What Campaign Issue Should Romney Focus on? Scott Walker, Herman Cain, and Others Reveal Their Picks

Despite inclement weather and the threat of an impending hurricane, CNBC’s Larry Kudlow on Monday conducted multiple interviews from the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida.
Among those he spoke with were Govs. Mary Fallin (R-Okla.), Scott Walker (R-Wis.), Bob McDonnell (R-Va.), and former presidential candidate Herman Cain.
The topic: What should Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan focus on in order to win the White House?
This is what Kudlow’s guests had to say:
Gov. Mary Fallin & Herman Cain: Tax Reform
Herman Cain suggested Romney focus heavily on tax reform.
“They have a great start in terms of across the board tax cuts. But … I don’t think they’ve done enough yet. I’ve met with Governor Romney several times and I’m encouraging him to change the narrative, that is talk about tax code replacement,” he said.
Gov. Fallin agreed that the Romney campaign should focus on pro-growth tax reform.
“Governor Romney has a great vision for America – he’s going to keep taxes low and focus on the deficit and he’s going to be a job creator. And Paul Ryan has been a great budget hawk,” she said.
Gov. Scott Walker: Jobs
Gov. Walker said Romney needs to focus on three things in order to win the election: jobs, jobs, and jobs.
“(Romney) has to show how things will get better most of all with jobs. That’s how I won. That resonates with not only Republicans, but independents and some Democrats,” Gov. Walker said.
“When you look at the abundance of the battleground states they’re in the Midwest. There are a good number of swing voters who voted for Barack Obama and now realize that the economy isn’t any better and they made a mistake,” he added.
Gov. Bob McDonnell: Economy
Gov. McDonnell suggested Romney focus all his attention on the economy because that’s what voters are concerned about — not the “war on women” or supposed racial “dog whistles.”
“It’s all about jobs and the economy. We’ve got to get the greatest country on earth back to work. Things like trade and energy…. And we need to cut the corporate income tax. It’s the highest in the world and it’s killing us,” Gov. McDonnell said.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 6:56pmWHAT SINGLE issue should be focused on? Simple…..
How will the candidates SUPPORT and UPHOLD the US Constitution and restore as needed? ALL other topics flow from that base. Obama campaigned that he had contempt for the US Constitution then allegedly took the oath of office (flubbed it up and took it off camera by …of all people the US Supreme Court Justice Roberts who wouldn’t know a Constitutional violation if it fell on to his lap (gosh, it did ObamaCare). We were supposed to truth that Roberts got the oath right off screen that he didn’t get on screen as he was administering the Presidential Oath of Office).
Follow the Constitution — it will prescribe the limits on government activities; it will limit war activities; it will limit national spending; it will protect US jobs by not allowing the government to act outside the Constitution.
SINGLE FOCUS —- US CONSTITUTION……

Posted on August 29, 2012 at 2:21pmWell Romney should discuss something because up to now according to him and the repubs we cannot talk about his time as govenor ( because he was unpopular and that would bring up his healthcare plan and the individual mandate that he instituted and touted for the whole country until he didn’t) or his time at Bain Capital ( cause he really did destroy companies with LBO and sent jobs over seas) or his tax returns( which would show how such a patriotuc man keot money outside the US and also would show the everyday tax paying citizen just how much government welfare the rich get while complaining about entitlements) or even his budget ( which has no details and cannot even be scored by the CBO ) or abortion ( as he was prochoice until he wasn’t or that he stated that he was left of Ted Kennedy on gay marriage) so what the repubs picked as they have stated just someone who will rubber stamp the insane policies of the tea party…and repeat all the policies that destroyed America..

Posted on August 29, 2012 at 9:38amThe debt and the Middle Class losing a third of it’s worth. Obama is destroying the Middle Class. Trillions of debt have been repeated so much it has lost it’s meaning, break it down per family. Many Americans can’t get it through their dumb heads that we are broke as a nation. Tell those Americans that want to raise taxes that it won’t work. Our government has a spending problem and they will always spend all you give them and more no matter how much money you raise in taxes. Obama tried to spend our way out of our fiscal problems but any thinking American knew that wouldn’t work.

(anyone that thinks the unemployment rate is just over 8% is an idiot)
In many states (CA and OR to name two), the liberal governments there are so anti-business that NO ONE with half a brain will start a new venture. Small and medium-sized ompanies are moving out in droves, taking their highly trained employees with them. 1/2 of all private sector jobs since O was elected are in the state of Texas. That state knows how to entice new business development.

Posted on August 28, 2012 at 10:04pmLet’s focus on items much, much more important than the economy or jobs; and if we do, the economy/jobs will take care of itself.
Those items are the basic, fundamental liberties endowed by our Creator on ALL human beings (born and unborn) and delineated in the Bill of Rights.
If government gets back to allowing the citizens the free exercise of their Constitutional rights, the rest will take care of itself.

Posted on August 28, 2012 at 10:19pmWell we know that isn’t going to happen. They have no interest in our rights of they wouldn’t have voted to take them away. They have to focus on the economy. They need to tell everyone how they’re going to preserve the state, expand the military, cut taxes on the wealthy, and reduce the deficit and hope enough people are dumb enough to believe that’s possible.

Posted on August 28, 2012 at 10:32pmPerhaps we could go further in our adherence to the Constitution and the wishes of the Founding Fathers and dismantle our standing army. We must end our state of perpetual warfare and demand that our Congressmen accept their Constitutional rights and responsibilities to be the ones who must declare a state of war. We have seen Presidents use Congress as a rubber stamp to get the permission to send our professional army into places with-at best-extremely tenuous connections to national interests. Return to the standard of the citizen soldier and we’ll soon see how strongly Americans feel about having a military presence in every corner of the world.
This is the sort of Constitutional argument that I am not hearing from the Tea Party, and it makes me question their sincerity.

Posted on August 28, 2012 at 10:27pmThe left is making the rich richer and the poor poorer too. Every dollar they print to pay for social programs, which is merely paying bills thus giving money back to the rich, weakens everyone’s purchasing power. Anyone that has any money left over might as well spend it because they’re keeping the interest rates artificially low so their savings would be ate up by inflation. Folks can’t gain wealth through property because the death tax is so damned high no one can hold on to family property. Investing these days seems suicidal knowing how corrupt wall st. is and all the insider trading, knowing everythings going to come crashing down and the rich will know in advance and make out like thieves when it happens. I mean, I’ll agree with you that republicans are idiots, but they’re no worse than the guys your shilling for.
