What Percentage of Americans Have NEVER Heard of Ed Schultz or Rachel Maddow?

There is much to examine in the new POLITICO/George Washington University Battleground Poll that looks at media preferences among Americans. Fox News will love this poll:
Among cable news channels, Fox was the clear winner, with 42 percent of respondents saying it is their main source, compared with 30 percent who cited CNN and 12 percent who rely on MSNBC.
Once you get past the substantive analysis — the fun stuff is on page two:
Fox’s opinionated personalities were also rated as having the greatest positive impact on the political debate in the country. Bill O’Reilly was rated as having, by far, the greatest positive impact, with 49 percent of respondents rating him positively, and 32 percent negatively.
Glenn Beck was the second most-positively rated personality, with 38 percent of respondents saying he had a positive impact, and 32 percent saying he had a negative impact.
And once you get past the fun stuff — you get to the really good part:
MSNBC’s personalities were largely ranked as unknown by respondents: 70 percent said they had never heard of Ed Schultz, 55 percent said they had never heard of Rachel Maddow and 42 percent said they had never heard of Keith Olbermann.
I suppose there is some bad news here — 30% of Americans actually have heard of Ed Schultz. Or maybe they were confusing him with someone else:
Just for fun here is Ed earlier this month analyzing the “Beckster” and his “crowd of nutjobs”:

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 2:16pmAn observation that I would like to point out. Beck did make an attack on Ed. The attack was directly at Ed. Note however that when Ed replies his attack is not just at Beck. He attacks Beck and all of us who listen to him. He calls US nut jobs. He implies that we are all old and stupid. I am personally in the demographic that Ed claims as his (age 45) and have no use for this horses ass. They call all conservatives haters but they are the ones quickest to throw aspersions. Not only at the individuals they disagree with but at any who listen to them as well. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 2:16pmWell I’ve never heard of the guy Ed Shultz but I have heard of Rachel Maddow and admittedly watched her show for only a short curious moments because she reminds me of the character Pat on SNL. Of course I‘m sure Rachel is a nice person in real life and believes in what she doing because it’s a pays the bills.

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 2:09pmEd Schultz is a water toting minion of Obama – love to call people “funny” names (the Tan Man etc.). yet thin skinned if he is called a name. He got incensed when some one mentioned he was fat. Hr is no more than a progressive tool.
Rachel Maddow is extremely hateful and woefully misinformed. Like Schultz she finds ridicule of others far easier than the truth. Rachel Maddow is just another progressive tool.

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 6:21pmI wish we had a sarcasm font. This was meant as rhetorical remark. I can’t get over those who speak as though the rest of us care! Like when Sean Penn says Chevez is a good guy. We all know he‘s not and just because Sean Penn says so isn’t going to change my mind but if it were say Sgt. Shultz, then it may have some credibility with me ;o

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 7:50pmWhen the truth is spun to make it seems like lies, the lies and name calling must be fed Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow and a host of others just love to “shovel the CR4P” . what really do they have to lose?
The celebs just like to pander, they after all are selling themselves and little more.
As I have said before making truth of lies and lies of truth take a large cast.
Glenn by telling the truth needs much less, and as a bonus he does the research to back his word up. It you ask a progressive the will end up resorting to slander and name calling for they always fall thin on the truth.

The reason I am a Beck and O’Reilly fan is they back up the talk with information. Especially
Glenn Beck whose program I consider a civics course for interested voters. They both entertain while providing real dialog and content.
As for Ed’s guest in this video. The impact is coming baby. BOOM! (not a terrorist threat)

The only people I’ve ever tried to watch is Chris “Tingles” Matthews, Keith Blowbermann and that snarkie little hateful guy who comes on after him that looks like Ralph Macchio. What’s his name?
My boyfriend and I used to play a game. We’d flip over to BSLSD to see how long it took for any of the above three to bash Bush, specific Republicans or Republicans in general. Blowbermann’s fastest record was 12 seconds. He never made it past a minute. The one that went the longest without doing it was the little Ralph Macchio guy who went a whole 1:51 before showing his contempt and intolerance for anyone who didn’t agree.

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 4:49pmThe book burning wasn`t nearly as sinister as some want to make it out to be – the gov`t reviewed aa reserve officers book content and approved it (army) then the DOD stepped in and wanted to cut material after the book had gone to press. The gov`t bought the entire first run and destroyed them. The Army/DOD approved book is being printed as we speak.
The US Gov`t spent $45K plus accelerant because it screwed up.
The book went as high as #55 on Amazon over the weekend, the soldier isn`t too upset…

He’s doing time in prison now. I wonder why these raging angry bitter rude liberal talk show hosts get uglier by the year.
