What Did Ann Coulter Really Say That Got Censored on MSNBC?

On Tuesday morning, Ann Coulter was bleeped for a sum total of 13 seconds on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” Initially, the Blaze reported that she was silenced for calling Arizona Sen. John McCain a “douche bag,” however Coulter offered up a different explanation on last night’s “Joy Behar Show.”

Behar said, “I saw you on ‘Morning Joe’ this morning and you were bleeped. What did you say?” Coulter responded, saying, “Well, I don’t want to be bleeped again, but I said ‘dickweed.’” Her explanation of the incident wasn’t bleeped and she proceeded to clarify her thoughts on McCain.

In the original MSNBC video, which shows the awkward 13 seconds of bleeping, Coulter pauses around the 18 second mark and appears to say, “What did I say?” Then, follows that up with seems like, “Oh, douche bag?,“ although the ”bag” is the only audio portion that isn’t covered up by the bleep.

Going back to the original MSNBC video, one will hear host Joe Scarborough saying, “Just blur it all out,“ after Coulter seems to ask if ”douche bag” was the reason for the censoring.

Considering the plural nature of Scarborough’s words, it may have been more than one comment that led to the silencing (i.e. perhaps it’s possible that both “dickweed” and “douche bag” were uttered). This would explain the long, 13-second bleep.

But Coulter maintains that she didn’t call McCain a “douche bag.” Yesterday, she tweeted the following message:

In an e-mail this afternoon, Coulter confirmed that she did, indeed, call McCain a “dickweed” — not a “douche bag.” She explained that, after seeing the reaction of the “Morning Joe” cast when she used the term, she asked if the word “douche bag” could, instead, be used on television. They apparently said “no.”

“The word is dickweed, which I thought was the polite term. It was very early in the morning, but I still can’t think of a better word,” she wrote. “Perhaps you could take a poll for a better a one-word description for: a grandstanding narcissist who insults conservatives in order to be called ‘brave’ by the mainstream media.”

      ELIASIM…..I do not feel burned at all, if there was truth in what I read , then maybe I would agree with you. The references to the bible are always in a subjective manner, as if there was some great insight. I read the bible to tell ME what to do. We need to get back to biblical government….yes I said it, a government that adheres to Godly prinicpals, not the progressive failures of Satan.       What kept things good here wasn’t the reserve currency standard it was a nation built around individual liberty and self responsibility.A nation of leaders not servents like those in Europe. With a stroke of a pen Bill Clinton Destroyed the economy with just one redistribution program the CRA. What will bring us back is removal of the Federal Government from the lives of the citizens from the businesses,from global nation building and weath redistribution.       The problem is that you didn’t say it enough. And you forgot his brother Lindsay. You’re there, just didn’t go far enough. The ones that go after you are part of the PC crowd that insists on giving McCain, Powell, Lieberman, Graham and the like a pass. The problem is that too many people are judged by their words, (ex: Obama), not their actions. It’s time for a changing of the guard. We’re on our way. The Kennedys, Dodd, Wiener, and now Fwank are gone. We should encourage the like of the afore-mentioned to join them and get new blood in there. We should also give Ron Paul and his supporters a little island that he can rule over, if that’s what you would call it. And of course it must not have internet access.       Dr. Paul’s proposal is to avoid putting ships like the USS Cole in Woggish seaports where Islamic whackjobs can paddle up rafts full of Semtex to blow big holes in them. Every time I hear older people saying, “If the younger generations were like the older generations then the country wouldn’t be so bad.” Yes, but it was the older generations who made the younger generations the way they are. And then I hear them say, “If we could all change to be like our grand parents then the country would be fixed.” Really? Didn’t we go through the generations of the grand parents and great grand parents, and yet we are at this point. Therefore going back in our mind to behave like them will not fix the country. Because they must have doing many things wrong. The only thing that will save America is a profound change in understanding, and a profound change in the approach of raising children.

      WWII vets came home with depression and PTSD. They raised their kids (boomers) like they were trained in the service, I give you an order and you do it. No questions. You just do it. When the kids reached the age of independence they rebelled against that by questioning all authority. THEY raised their kids (busters) the exact opposite! I’m not going to give you any orders. I’m going to let you do what ever you want! You’re mom and I are going to work, you have fun. THOSE kids (X’ers) were the 1st generation of latch-key-kids. They were never told no and Mom and Dad weren’t around. The Gen X’ers raised THEIR kids the opposite of their parents! We are going to be involved with the kids by doing all kinds of sports together and keeping them so busy they don’t feel like they are raising themselves. We are not going to let the kids feel different than other kids, we are going to keep them sheltered and non confrontational.

      How will the current 10 year olds raise THEIR kids?

    I love some of the comments. Some here say Coulter is no longer representative of conservatives and she shouldn’t be making these statements. Yet these same people are for a free market. Huh?

    She is an individual making statements on her own, not as a representative with policy statements from a group. She is a smart individual, not our representative. I just recently was having an intelligent conversation (or so I though) with a woman on Facebook. Until I wrote the word liberal. Boy, did she then show her true colors. She started spewing hate and misinformation, not only a about Ann Coulter, but about abortion and a whole slew of topics that the liberals are spreading around. Then when I tried to comment back to her I found that she blocked me from contacting her. She wanted to make sure she got her hatred out but didn’t want her liberal friends to see my common sense reply. I feel sorry for her and the rest of them because they are thinking from their hearts and not their heads. Common sense is what will save this political system.

Also, I think this is one of the greatest generations facing some very difficult challenges going forward. BTW if you want to succeed give up on whining about where the problems came from and who gave them to you. Prove yourself and overcome what you have. All of us have been dealt some form of crap in our lives and stewing about who, why etc. never helped one bit in rising above it. Just my old dog life lesson.

      I recently went on a trans atlantic cruise with mostly old geezers, it was horrid, 2 weeks with a bunch of ignorant grumpy old farts, bitching about how the food caused gave them the *****, how the pools sucked cause they never had water in them cause old idiots kept getting in the pools wearing diapers and filling the water with ****. Bitched that they couldn’t get but 3 tax payer bought scooters in the elevators at once and all the rude young people should get out of them so they could fit a 4th. It really reminded me how my parents generation had sold this nation out, and just what kind of people they are.

      This is to eliasim. It is time to wake up. I am a Christian first and one thing that I can say is that after my years of living is that you sir are a hypocrite. You pronounce judgement in God’s name at least by referencing the Bible yet do not provide remedy. Jesus did do that when He pronounced judgement. Look it up and you will see. Also in pointing fingers you do forget the ones pointing at you. I suggest looking in the mirror first before anything else comes out of your mouth. Since you are consumed by adoration of Ron Paul I strongly suggest a reality check as to what would happen if he was elected. It would be a complete failure unless he was elected dictator as Congress nor the Supreme Court would necessarily allow him to go unchecked.

    No respect for her as a supposed conservative any more. She’s nothing more than an elitist establishment talking head. Anyone that would support Christy and now Romney, well that says it all. Neither are true conservatives but are merely part of the republican establishment that in the end want the same basic things as the democrats, more power and control of our lives.

    Nothing you say means anything any more Coulter. We’re awake now and see right through you and others like you, Rove, etc.

    The real reason Morning Joe got all wound up were her next comments about Ted Kennedy. Calling him ‘human pestilence’ really upset the crew at the table. The show spent the next hour talking about how great Ted Kennedy was. The ‘douche bag’ comment about John McCain would have been fine with the crew.

    They also had to react after suspending one of their own after saying the President was acting like a ‘dick’.

      Your right. The fact that she called one of the leftwads sacred cows(literally) a human pestilence was the kicker. That stupid RINO joe and his little sidekick mika would love for the republicans to turn on each other. Ann is right about mclame though. If that fool had put as much effort in his bide for the presidency as he did in his last reelection to the senate we would not be in the mess we are in now. Everytime I hear him, mcconnell, brown, hatch, rove and the rest of those RINOS speak on tv or the radio it makes me want to puke. Sellouts.

    Ann, why do you even go on those shows? Sure, to sell books; keep you in the spotlight. I guess I undertand but it puts you in the second tier of conservatives, in my estimation.
