What Happens if Obama Wins?

On Tuesday evening Glenn Beck declared that if Barack Obama is reelected president, Americans will have only themselves to thank and will, essentially, reap what they deserve. He qualified that it pained him to admit such truths, but stressed that it is far better to deal with “harsh warnings” than the harsh consequences of a second Obama presidency. He ceded that during the 2008 election, Americans, being the consummate optimists, hoped to believe the best about Barack Obama when he emerged on the political scene. While the warning signs were there the public was “blinded” by the moment. “This time around there is no excuse, we will get exactly what we deserve,” Beck said.

Beck posited that under another Obama presidency America could become vulnerable to additional terrorist attacks and that the threats to Israel would mount as anti-Semitism rises across the globe. Likewise, record deficits, spending, bailouts, rising unemployment and corruption along with unsustainable investments (like Solyndra) will all boil down to disaster. He added that the economy both here and abroad could likely collapse and that the Muslim Brotherhood will begin to see success as it morphs from Islamic militant group to the architects of a far-reaching, anti-Western caliphate.

The usual suspects

So what, exactly, would the country look like during and after a second Obama term?

Aside from the possible outcomes Beck outlined, are increases in defense cuts and “green energy” investments — sound or otherwise. In turn, should President Obama occupy the Oval Office for another four years, it is almost definite that the Affordable Care Act will not be reformed in any meaningful or significant way, even if Republicans keep the House and take the Senate.

But while speculation abounds, Obama has  been far from reticent in voicing exactly what he himself would like to accomplish if reelected. At the end of March, the president detailed his second-term priorities which include immigration reform, energy reform with an emphasis on climate change, education reform and executing an “effective transition out of Afghanistan.”

Of course, a 2012 agenda would not be complete without tackling the deficit, which Obama proposes to do by raising taxes on the nation’s high income earners. Some believe a continuation of these failed economic policies will only result in America’s credit rating declining even further. Since liberals have shown little desire to curb spending or truly address entitlement reform, the country’s S&P rating is ”practically guaranteed to drop at least another notch,” by some report’s estimations.

More than meets the eye

As we seek to glean additional insight into the years 2012-2016 under an Obama presidency, one cannot help but look to Dinesh D’Souza and his recently released documentary by a similar name: “2016: Obama’s America,” in which the author posits that the president’s deep-rooted anti-colonial worldview will result in the downsizing of America. D’Souza explores the potential “global reparations” that would be doled out by a second-term Obama administration seeking to reduce America’s footprint in the world. According to D’Souza, so deep is Obama’s anti-colonialism, that he seeks to aid the world’s “99%,” not just America’s. The logic adds up when one considers that if the president truly does believe the U.S. to be an imperialist, aggressor state that has “stepped on” other countries, then by that same token he would seek to make amends with said countries and bring America back down to size.

“So, anti-colonialism is a program of global reparations, not racial reparations,” the author said in an interview with the Christian Post. “It’s reparations for global injustice. Obama’s goal is to shrink America. He wants to reduce America’s footprint in the world because he thinks we are stepping on the world. He wants to redistribute money away from the rich and toward the poor. But we are not talking about the rich and the poor in America solely. We are talking about a redistribution of income away from the rich countries – America included – toward the poor countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, and so on.”

In fact, if one looks not very far back, Obama seemed fixated on the Brazilian oil industry, offering Petrobras oil company $2 billion in loan subsidies to encourage the very same kind of offshore oil exploration he deemed verboten in America. Ironically, Human Events noted that the president’s offshore drilling moratorium had already cost the U.S. economy over a billion dollars and some 20,000 jobs at the time.

Thus, D‘Souza’s observation that Obama is preoccupied with giving a leg up to other countries “in need” while at the same time demoting American progress could be an astute one.

Redistributing suburbs’ wealth?

As highlighted on the Blaze Blog is the president’s dubious plan to rob from the suburbs to give to the cities. Yes, you read that correctly. According to a Stanley Kurtz at Forbes, another second-term plan of Obama’s includes an initiative to “systematically redistribute the wealth of America’s suburbs to the cities.” The project has been crafted in collaboration with one of Obama’s community organizing mentors, Mike Kruglik.

Kurtz explains:

Kruglik’s new group, Building One America, advocates “regional tax-base sharing,” a practice by which suburban tax money is directly redistributed to nearby cities and less-well-off “inner-ring” suburbs.  Kruglik’s group also favors a raft of policies designed to coerce people out of their cars and force suburbanites (with their tax money) back into densely packed cities.

To wit, the Sustainable Communities Initiative is now setting up planning commissions across the nation with “regional equity” and “smart growth” as goals — each code words, of course.  According to Kurtz, “regional equity” means that:

…by their mere existence, suburbs cheat the people who live in cities.  It means, “Let’s spread the suburbs’ wealth around” – i.e., take from the suburbanites to give to the urban poor. “Smart growth” means, “Quit building sub-divisions and malls, and move back to where mass transit can shuttle you between your 800 square foot apartment in an urban tower and your downtown job.”

The author suspects that said planning commissions will soon issue “recommendations” which Obama would directly turn into requirements for additional federal aid — not far fetched considering his administration has used these very tactics to impose federal education requirements on certain states.  Further, Kurtz believes one of Obama’s motivations for targeting suburbs is to “undercut the autonomy of suburban school districts.”

Other milestones the president may seek to achieve

Some conservatives also posit that a second-term Obama administration would create a modern version of Franklin Roosevelt’s Works Progress Administration program, thus creating a new bureaucracy with which to expand government. Following suit would potentially be a proposal for an increase in the minimum wage and even mandates forcing businesses to provide or extend paid benefits to employees seeking bereavement, sick or maternity leave.

Among Townhall’s “7 things to expect” if Obama is re-elected, are an increase in taxes on the middle class (this is already a given when Obamacare is enacted); gas and energy prices would sky-rocket under the burden of cap and trade and the president’s “doubling down” on green energy investments. This prediction seems all the more plausible when taking into consideration the following statements Townhall reminds us of:

Obama once said, “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.” His Energy Secretary Steven Chu added, “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”

Perhaps that is why the president blocked development of Keystone oil pipeline and banned drilling in ANWR.

SCOTUS moves to left?

Another interesting point Townhall’s recent review brings up is that The Supreme Court could very well move further left. Currently, four of the justices including Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer are well over the age of 70. Replacing any of them them with younger, left-leaning judges would guarantee the president five SCOTUS votes to use as his “wild card.”

Of course gun control will be a priority:

Barack Obama filled out a “questionnaire in which he called for banning ‘the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns‘” and he let everyone know what he thought about gun owners even before he was elected with his notorious “bitter clingers” quip. His campaign website doesn’t even have a section addressing 2nd Amendment issues, perhaps because Obama would have to admit that he’s already calling for a reinstatement of the Assault Weapons Ban.

And no second-term Obama presidency would be complete without at least one renewed attempt to close Guantanamo Bay, especially if his phase-out efforts in Afghanistan fall short of the mark.

At the end of the day, the policies Obama has already enacted in his first term are indelibly etched into the nation’s framework. A second term, where the president may feel more liberated to take even greater risks, can only guarantee that which he so desires: a fundamental transformation of America.

Obama’s second term will finish the destruction of our nation lead to a 3rd world war and a Civil war here at home. Its going to be bad enough trying to overcome the financial disaster he has caused with him gone. As a small businessman we have suffered terribly under Obama,Its not going to be my fault if he’s re elected, I didn’t vote for him in 2008 either.. We don’t deserve what he has done to us now. But this much I Promise, I will fight before I do another 4 yrs Of the communist dictator Obama.

Actually it will be Civil War part One. In 1861 the Confederate States of America was established. We seceded from the The Republic of the United States Of America. We had no intention of over throwing the established government of said Republic. We had every legal right to do so, Lincoln broke the law when he invaded the South. A CIVIL WAR; When people attempt to over throw their government. Secession is when a group attempts to separate from the established government and create their own. The C.S.A would not have invaded the North had we not been invaded. God Bless Robert Edwin Lee and the Second Confederate States of America. May it never come to pass. Yaweh forgive us and keep the United States of America intact, beautiful, free and strong. Will the South rise again? If we do , this time we will not lose.

To HayesStephen’s point, it might not even be Civil War 1. I could see the majority of the states in the country just wanting to leave and start again, rather than attempt to overthrow the government.

Leave behind the north east and west coast, let them keep everything.
Once they go bankrupt (I’d give them a decade tops) we can buy everything back at fire sale prices.

The same banks that were nazi sympathizers like JP Morgan Chase. Dont believe me? The chase symbol is a swastika it just looks different. Draw a Swastia in the middle and you will see. ================================

That wasn’t an option for Lincoln in 1861….the U.S. Treasury was nearing bankruptcy at the time and that would have meant that Lincoln could no longer spend the South’s money any longer:

      ———————————
What Shall Be Done for a Revenue?
      New York Evening Post
      March 12, 1861

There are some difficulties attending the collection of the revenue in the seceding states which it will be well to look at attentively.

That either the revenue from duties must be collected in the ports of the rebel states, or the ports must be closed to importations from abroad, is generally admitted. If neither of these things be done, our revenue laws are substantially repealed; the sources which supply our treasury will be dried up; we shall have no money to carry on the government; the nation will become bankrupt before the next crop of corn is ripe.

The city folk are too weak and stupid! However, as much as I love this country I am in agreement with @HALGAR. Let the left have the east and west coast. We will take the midwest and south.Give the left about 20 years and it will collapse on itself and we can come in and save the day, ONCE AGAIN. Except this time we will go strickly by the constitution, no variations or amendments. It’s called common sense. obama says he is trying to fix things. He is a LIAR and we all know it, even the left. They have no morals, no principles and will follow any nut job staight into hell, as long as they are not republicans! OBAMA IS A DESTROYER and the “Building One America” people PROVE IT! Raging, Ron Paul is not our Messiah, that is something you hear from other posters and media who do not understand anything about the Liberty Movement. Granted, Ron Paul was a catalyst for this grassroots movement that started the Tea Party on Dec. 16, 2007, but this movement grew beyond him quickly. Did we stop when Ron Paul stopped campaigning? No. Did we stop when his son, Rand, endorsed Romney? No. Did we stop after Team Romney and the establishment GOP broke rules to stop us? No. If Ron Paul does not get nominated at the convention, do you think we will quit? Not no, but HeII No! We will write in his name on every one of our ballots. We will get back up and fight for other Liberty candidates in every race in every position in our government. We will continue to fight for and gain chair positions in every sector of the state parties. We are not like many in the party, we are not quitters to Liberty, we will not give up our principles, we will not vote for an establishment candidate that would run his campaign as bad as our opposition, Barack Obama! We will fight through, we will hold our heads high and we will prevail in the end. So you go ahead and vote for a candidate that you know in your heart is not a conservative, and we will vote for a conservative. We will all see the outcome together.

I don’t think of him as a messiah. I think he the only non prog in the race. Now we have a choice between a socialist and a fascist. I have to put my trust in men, which is disappointing, because I don’t know if god exists or not. With RP we had 30 years of voting where, not once, did he vote against the constitution. Everyone else seems to care less about the Constitution. I’ve been in theater twice, and I’m disgusted by war. The other guys all seem fine with it. I know my cynicism creeps in most of my posts, but all I see is corruption and nothing changing from the status quo. And after thinking about it I am guilty of trying to divide. I’d like to divide the proud and diehard progressives from the folks that have been decieved by media progaganda. I’d like for the latter group to unite with me behind the Constitution and demand real change. Now let me ask you… aren’t you concerned with the way the RNC has conducted itself throughout the primaries and the cnadidate that they shoved down our throats, or do you believe everything was honest throughout the primaries?

Let me ask you some grown up questions. Are you for the Patriot Act and the NDAA? Are you for big government? Are you for states rights? Are you for individual freedom? Are you for the “Bill of Rights?” Please answer the adult questions, never mind the childish ones.

JustAngry is right about my service. I am 55 years old, a Vietnam ERA (just for you Time_2) Veteran and have been blind and a sheeple for many years until 2008. I wish more people would wake up to the fact that our two party system is not here anymore and is just one now. The establishment is on both sides and they do not care who gets elected as long as they pick the candidate. There present choice is for the Patriot Act, would have signed the NDAA as written (his own words), picked a VP, that even though he has somewhat of a conservative record, voted for the Patriot Act, NDAA and in my opinion, both are not worthy to call themselves true Americans. True Americans would never be for or vote yes on any “Bill of Rights” killing legislation. I will not vote for a candidate that I do not deem worthy for the position of President or Vice President. All of you need to wake up and not be spoilers to the Constitution. Paul can still be nominated and he actually would do the right thing by the Constitution.

@Westcoastpatriot, sorry but you are wrong. When Ron Paul announced his run for the 2008 Presidency on Dec. 16th, 2007, he recieved 6.04 money bomb into his campaign, which was the largest 1 day Political Donation. After that the RP TEA Party movement of 2007 fizzled – popped and never gained much nationwide traction. The TEA Party movement of 2009 has been the most successful challenge to the two party system since Lincoln won the 1860 election in a 4-way race, getting just under 40% of the popular vote. It began on the same basic theme of “Taxed enough already” but after the rushed passage of 0bozo’s porkulus package and introduction of HR 3200 (first draft of 0bozoTax) citizens all over the USA were waiting and ready to pounce on their elected officials at town-hall meetings during the Aug. 2009 recess. The rest is history.
It takes only a few Minuets too look up facts, but I know you will dispute this because Facts don’t mean anything to Paulbots.

Pud, You can spin it any way you want. Ron Paul was and is considered the grandfather of the Tea Party and it started with the premise of, like you said, taxed enough already and also, end the FED, small government and Constitutional principles. What you are talking about is the co-opting of the Tea Party message. I just believe that the Tea Party that was co-opted by establishment types have done a disservice to the entire message. Romney is a socialist, not quite as bad as Obama, but a socialist just the same. He believes in big government and that is the root of socialism. We cannot handle another 4-8 years of any type of socialism, whether it is Marxism or Fascism or any other type of big government. I wish you could see this.

No insult intended. Sorry. I HONOR YOUR SERVICE AND THANK YOU!!!

But, if you both have served you should understand this one point.

“Do you go into a losing battle or try to change the battle field?”

Paul can’t win “now” and because of his age and attitude will never win. Back his son and I could get on board…maybe… But if you think I am Republican, I am not, I am a registered conservative but first an American.

You are Americans, so the battle in front of you, for now, is OBAMA or ROMNEY!

You have to ask yourself which one is more American to YOU!?

If Obama wins again, America loses. It’s just that simple.

Another term means that the illegals will turn legal and the legal (tax payers, law abiding citizens) will have their basic rights taken away (no amendment will stay as originally intended), money, possessions and pension will all lose value if not turn to ash.

I predict a significant immigration to Canada, Australia and New Zealand and these countries will be foolish not to try and put some effort into attracting High-tech companies, university Professors, engineers and even medical specialists/doctors.

Given the diminishing personal safety factor, I wouldn’t be surprised if even China will try to attract these people by creating a new Hong Kong in one of their empty new cities…

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

6Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
      7For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

      @Encinom

When you have read the entire Bible, and understand it’s meaning, then please get back to us.

1Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
2And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
3But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
4As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
7Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
8But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
9But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
In this scripture Paul is talking about Christians who ate meat that was sacrificed to idols, which was forbidden by Jewish law. But Gentile Christians didn’t know Jewish law. God was God, and meat was meat. Paul told those who knew the meat was just meat, because they worshipped God and not the idols, not to be a stumbling block to those who didn’t see it that way.

Is the fact some eat pork and shellfish, and do not honor kill, a stumbling block to you, Encinom, or is it really another matter entirely?

I think Obama will be elected, and I blame the media (GB included) first for the blackout then for the failed reporting of the fraud by the RNC that occurred during the primaries and is still happening with removing elected delegates. I hope the 100 mil. to play ball with the establishment was worth it. Of course he doesn’t speculate on the alternative… Romney wins and attacks Iran. Russia and China join in and WW3 breaks out and the entire world goes up in smoke.

Democrat liberal democrat liberal democrat liberal, While totally being blind to the republicans party’s wrong doings. Some say we will vote the evil republicans out… Well how did the 2010 tea party candidates work out? Most of the district elections in virginia reelected the same crooks.

@Barber, I’ve finally seen the first mention by a Libertarian leader stating what they think us people that actually believe in the Constitution should do this time around. Simply not vote. His reasoning is we don’t have a real choice or the lesser of two evils. We have a socialist or a fascist, so even participating gives the eventual winner validity that they’re legitimate. By abstaining we reject both of their authority to rule us outside the confines of the Constitution. Take it how you like, but we’re definitely not Obama supporters and that lie is driving me nuts. You have no evidence to support your propaganda only flawed logic. I personally am still going to write in Ron Paul because I have a feeling if I don’t vote, someone else will do it for me and I’d hate to think that my vote would be cast for either of these douche bags.

First, all imaginary creatures will be rounded up, Unicorns, Pixies, Moderate Democrats, etc…..then their tears and organs will be harvested and made into a magical “Obama Gas” for our entire nation to run on. Every Volt and Shoebox will get 100 gazillion Obama Miles to the gallon, all households will have equal stuff, and everyone will get their very own doctor, and a lolipop. In fact, his Father will come back from the dead and give Barry a big hug and tell him how proud he is that he brought America to her knees, something he could never get Stanely Ann to do.

Nah, I see something along of a bad Rerun of a cross between Schindlers List and Hogan’s Heroes…we all get sent to a Stalag, but there is a loveable dopey Sgt. that will make us laugh, before dropping the gas canister in the showers.

Shall we compare Ryan‘s record to Obama’s record? We can even go back to Obama’s days in the Illinois senate. At least Ryan takes a position on things, right or wrong, popular or not. President Obama prefers to vote present. Your argument is hollow.

These predictions are quite tame as compared to what I see on the horizon of a second obama term. We will be attacked from within and without. Christians, conservatives and capitalists will all be targeted. Oh, and what exactly did they do with those GPS coordinates to all of our homes? I don‘t think I’ll see much sleep after November if he wins.

Beck needs to keep the dwindling supporters of his distracted with paranoid rants. The truth is Romney/Ryan seek to rob the working and middle class to give more and more tax breaks to the rich. The Ryan plan with reduce the top tax rate, the rate that Romney schemes and scams to avoid paying down to 1%. Beck needs to keep the sheep scared and not thinking.

What do Conservative Christians know about freedom, when they seek to destroy the secular republic and replace it with a theocracy? What do they know about freedom, when they seek to deny a basic right and freedom, the freedom to marry, to fellow Americans for no reason other than an collection of Bronze Age myths tells them so.

Keeping us out of foreign entanglements – I translate that to mean nonsupport of Israel when that country ultimately engages in the fight for its existence. Dave, you are an antisemite to the core just like the rest of the leftists. Obama will capitulate with any Islamic extremist who comes down the pike – he supported the Arab Spring, which cemented the Moslem Brotherhood into power positions in the middle east. That kind of “nonengagement” is what Woodrow Wilson did during the Armenian Holocaust, and that was because people like yourself were his voting base.

It’s called “Fool Me Twice: Obama’s Shocking Plans for the Next Four Years Exposed” by Aaron Klein and Brenda Elliott. I just started reading it, so I can’t say whether or not it is worth the read, but the book is getting really good reviews.
