The anti-war movement in America reached a fever pitch during the George W. Bush administration, but Reason.tv wonders where the activists have gone since President Barack Obama took over the Oval Office and continued many of the same foreign policy initiatives of his predecessor:

Posted on January 23, 2011 at 11:00amThe war is a problem only when George Bush is a president Peta, NOW, PLanned Parenthood, Greenpeace, environmentalists and the hundreds of Soros funded progressive groups have slithered back into their holes waiting for the next republican to surface. When that happens these virulent “anti-war groups “will crawl out with their feigned anger. It turns out that the conservatives are correct all these global warming scam artists and the above mentioned anti-war groups have no real basis for their anger other than the funds they receive form Soros and other anti-american groups.
Report Post »The chant of “stop the war, fix the planet, abort whatever you wish” proves to be nothing but loudmouth farce.

Posted on January 23, 2011 at 10:37amSo ironic that these same types of people were so adamant about the fact that their anti-war dissent during the Bush administration was patriotic…but they can’t bring themselves to afford us the same right to dissent when it comes to an oppressive, socialist takeover of our Constitution and way of life.

Posted on January 23, 2011 at 10:08amIt is all about power and who controls the levers. The Demorats got the power in ‘08 and the anti-war types don’t want to bring heat down on O Blah Blah. These people are like abused spouses and will remain quiet as O Blah Blah continues Bush’s war policies and in some instances has uped the ante. And, if O Blah Blah loses in 2012 and the new president continues with his policies, does anyone really expect these rabble rousers to stay home?

Posted on January 22, 2011 at 10:49pmObama and the progressives want to spend us into oblivion any way they can. Repubs do too. Everyone knows nothing will change in Afghanistan. Our soldiers can’t touch the poppy fields. Let’s just play politics with our soldiers (sons and daughters). Get the h— out of there. We’re over there farting around while Iran is making nuclear bombs.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 1:59pmYou might add that wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were the first ever in US history that were totally unfunded by tax increases, and are a large part of the reason why we’re now merrily spending our way into oblivion. Unlike many, I do not consider G. W. Bush a stupid man, but failing to ask Americans for even nominal sacrifices was one of the stupidest things he did.

Even though taxbama has done more for big business than the idiot we had prior (idiot because of what he did, not because of his poor verbal skills) they see the ned game. And that is why. Anti war was really anti GOP, same reason why they said nothing about ill bill’s bombings. Divided country all politically motived….all.

Posted on January 21, 2011 at 9:08pmIn October of 1992 I could not sleep. I was worried sick about the homeless problem. I was thinking of picking someone off the street to bring home with me. What had G. Bush Sr. been doing for 4 years?
Report Post »It was on TV nightly…every network covered it. CNN covered it, (there was no FOX at the time.) On Jan. 20th, the day Bill Clinton took office I NEVER heard it covered quite the same way, again. Clinton magically made it disappear…over night. I am NOT surprised about the Anti-war movement vanishing on Jan. 20th of 2008. They think we are sooooo stupid.

Posted on January 22, 2011 at 10:57amPAULTHECONSULTANT, you are right on point. The Socialist Culture of Death Elitist Democrats and their media allies think they can manipulate the people. They’re having a hard time getting away with it now because many have awakened, once again. The people see that the homeless and poor remain, whether Democrats or Republicans are in office. They see that there are still bad people in the world who want to kill us, regardless of party in power. Our Founding Fathers saw it from the beginning. That’s why our Constitution reads the way it does. Here’s a quote from a former Democrat President that even the radical Leftists claim to respect:”Whatever enables us to go to war, secures our peace.”

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 1:53pmDo you recall that the US was in a recession in 1992?
Or that Clinton’s election more or less coincided with (though it by no means caused) an economic recovery that lasted until 2000?
Isn’t homelessness likely to increase and become more apparent in hard times, and to become less visible (therefore less newsworthy) in good times?

Posted on January 22, 2011 at 4:25amI’m sorry WalkWithMe, but that doesn’t seem to make any sense at all for me. Yes, the Iraq war is drawing to a close, but most of the groups protesting were protesting both the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts later in Bush’s term. Understandable that they would have gotten quieter once the timetables was announced, but just look at how abruptly it all seemed to go silent. When President Obama started there was no definite drawdown scheduled for a while in Iraq, and even with the drawdown, there is still a garrison force over there of nearly 50,000. Meanwhile, the Afghan conflict has been escalating, hundreds more troops killed, more reserves and national guard units being funneled in, and a lot more collateral damage. Even with the timetable in place, from what the higher ups are saying, this one could end up going on a lot further than previously thought. And yet, in spite of everything that says President Obama is following President Bush’s strategy to the letter, there has been nothing. No cindy sheehans, no nationwide protests, hardly any word at all from the media outlets. So please try to understand why this looks suspicious to many of us.

Wow! Ever the leftist hypocrit this one. It’s a valid question. Here’s another. Why aren’t national fuel prices being blasted on every newscast? Or, how about the death toll in AF and IQ (again, EVERYday on news casts)? NO excuse. The fighting is over in Iraq? Right……Tell that to the soldiers who are killed there. Liar, liar, pants on fire. I guess they had to make a decision as to which “CRISIS” is most important for them to take advantage of . It is a little hard for the progressives to protest a war that their leader has yet to end.
