What Connections Does Beck Make Between Van Jones’ Revolution Group & Occupy Wall St?

On radio Monday, Glenn Beck raised some concerns about the similarities between the Van Jones-affiliated STORM (Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement) and the Occupy movement. Specifically, he noted that “consensus” structure of dealing with conflict and sexual assault.

“(STORM) had sharp radical leadership and it was dynamic and exciting and yada, yada, yada. But what happened was that they started STORM as a loose cadre of collective whose structure borrowed from both the anarchist and communist traditions,” Beck explained. “And they would bring tomorrow in. They had a strict code of conduct and security protocols, and what was great is they would they would have this cadre organization model popular in the communist political tradition, but STORM had no designated leadership. See if this sounds familiar. And STORM borrowed from spokes model of the anarchist tradition. The group made all the decisions together by a modified consensus process.”

That, Beck said, led to the expectation that sexual assault allegations would be dealt with internally:

“There was some problems of sexual discrimination, there were problems of possible violence against women, and the women were like, ‘Hey, wait a minute. Aren’t you guys supposed to be against domestic violence? Aren’t you guys supposed to be…’ and they said, no, we have to solve this internally! Like good Marxists do. And that’s really why it kind of fell apart is because the group didn’t, you know, they didn’t see eye to eye on, you know, violence towards women. Isn’t that weird?”

The Occupiers across the country have also encouraged that sex assault within the camps be dealt with internally.

    Thankfully, while I work on Ohio State University’s campus, the shop I work in is closed on Veteran’s Day while Van Jones and his crew are visiting on 11/11. I’d rather not be in the midst of the nutsos.

    What I’m seeing is a perception among the liberals that the Public Education Monopoly has been successful enough in their campaign to indoctrinate our children into Marxists (they’ve been at it for over 30 years) that America is dumbed down enough to accept their arguments for change (slavery). I hope to God they’re wrong!

    Sad note: If you didn’t home school your children or send them to private school, they’re probably part of the problem!

    What they teach in American schools today: Global Warming is gospel, the Gospel is a myth, and Big Government would be God’s gift to humanity if God existed.

      My children ALL went to public schools, and every ONE of them would argue successfully with Van Jones and his ilk. Why? Because although I sent them to public schools, I did not abdicate their education 100% to those schools. I invested in my children, won their respect, discussed simple economics with them, and lived my life with a level of credibility such that they see how things REALLLY are, and can refute academic claptrap with real-life examples of micro economics. They all could and would take Van Jones argument apart in about 10 mins, if arguing with these idealogues couuld possibly matter.

    Beck is spot on it is a mixture of Communist and Anarchist tactics and I am sure they will respond soon on what he said. We already had a troll hear make a remark about it, something like nothing here folks move along. Frances Fox Piven, Van Jones, Bill Ayers, George Soros, and King Shamir Shabazz from the new Black Panthers are all involved. Michael Moore and his Hollywood buddies like Susan Sarandon and Matt Damon are guilty too.

    The Animal Farm thing wasn’t new to STORM, they just never learned from the lessons of the Weather Underground and other radical organizations.

    Glenn should know this is actually tied to COMMUNAL LIVING and UTOPIAN SOCIETIES, and other Progressivist social experiments.

    I find it funny how he manages to lump vastly differing political and religious ideologies into a coherent group. Groups that despise each other on every level somehow work wonders together in Beck’s mind.
    The only real time communists and anarchists worked together was during the Spanish civil war; and they still went after each other even though they had a common enemy.

      I have been watching the live feed of occupy wall street. last week members of the g a were openly criticizing van jones global revolution and said that van jones stole the movement. Since the g a at osw made these comments, there has been no live feed. This is breaking apart quicker then you relize and the radicals are controlling it all.: the children as human shields, pushing old womaen down stairs, Oakland riots, Rapes, overdose etc… What my have been a legit position on some of the corruption is completely lost now in the extremists running things. I believe there is too much heat inside these occupy locations that it is going to explode soon.

I believe some of our enemies in the world even cheered our little wannabe communist revolution. They are all working together to destroy the capitalist system that has created more wealth for more people than any other in the history of man.     Mr. Beck has been telling his listenership that he has repeatedly predicted that the economic system is unsustainable and is on the brink of collapse. If the system does collapse, Mr. Beck’s plan is to blame “The Communists” just like they did in Germany when the Reichstag burned during the 1930s. He is hoping that he has enough support at that time to institute the iron fisted dictatorship that he has repeated called for as our only salvation from social chaos.

    If the Occupy movement can adopt an anti-corruption platform instead of the disjointed messages, they will be much more respected. An Occupy member’s page http://owwc.gu.ma , supporting a business owner who lost millions of dollars to a corrupt officials, seems to go a long way in starting down that road.

      Welcome to the club :), after you take your lessons it is important to go to a range or someones land where it is legal and shoot LOTS. Practice loading, unloading, clearing, etc etc.

      Also, like we have done in our home, we have discussed how we would move to the kids rooms and where to cover and fire. I used to think I was crazy, my wife certainly did … now is seems to be a prudent excercise. Sad that its that way now…
