What Are the Odd Figures Google Captured in the Swiss Sky That Are Making the Rounds Again?

This isn’t the first time this strange black and pink figure in the Switzerland sky has made it on the Internet and Google Street View junkie discussion boards, but it’s making a wave on the Internet again. Perhaps the resurgence is because of the recent hoopla over mysterious structures seen from Google Earth in China’s Gobi Desert. But, regardless, the fact that speculation over this image has been drawn out for more than year reveals how fascinated people are over what they can find using Google’s map and earth functions.
See the image for yourself on Google Maps here. If you use your cursor to move the map down the road, the floating images will follow you, getting blurrier as you move further toward the tunnel. Or, here’s a video that will do the work for you showing what was captured on Google Street View at 8877 Quarten, Switzerland:
The image was first discussed on Google, Yahoo and other like discussion boards, then was reported on by Gawker last year and has sparked Internet fascination ever since. The latest wave of discussion over the image occurred in August of this year and appears to be happening again.
So what have people attributed this anomaly to? Most speculation surrounds something like that of God or even Death and a young girl, which some have liked to Mario Bros. Princess Peach.
Some more realistic speculations have included a smudge on the camera, a bird or the blending of two images, such as a tree branch, together.
What do you think it is?

Posted on November 21, 2011 at 12:15pmBah. There’s nothing supernatural here. When Google takes the images, each vehicle has an array of cameras whose images are post processed and stitched together into a composite image. What I suspect happened here is that a moth, a leaf, mud, or some other debris landed on one of the cameras and none of the others. It‘s out of focus because it’s right on top of one of the lenses. When blended together into a composite image, the blurry debris appears to be floating.

This. And to add the spec of debris went on for miles and stayed relative to the direction of the car when it turned completely around and headed the other way…
[blurry debris appears to be floating.]
And appears on top of power lines and in the tunnels.
Why is this even a story I don’t know…

Posted on November 21, 2011 at 12:47pmPontiac, the strange thing is that when the car goes into tunnels, there is nothing there, however, as soon as it is back out in the light, it’s back. So much for the smashed bug theory.

There are 4 camera’s doing panned street shots, and camera(s) on top that do a 360deg shot of the sky. Then a program stitches all the images together (which may crop out much of the debris once the car is in the tunnel). The one(s) doing the sky shots had debris on them. This is the tunnel entry/exit on the road above your link with the car heading in the other direction.

Posted on November 21, 2011 at 6:13pmMore importantly, if people would carry their behinds outside frequently at night into the country away from the city lights or even sit on their own roof once in a while watching the sky, you may actually see some weird things which can not be explained by “Satellites.” And then, someday when you see someone post a video of exactly the same thing you actually witnessed in real life, then you will know it is the real deal.

Posted on November 21, 2011 at 10:40pmI know what this is; Back in 1975 a band called “Crack the Sky” released its first album called, “Crack the Sky”, they were originally known as ArcAngel. They got their second name by putting a taped up shoe box with a slit cut in the top in a mental ward gathering area (or TV room). They came back about a month latter, opened the box, and a single piece of paper inside read, “Crack the Sky”.
The black image is a crack in time and space and the pink image is a Human from a local mental ward, who has died, and ready to pass through the “crack in the sky” to some unknown place.
I hope you had as much fun reading this as I did typing it. And, the story about the band, “Crack the Sky” getting it’s name is true. I met them in Wash, DC. and heard it directly from them. I enjoyed their music back in my younger days. Some of you might enjoy their music now. I still have their album but, have nothing to play it on now. Guess I need to get a USB turntable! LMAO!!!!
