WH’s Valerie Jarrett Asks Uniformed Officer to Top Off Her Drink

Did someone have a few too many?WH’s Valerie Jarrett Asks Uniformed Officer to Top Off Her Drink

According to the Daily Caller, White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett asked a uniformed military officer to refresh her drink during an exclusive D.C. dinner party Monday evening, apparently mistaking him for a member of the wait staff:

According to our tipster, Jarrett was seated at the head table along with several other big-name politicians and a handful of high-ranking military officials. As an officer sporting several stars walked past Jarrett, she signaled for his attention and said, “I’d like another glass of wine.”…

White House economic adviser Austan Goolsbee, who was seated next to Jarret, began “cracking up nervously,” our tipster said, but no one pointed out to Jarrett that the man sporting a chestful of medals was not her waiter.

“The guy dutifully went up and got her a glass of wine, and then came back and gave it to her and took a seat at the table,” our tipster said. “Everyone is in tuxedos and gowns at this thing, but the military people are in full dress uniform.”

Last eveing, I took my daughter to a professional career interview at a Dr.’s office. A female patient, obviouly my senior, had just completed a visit with a member of the Dr.s’ staff and retrieved her coat from the coat rack. With NO prompting, I asked, :May I help you with that?” She was BEAMING that someone still knew how to ask to help a lady on with her coat. My only response was, “My father taught me well.” I doffered her up snug against the cold night air and watched as she walked with her head held high that such a courteous gesture had been offered.

As an aside, I was able to fit into my 27yr old ORIGINAL CrackerJacks last month to serve as a pall bearer for my late fathers’ cousin who was a decorated Vietnam Vet (CAPT, USMC). Damned if I didn’t smile with pride at the reflection in the mirror. Great trim of BROWN hair, a fit and presentable uniform, a soanking new Dixie cap that I had purchased only a few months ago, all worn with pride and respect. I looked as sharp as the Marine Reservists who presented the flag to his wife of 44 years.

I agree but something more interesting happened yesterday on O’Reilly that EVERYONE has overlooked. When Marc Lamont Hill was on with O he said he spoke with Jarrett earlier in the day before the ruling on Obamacare. Exactly why/ what about we dont know and this should be a a red flag to folks.

He is a hardcore radical progressive professor but nothing special to be speaking to someone so high up the food chain in govt. I dont recall any other prof’s, radical or not, being in contact with the Pres’s adviser. Was Ward Churchill in direct contact with the WH, more importantly the Pres’s senior advisor? Doesnt anyone find this odd for the run of the mill college professor? I do not think I am blowing this out of proprtion or making something out of nothing..

Some might consider Hill harmless but I do not agree I make no distinction btwn how radical of a progressive he is compared to say oh I dunno Van Jones! Why is he in contact with HER in the first place?

Do y’all remember, back a hundred years or so ago, when the women‘s movement hadn’t started yet when chivalry WASN’T dead? Of course you don’t, because even though you see yourselves as “correct thinkers” all you can do is look for the “D” or “R” and immediately have your cookie-cutter responses already cut and pasted before you have time to think.
On this story, i am ashamed of my fellow blazers who knee-jerked to respond to this.
Start thinking critically. Stop being reactionaries. This country will need as many critical thinkers as possible very soon, and most of you fail so far.

It wasn’t uncommon for WH staffers to tell high-ranking officers (LT Col and above) to get them coffee. The leftists are threatened by military officers. 22 years in the Air Force, at one time I may have looked like a bus driver, but never a waiter. There is no way you can mistake an officers uniform for a waiters, especially if he was wearing mess dress

You with me on this Sacred Honor?

Oh yeah i agree….but then, i was a Marine and how could you confuse our Dress Blues with anything other than a human moisture machine?
Lol, seriously, i see your point, and i believe she mistook the Officer for a waiter which was bad form, nothing more and nothing less, but the integrity of that General? was outstanding, never saying a word in rebuttal but instead serving her as if it was a party thrown during the Civil War, when then officers still saw themselves as the servants to any civilian.
Although, back then, the ladies at LEAST respected those officers/gentlemen.

A uniformed military officer with several stars and a chest full of medals walked by Jarrett and you‘re telling me as the senior advisor she doesn’t know what a military uniform looks like? That’s BS, she knew and was just flexing her muscles to see if that officer would comply. If he didn’t he could be transfer or fired. There is no respect for the military in this WH or administration.

Sacred Honor, the officers decorum is not in question here. Could the officer kindly looked at her and told her otherwise, of course he could of but instead he acted as a gentleman in spite of her and retrieved her another drink. However what is in question here is her maybe ineptness, her audacity possibly, her hubris would be accurate also. She was very much so disrespectful not only of his rank (while I realize the article never gave a specific rank, it is uncommon for lower ranking commissioned officers to attend such events, such is usually set for O-6′s and above) but it sounds as if she was rather boorish to him as a person. Her actions however seem to be right in step with the rest of this rather narcissistic and disrespectful administration, and walks in step with the level of regard or lack there of to be more precise that they give to not just the citizens of this nation but also my brothers and sisters in arms.

To that I stand by my words here, someone like her deserves no less than a letter of dismissal.

No, i can definately dig all that, but as a former Marine, and a Georgia boy, I ignored all that as it doesn’t matter in the face of duty. Did he later laugh about it and say to his (officer) buddy “can you BELIEVE what this &^%$ had me do??” You are damn right he did! And now he has a story to tell everyone always, which as a former military member, that is all we do. Collect stories.
My point was to mearly deflect the headline and topic from one that feeds the nacassistic meanderings of the typical poster here to one of Honor and Duty, to have them respect those serving in uniform as they deserve.
