WH Press Secretary Dismisses NYTimes, Wall Street Journal

During a Thursday press briefing, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs dismissed the potential impact of a story appearing in this weekend’s New York Times magazine — a story in which President Obama dismisses the idea of a shovel-ready jobs — by claiming that no one reads it.  Likewise, he said the Wall Street Journal lacks influence:

QUESTION: Can you elaborate a little bit on what the President meant when he said there’s no such thing as a shovel-ready project?  Does that mean that the stimulus on the infrastructure side has not been helpful to the economy?

ROBERT GIBBS: No, I — look, there are — more than 75,000 job-creating projects have been started as a result of the infrastructure investment in the Recovery Act.  Did every project start as quickly as you would have hoped?  No.  But 75,000 have. Investment in each state in improving the infrastructure of the roads, the bridges, the airports — fundamental investment in building a foundation for a stronger tomorrow, which was necessary and needed, and has created jobs, has led to economic growth.  The President has no second thoughts about that.

Q: Do you think that the timing of this self-criticism is helpful to Democrats going into this election?

GIBBS: No offense, I don’t think — I don’t know how many people will read the New York Times magazine.

“he said the Wall Street Journal lacks influence:”

Gibbs…Seriously? The Wall Street Journal lacks influence. Really? So the only news media that is influential are those that agree with The Presidents points of view. Is that really what you are saying. Ahhh, ahhh, ahhhh. I‘m surprised this clown didn’t direct the question to someone else which is his normal tactic.

Ask yourself, why? Why does Obama seem so stupid? He’s not, you know. Is all this just an act? Do we ever get to know what is really on the agenda?
I suppose that Obama is purposely fomenting racial hatred, creating issues where none existed before. Is that his strategy? It could lead to what Charles Manson called helter skelter…Is that what he wants? I know that the progressives NEED to get our firearms away from us…and they need the imposition of martial law to do it. Is this the reason the POTUS is acting so……UN-presidential? He’s exposed himself as out of touch with most Americans. He’s flubbed at establishing any trust in middle America. Is this on purpose? He’s wasted BILLIONS of our dollars
on non-sensical liberal ideas…is this to alienate us from the 90% of afro-Americans that will support him if he grew horns and a forked tail? I believe it more each day!!! There is something going on that is hidden. No-one could be that stupid…no-one could ever believe that any of his ideas are being accepted…unless…..there is some other progressive strategy that needs confusion to be successful. The man is a professional politician, he knows the score. There is something else going on.

Max, I don‘t accept anything at this point with regard to Obama’s intelligence. We keep getting told he‘s brilliant but where’s the evidence? How brilliant has he been when the ‘prompters weren’t on? Have his grades or writings from Harvard Law ever been released? SAT scores? We’ve all seen the articles suggesting that Ayers ghost-wrote his books, and others with anecdotes from Harvard Law classmates suggesting that Obama’s writings were sophomoric.

For now, we‘re simply being tasked to accept that he’s intelligent because (1) he makes a good delivery of a prepared speech that’s scrolling on a teleprompter (and even then we saw him stumble when the prompter wasn’t scrolling at the right speed) and (2) a bunch of people say so. Is that enough for the rest of you because I’m not buying.

If youre going to pull a number out of your heinie, why settle for just 75,000? You should have bumped it up to at least 250,000, seeing as how you are taking credit for any and all state run projects. You are getting soft, Gibbs.

Gibbs is a “mouth”, and nothing more. He is given specific “taking points”, usually on topics and agenda the POTUS wish’s to “nudge” us towards, or that place the administration in a good light.
As the “changing of the guard” occurs in DC, from progressive to consrvitive, we shall see the media shift gears as well. After all they like their paychecks. Therefor we can expect more questions off the “talking points”, but don’t expect Gibbs or this administration to provide answers to them. Gibbs won‘t because it’s his job to stick to the scripted “talking points, and to be non-commental to any thing else. And the POTUS won‘t because he doesn’t have to answer to the American people in any way, because thats how he thinks.

hey walk with me i found something you might like to read, since i sensed that you are intelligent, and would like this

i found a link to a condensed version of THE ROAD TO SERFDOM on BQI site……(.thanks milton ) it is a read, but is very inportant if you want to understand the beginning of socialism ( or central planning as the progressives call it now) and the surprising conclusions of the theme with what is actually happening today. the similarities are completely frightening, and after reading this you will really understand the goals of those in power now.

      here is the link http://www.iea.org.uk/files/upld-publication43pdf?.pdf

AND FOR ANY PEOPLE WHO CALL THEMSELVES LIBERALS/PROGRESSIVES……..this would be a good read, and will explain what your children will have to look forward to if you get what you want ………..trust me

A idea for a new series of movies involving Mr. Gibbs – The Lord of Deniability Responsibility.

It appears to me that Mr Gibbs simply spins away, attempts to, anything said by the White House staff or the President and Vice President.

The President himself said there were no “shovel-ready” jobs so that would tend to mean that none were ready to go. This man is just a obvious, and oblivious spider of spin.

This is the most accurate Gibbs he has ever said! I don’t know anyone who reads the NY Times, either. Or some people may read it, but they certainly don’t take it seriously.

But that does not excuse Obama for making distinct promises for “shovel-ready jobs“ when he was campaigning FOR the stimulus act and now saying ”there is no such thing as a shovel-ready job.”

For someone who is supposedly so goshdarn intelligent I have NEVER seen a President put his foot in his mouth more often than Barack Obama.
