What Did This Former Senior Staffer Have to Say About Ron Paul’s Denial of 9/11 Conspiracy Theories?

Yesterday, Ron Paul told ABC News’ Jake Tapper that he never “bought into” 9/11 conspiracy theories and that it’s “complete nonsense” some would think otherwise. But a former aid has come forward urging the media to question Paul further on his stance on conspiracy theories and the resolution to enter Afghanistan.

According to Mediaite, Tapper quoted Paul’s former senior aid Eric Dondero as saying that Paul had “engaged in conspiracy theories” that included the potential that President George W. Bush had knowledge about the 9/11 attacks beforehand. When Tapper presented with this quote, Paul responded:

“Now, wait, wait, wait! Don’t go any further on that. That’s complete nonsense!”

“It’s nonsense? It’s not true?” Tapper asked.

“No, I never bought into that stuff, never talked about it. About the conspiracy of Bush — of Bush knowing about this?” Paul responded incredulously. “No, no, come on! Come on! Let’s be reasonable! That’s just off-the-wall!”

Watch the footage:

YID With LID has an exclusive from Dondero in response to Paul’s denial:

While it’s good to see the mainstream media taking these questions to Ron Paul directly, Tapper and others have not fully pressed him on the matter.

What Tapper should have followed up with, was simply asking Paul if he ever posited the theory that Bush “may” have known about the attacks ahead of time. Notice how Paul adds the caveat “About the conspiracy — of Bush [definitively] knowing about this.” That‘s not how it went down in Ron’s offices in the 9/11 immediate aftermath. It was Ron often couching his terms with “might have known,” or playing devil’s advocate as in the case of “what if.” This of course, gave him just enough wiggle room to claim that he never said that’s exactly what happened back then, or as he is doing presently.

[...]

I applaud Tapper and other media for pushing the issue. But by ignoring the specifics, they’ve allowed him just enough wiggle room to get out of answering the fundamental question: Did he or did he not originally support the resolution to go into Afghanistan. (And additionally, does he or does he not support American intervention in WWII to save the Jews from the Holocaust, not simply because Hitler made a declaration of War giving us no choice but to respond.)

Dondero challenges the media to press Paul further or contact his staffers from that time for evidence of Paul threatening to vote against going into Afghanistan.

DC Tea Party Founder Endorses Ron Paul
      Lisa Miller, Tea Party WDC
      December 30, 2011

I’ve been a supporter of Michele Bachmann since I founded Tea Party WDC in the spring of 2009. I’ve appreciated her stalwart support of Tea Party activities and in her speeches she maintained allegiance to our principles of fiscal responsibility, Constitutional limited government and free markets.

It wasn’t until I was sexually assaulted by a female TSA employee at Reagan National Airport in September on my way to Florida for the Tea Party Presidential debate that I took another look at her vote for the Patriot Act, which created the conditions for the assault. As the risk/benefit can’t justify the body x-rays or the pat downs on domestic flights I realized that there are all types of mal-investment. Preying upon fear is just another tactic to justify more government spending. As I live a few miles from the Pentagon, I realized that I had fallen for it too.

Then later in the Attorney General’s Presidential debate she said she supported Federal Tort Reform which conflicts with States rights. Before switching I reviewed the allegations against Dr. Ron Paul and found his mea culpa for not reviewing the massive volume of newsletters credible and his view of individuality reflected in his medical practice, his employment practices and his political views no (continued) http://www.ronpaul2012.com/2012/01/02/dc-tea-party-founder-endorses-ron-paul/

Ron Paul’s 9/11 answer draws boos from ‘tea party’ crowd

      September 12, 2011

Ron Paul, long a darling of such gatherings such as the one in Tampa on Monday, was roundly booed during the CNN/Tea Party debate for suggesting that American foreign policy helped contribute to the Sept. 11 attacks.

Paul was upbraided by former Sen. Rick Santorum, long a hawk on taking on radical Islam on a global scale.

Chairman Of the Tea Party CPAC Michael Lodispoto with Ron Paul at the Scranton PA Rally

I was once a big follower of Ron Paul and his Campaign for Liberty. I absolutely love the man, or at least love his policies for the domestic economy. Why I am saying this is if it weren’t for his foreign policy Ron could be in the White House right now. Unfortunately Libertarians of which I used to consider myself as one are a bit misguided when dealing with outside powers as well as a few major issues domestically. If we were all one united world and there were no evil nuts running around trying to kill us, Ron Paul’s way would be one of the smartest ways to run our government. Unfortunately reality is not that easy. There are enemies of America who would love nothing more than to blow up a few nukes or more in our cities. The whole planet does not think as we do

      Again YEP

You get a real hard on talking about Paul all day. You are a hater. This man has done more for this country than any of these other candidates. But you make fun of him for being a critical thinker. You make fun of him for being out of the main stream. You say libertines are liberals(that alone shows your ingorance) but if you would really study Paul. Instead of having this pre conceived thoughts. You would see that Paul is more like our founding fathers than any of these jokers. But you wont. You will remain loving the Fed. Worshiping the state taking away our rights. And bombing millions. Plus sending our sons and saughters off to die. Paul voted to go to afghanstain after 911. But thats not good enough for you war mongers. You wanna kill all muslims. Its a sad day for America when Paul does not become our next president. I know this man has faults. I know he does. But he is sssssooooo far better than what we have now, and what is in the rest of the field. But go ahead and continue to be a hater.

Murray Rothbard was the student of Ludwig Von Mises and a friend of Ayn Rand. Rothbard was a racist, and believed in the “voluntary” separation of the races… Mises, was an elitist with fascist tendencies. This part of libertarian history is a part that the libertarians would like to cover up. It slips out at times and has done so with Ron Paul, Rand Paul and others.

We know that Rothbard spoke kindly of David Duke, the KKK office seeker. One disaffected libertarian was dismayed that Rothbard would seek to align himself with a pure racist just because he believed in limited government. The only reason that Rothbard did not back a separate state for blacks was because he was afraid it would cost too much in “foreign aid”.

I encourage everyone to look up Von Mises, the Mises institute, Murray Rothbard, Austrian Economics then please do contrast with Keynesian Economics, Lord Meynard Keynes, Bretton Woods (that bankrupted our nation and was welfare on an international scale), the Jekyll Island meeting that formed the Federal Reserve AND how the federal reserves/progressive/neo-con economic system of choice is Keynsian Economics which Lord Keynes in his later years finally disavowed and said it did not work. :)

You see, human beings are more than just economic units – you’d think neo-cons and progressives would understand that point, but they just love Marx way too much to give up on the tragic re-writing of history that is our economics of today, yet they still cannot avoid consequences of ill-logic. The system has failed.

From a guy in the know ‘TARIAN. Just for shiites and giggles…

“I became familiar with Lew Rockwell and Ron Paul in the mid-1990’s after being introduced to Murray Rothbard, the now deceased Austrian economist. I became fascinated with the intersection of Austrian economics and the freedom movement. I attended every Von Mises Institute conference I could find, and read every book their movement ever published. Ron Paul spoke at every one of these events, and when I wasn’t listening to John Denton say that America had no business getting into World War II, or Bob Barr saying that the federal government (not Tim McVeigh) blew up the building in Oklahoma City, I was intrigued by much of what their movement had to say. As I got older and wiser, I began to realize that the heir of Friedrich Hayek was Milton Friedman, not Murray Rothbard, and that this “Austrian economics movement” was a front for an extremist form of anti-war zealotry. Every single conference break was filled with the most radical of conspiracy theorists you have ever heard, and the political intentions of the major brains behind their operation were not hidden: Utter anarchy. If I had a nickel for every time someone suggested that insurance companies could come replace the federal government in a given task, I would have a lot more nickels than these people have. But it was an educational experience for me, and my transition out of it began before 9/11.”

“I believe America is spending itself into oblivion. I believe that the Fed has embarked on a Keynesian mission that is going to result in dramatic monetary price inflation and currency depreciation. I believe the federal government has over-stepped its boundaries in nearly every single category one could imagine. But I do not see Ron Paul making a dent in any of these causes. Besides accusing Ben Bernanke in a Congressional panel a couple years ago of the Fed being involved in Watergate and secretly funneling money to Saddam Hussein, Ron Paul’s role in advancing the cause of limited government and a monetary policy of common sense is, shall we say, minimal. He uses every opportunity when in front of a microphone to advance the cause of military isolationism. It is a tragedy. Some how, some way, this guy has an audience, and he really does have an opportunity to impact the cause of freedom. But the tragedy of Ron Paul is that he has chosen to be more of a puppet for Lew Rockwell and the modern-day John Birchers of our society than he has for a sensible kind of freedom economics.”

He has virtually no accomplishments in 30 years in Congress (99.84% Failure rate). And he has buddy-ed up to KKK folks, Nazi sympathizers , and white supremacists. What a guy.

The MSM and other news outlets are hanging back to wait and see what happens in Iowa. If Ron Paul wins Iowa (or even comes in second), the Ron Paul Revolution is going to see “blow back” and Ron Paul’s “chickens coming home to roost” in a way befitting the new King of the attack and smear ad.

Older Americans will be reminded of Paul’s racist, bigoted and anti-semetic past while newer voters will be introduced (even more so than recently) to the crazy Uncle Ron that we older Americans knew and still know. Ron Paul will be pummeled into oblivion once again for the idiocy of his ideology. His naivete of the world around him, his Liberal… even left of Obama stances on foreign policy, not to mention his socially Liberal ideas regarding drug legalization. The commercials will write themselves… teenagers with needles in their arms, cities littered with rows of derelict drug abusers sleeping in the gutters.

His disrespect for our Military due to his anti-war pacifism. The years he has spent on the government dole doing absolutely nothing in Congress while making our Military feel like useless pawns around the world who are made to feel THEIR accomplishments were for nothing and not important.

Just wait until the media starts pointing out who REALLY supports Ron Paul, his close associates and the people who were his mentors along the way. It won’t be good for Ron Paul and his nattering nabobs, but it will be what he deserves… again.

Ron Paul said this afternoon that the failure of other Republican politicians to follow-through on their campaign promises has compelled his success in Iowa. With just over 24 hours until the caucuses, Paul remains a front runner in several voter surveys, including The Des Moines Register’s Iowa Poll.“(There’s a) dramatic realization of the failure of federal government and our politicians to deliver and they want something different,” the Texas congressman said, earning applause from a crowd of more than 300 in Cedar Rapids.Paul also told those gathered that his campaign had motivated those who have previously been turned off my politics.“There’s been a group that’s sort of been brought down, they haven’t been voting. Some never voted before, and finally feel energized.”

The next day-sept.11th after the attacks i expected him to alude to what he had said the previous day on his program. he never didand when I checked on the nethis archived show for sept.10-that last sentence had been deleted. I am sure he said what he said because when the attacks happened i remember what he had said immediately. The government did not plan the attacks but they obviously used them as a justification to to to set up a new militarty base in oil rich and secular-non fundamentalist iraq once arabia’s future seemed precarious due to alquada. Santorum will start WWIII if elected, but he‘s spouted so much garbage towards Gays and Muslims he’ll be glitter bombed daily – and why? Because it’s simply blowback for his behavior. I guess I’m done speaking with you, it’s hopeless that a rational thought exists within your universe. Your job must be to be a full-time Paulophobe propagandist, or you are unemployed.

Paul will never be the nominee. Most sane Americans will never vote for him as even Obama looks good next to him. I don’t personally know one person that supports this guy because he is too wacky.

I live in Iowa & many people support Paul. I don’t see any Romney supporters out here. Your lying. Paul is victorious!

Ron Paul: Jake, I have my Tin Foil hat on, you can’t read my thoughts. Ha Ha.

Jake Tapper: Dr Paul, I just asked you if you believe George Bush knew about 9/11 before the attack.

Ron Paul: Ha, see, you are trying to steal my second shakra. Al Gore told me you would do that. That is why I stuffed garlic in my pants. Shakra stealers hate garlic.

Jake Tapper: So is that why all your staff members breath smells like garlic?

Ron Paul: First rule of Paul Club, is you don’t ask about the garlic in the pants.

Jake Tapper: Dr Paul, are you still a serious candidate?

Ron Paul: Stop talking about Garlic, Jake. Foil hat!!!

Dr. Paul has already discredited the Media source on this and even The Blaze has decide to jump on him.

Your actions Blaze, are only gasoline on the fire of interest, as you further burn your credibility out.

I think Blaze needs to check the story before the publish. It’s Jake Tapper, not Trapper.

I agree. They really need to do more spell checks. It seems like they don’t have proof readers. I would think they could use a simple and free spell check program.

I guess that would be too much work.
