‘What the Fu** Is That?’: Local TV Producer Drops the F-Word Twice on Live TV

Have you ever been sitting there watching a news program and yelled out, “What the fu** is that?” Or how about, “Where’s my damn graphic?”

No?

Well, that’s what a local producer in Boise, Idaho was wondering last Friday. How do I know? Because he let everyone know, meaning his mic was one when he dropped a series of epithets during a live news broadcast.

“It was a rough morning in the KBOI control room last Friday,” reports TV Spy. “After a mix-up with the show’s graphics, a producer could be heard on-air dropping the f-bomb. Twice.”

Here’s what he saw that got him so upset:

KBOI TV Producer Drops F Bomb Twice

It goes without saying that this video has a content warning for language:

But gee. What about all the foul language Glenn’s favorite singer Michael Buble spews from the stage? Where‘s Glenn’s story on that??? The BBC has it.

That’s an interesting article on Buble. I call him Bubble. I don’t like him or his music. so if he wants to talk trash at his concerts, good for him. I wouldn’t waste my money to see him even if it was a FREE concert.

@DownTheWell: What does Glenn Beck’s friend have to do with this story? Michael Buble cussed during a performance? Big deal! How does this somehow corrupt this particular story? TheBlaze reported a story and you attached an agenda to it. Apparently TheBlaze didnt find the BBC article newsworthy and they passed on it.

Check out this morning’s radio broadcast. Glenn made quite a shocking remark during a commercial commerntary. He stated, “Honey, [referring to his wife] sometimes I think I‘m doing you a favor by praying you’ll go to hell”.

i worked in an IT office where that kind of language was everyday! they called each other names, dropped the F-bombs in project meetings, badmouthed each other behind each other’s backs…I stayed one year and I couldn’t stand it anymore.
i’ve found that the more liberal the environment, the more vulgarities you’ll hear.

Board ops and producers tend to have really nasty mouths behind the scenes. Also, why in the heck was his mic potted up on the air? That is a major screw up too because his mike is never supposed to be on the air. Whoever did that was actually responsible for the f- word going out on live TV. In other words, unlike an on-air anchor, that producer would not expect his mike to ever be ‘live’ except in the earpiece of the on-air talent.

Not sure if it’s worthy of termination, but the guy could get sacked anyway because of the negative public attention. From the looks of it, KBOI runs a very amateurish operation.

Rule #1 – “Treat every microphone like it is live”. Every producer I have ever known has this rule tattooed on his forehead. There are a lot of politicians and celebrities who follow this rule too.

True that. But I am just pointing out the fact that producers do not expect to be on the air.

This is not the same thing as when an anchor or someone like Glenn Beck lets the profanity fly. Not that Glenn would ever do such a thing. ;)

      Here’s another valuable rule..
Manage your thoughts and your words like you are perpetually on a “live”mic – because you are.

What you say tells everybody everything about what you think habitually.

people need to take greater ownership of their lives.

Now he’ll drop the f-bomb on the audio guy for letting his mic get on the air.

For those of you who haven’t been inside a TV studio, this happens every day.
Mostly, it doesn’t go out on the air. You better have thick skin to work in TV.

I had a sports talk show on late one night (about the time most talk radio stations switch over to Art Bell) and one of the two hosts dropped the f-bomb and went right on as if the two were sitting in a bar talking just to each other. No reaction from the other guy, no headlines the next morning, or ever. Guess it‘s only a big deal if it’s because of a mistake being made rather than intentional.
