Vow to Picket Funerals of AZ Shooting Victims

“God sent the shooter,” Westboro Baptist Church‘s Fred Phelps remarked in a new video posted online after Saturday’s tragic shooting played out in Tucscon, Ariz.

(Note: Phelps incorrectly identifies the alleged shooter, Jared Loughner, as an Afghanistan veteran.)

Through his own twisted logic, Phelps believes that Jared Loughner was sent by God to commit senseless murder, including the killing of 9-year-old Christina Taylor Greene:

Greene’s family says she was vibrant, excited about life, and she was the “best daughter in the world.”

Born September 11, 2001, Greene was excited about the political process, was on the student government, and went to the Giffords event Saturday to learn more about the political process, family members say.

Greene attended Mesa Verde Elementary School. She was the only girl on the Canyon Del Oro baseball team. She loved the sport, as well as horseback riding and swimming. She wanted to be a veterinarian.

    I call on all veterans and independent motorcycle organizations to do what you’ve done in the past here–go help keep peace if needed, otherwise just BE THERE. (ABATE, you listening?) I was so proud (but not really surprised) when I saw this occur before during one of these idiots’ protests. Hands off of course, but make your presence known, my patriotic brothers and sisters!

      Please call anyone you know that can help put an end to the Westboro cult. Many posts ago I suggested that a biker “social club” should show up at one of these “protests” and show these Westboro animals what a “protest” IS! The families of our fallen heroes, of children and anyone affected by a tragedy shouldn’t have to suffer through more pain caused by these thoughtless, ignorant and cruel bastards!
      Please if you are in AZ, don’t let the cultists near the funeral of this child or anyone else.

    I refuse to watch this fulmination. If everyone would just ignore these imbeciles and not give them a forum, they will go away. They thrive on attention.

    I suggest that the next time you see ANY article or news about these sicko freaks that you not respond to it, whether it’s online, in the newspaper or on TV. These are the last words I will ever write about these goombahs plagued with perpetual irritable bowel syndrome.

    Further, I suggest that everyone write Glenn, en mass, and tell him to quit giving them fuel.

    Hopefully in the near future some other sick looney will put them out of our misery in the mean time.

    Since i can‘t be in Az i will tell you out there there is a large gang of biker’s that are most likely ready and willing and may be on their way .Simply put the loons came here and found the places they had permits to protest from were covered and the biker‘s made absolutely positive they kept right on going clear out of the state and i didn’t have to go to jail for battery.Watch to see where they get permits for it might help to know a oath keeper in the area.

    At one point I remember reading at one of the funerals the good people made a human wall around the church where the funerals were being held. I heard it kept this group from picketing. Maybe something like this can prevent it. Fight evil with love! They aren’t there to show love, so fight them with love! Evil cant exist where the light shines!

    I was brought up a Baptist … and it hurts me deeply that these people would call themselves by that name. Baptist theology sees all persons as equal before God, all requiring grace and God’s intervention in our lives. What these people do cannot be in any way justifed through scripture … indeed just the opposite is true. If a person cannot love others … they cannot claim to know God — that‘s the Bible’s message.

      This pastor really needs to learn that God will never bring about evil to do his work. HE WON’T. God doesn’t have to use evil to do HIS will. But sometimes HE will let evil happen to change us. I don’t agree with this man at all, because he is going to lead a bunch of people astray. He got it wrong right off the bat, because he stated that it was an Afghanistan Veteran that committed this crime. From what I have heard is that this guy never served in the military.

      Just because people belong to a church and use the name of God….does not make them Christians. The Bible says Christians will be known by their love.       The pain of the families is nothing to them. The seriousness of the assassination attempt is nothing to them other than a chance to grab some time in spotlight.

      Someone said earlier in the thread that the shooter had some issues with his own sexuality. Don‘t know if that’s true or not, but wouldn’t that ironic?

      May God comfort the families of those who were murdered and protect them from this horrendous group of people who claim to represent His word.

      My question…is he now in the cross-hairs of God for lying?

      I wish someone would bring that up and question this guy. A Lie is a Lie, no matter whether you knew it or not, and God should hold you accountable correct? That is why I do not try and speak in absolutes.

      I once tried to learn how they think on things, so I could better understand their stances. I went to their website. You should read the responses on their FAQ’s page. While I understood some of their views, and almost agreed with them on some, I had to stop when I got to the question about Jews killing Jesus. The associated website’s name…these people don’t do this for the sake of God, they do it for the public following. They do not try and change hearts, they harden them. These people are misguided in their teachings, and their hearts have been corrupted by it. This is my opinion of course, but only God knows.

      If Westboro Baptist Church is correct about everything, I am not sure I would want their version of god as my God. For if they are made in his image and are following it true…

      I hope God will send an army of police to arrest these “Christians?” and escort them to jail, only to be released when they can pay an extra exorbitant amount of money to get out – alot more than they can afford hereby keeping them in jail for a very long time. Or pass a quick statute that doesn’t allow protests at funerals and, again, throw them in jail for a long time.

      Neofan, they have to be represented by someone. Or maybe you think that if someone doesn‘t share your views then they shouldn’t be represented at all.

      When I still attended church, we were taught to thank god for tragedies since it was supposed to be in control and nothing happened without its say so. It was all part of the ‘plan’.
