‘What the Hell Are You Doing Newt?’: Giuliani Rips Gingrich‘s ’Alinsky’ Attacks on Romney

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Thursday slammed Newt Gingrich’s line of attack against rival Mitt Romney, saying he would expect the tactics more from Saul Alinsky than the former House Speaker.

Gingrich and fellow GOP presidential contender Rick Perry have both been attacking Romney’s venture capitalist record as the head of equity firm Bain Capital.

“I’m outraged about what [Newt] and Rick, who is a very close friend of mine, I’m shocked at what they’re doing,” Giuliani said on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends.“ ”I’m going to say it’s ignorant, dumb. It is building something we should be fighting in America, ignorance of the economic system.

Giuliani’s appearance came after Gingrich himself was interviewed on the show and defended his tactics.

“If you get rid of venture capital, you get rid of private equity, you get rid of risk taking — Romney was a risk-taker…that’s the way we create jobs in America, that’s the genius of America, that’s how we move people out of poverty,” Giuliani said.

But things got even more colorful when Giuliani was asked what he would say to Gingrich if he were to get him on the phone.

“What the hell are you doing, Newt? I expect this from Saul Alinsky,” Giuliani said. “This is what Saul Alinsky taught Barack Obama, and the stuff you’re saying is one of the reasons we’re in the trouble we’re in right now, this total ignorant populist view of the economy that was proven to be incorrect with the Soviet Union, with Chinese communism.”

Ironically, where have most all of the GOP runner made all of their money. Most of them made all of their money after spending years in policitcs. They used their status as politicians to make their millions. I am all for that except its ironic that these moochers are attacking romney for actually making living in the private sector. Not only did he work in the private sector but he created jobs. This party is despicable.

Only two evangelical Christians left in the race:

Dr. Linzey later stated, “Among the six remaining GOP hopefuls, two are evangelical — Ron Paul and Rick Perry. But the tell-tale sign of being qualified for the presidency is not faith, but loyalty to the Constitution which defends the open expression of faith. Ron Paul seems to be the candidate most loyal to the Constitution according to the records. So when other evangelical leaders endorse GOP contenders of other faiths and traditions, some of whom have received funds from special interest groups, and are not as loyal to the Constitution as is Dr. Paul, one must necessarily ask, ‘What is their agenda?’ because they certainly are not endorsing the most qualified nor the most evangelical. If evangelicals wish to make faith an issue, then they should take a closer look at Dr. Paul’s statement on his web site, ‘Let me be very clear here: I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, and I endeavor every day to follow Him in all I do and in every position I advocate.’”

As I read all these comments all I hear is confusion and disharmony and nobody realizing that election’s are controlled and have been for a long time now by the election process. Nobody that speaks for the people has any chance at all. We are told what choices we have and that’s it. Newt is just playing his part as needed by the election planners. The need here is to set the focus on subjects that will dominate discussions on the future news tubes so the real problems that Obama has will not be the focus. Wake up stop, look and listen.

      REAL SOLUTIONS

As President, Ron Paul will lead the way out of this crisis by:

      * Vetoing any unbalanced budget Congress sends to his desk.

      * Refusing to further raise the debt ceiling so politicians can no longer spend recklessly.

      * Fighting to fully audit (and then end) the Federal Reserve System, which has enabled the over 95% reduction of what our dollar can buy and continues to create money out of thin air to finance future debt.

      * Legalizing sound money, so the government is forced to get serious about the dollar’s value.

      * Ending the corporate stranglehold on the White House.

      * Driving down gas prices by allowing offshore drilling, abolishing highway motor fuel taxes, increasing the mileage reimbursement rates, and offering tax credits to individuals and businesses for the use and production of natural gas vehicles.

      * Eliminating the income, capital gains, and death taxes to ensure you keep more of your hard-earned money and are able to pass on your legacy to your family without government interference.

      * Opposing all unfunded mandates and unnecessary regulations on small businesses and entrepreneurs.

These are just a few of the steps we can take to put America back in place as the world’s leading economy. Taking a stand for these principles has often been a lonely fight in Congress for Ron Paul, but, now more than ever, our nation needs a President who will champion sound money, responsible spending, lower taxes, and free ma

As Newt’s first two wives know, when Newt wants something, he is utterly without principle. He claims to have changed. He hasn’t.

Newt, the angry attack muffin, is willing to attack free enterprise, he is so ticked that he is not winning. He doesn’t care if he gives aid and comfort to the Marxists who want to demonize profit and destroy economic freedom. In fact, there is another good “domestic” analogy here. Newt is like the spurned husband who is willing to murder the wife who left him, because if he can’t have her, nobody can.

Newt is pointing out what people need to know about Mitt’s form of capitalism. In one instance his company made 600%, 6 times their money, while they let the company pension run short. Ultimately the pension plan had to be bailed out by the federal pension guarantee program. So before you praise Mitt’s business savvy, let’s keep in mind that there is a place for ethics, integrity, civility and citizenship in capitalism. Without those it brings out the worst in people.

@THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE

Mormons believe that the spirits of mankind are the literal offspring of God, which obviously means that we believe that the potential to be like him is inherent in our being. We believe that through the merits of Christ, we can be one with the Father as Jesus is one with the Father – heirs and joint heirs with Christ. That’s what the Bible teaches anyway…

“Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:” (John 17:20-22)

      and

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” (Rom. 8:16-17)

That’s pure LDS doctrine right from the Bible.

And also, I don’t know if you saw my other post, but you claimed in another thread that “Mitt Romney made an oath in the Temple to avenge the US government’s treatment of Joseph Smith.”

I pointed out that you were a liar since the Oath of Vengeance was discontinued over 20 years before Romney was born (see Buerger 2002, pp. 139–40), and that the oath in question only obligated the temple patron to merely “pray” for God to avenge the death of Joseph Smith anyway, not to do anything else about it (see Buerger 1987, p. 54). As our scriptures teach, Mormons believe that vengeance belongs to God.

I hope no one considers you a credible source of truth, since you have demonstrated that you are anything but that.

I have listened, and this does not pass the Lib test. If Newt or any of us would be outraged by Obama making this attack (which he now is by the way), then it is not good.

You don’t attack private enterprise and say they have to come out and explain how they operate, especially when there is no hint of wrongdoing. You do this and where does it stop? This feels way to much like Congress calling private enterprise forward to explain themselves. These folks are not kings, especially Newt.

If you see proof of wrongdoing, ok, ask about it, but there is no difference from bain than other venture cap firms, they take risk and some fail.

What would happen if one of these firms got a hold of Hostess? With all the bloat of union pensions? They would go in and cut the fat, have to layoff the union workers and start fresh to save the company, and guess what, it STILL may go under.

Newt will run with Trump, as VP on a third party ticket, just watch…. Trump got his ego bruised, when nobody but Newt showed up for his little debate, and Newty is pissed, cuz he was thinkin he had this in the bag, until the Romney machine kicked his stool out from under him, and neither of them really care if Obama gets re elected, as long as Romney does’nt get it…. as Ron Paul waits patiently……….

Newt = Angry Man. Newt was all puffed up over a brief polling that had him in the lead, now that’s he down in the polls his real personality comes out. He‘s taken the classic ’ if I can’t have her, nobody is going to have her’ route. He’s more like a suicide bomber than a candidate for the highest office.

    In Defense Of Capitalism

    http://www.redstate.com/erick/2012/in-defense-of-capitalism/

There are legitimate criticisms to be made of Mitt Romney and Bain Capital. Anyone who says otherwise needs to be prepared to defend Bain Capital more than once relying on the government to cover their butts on deals and even being bailed out by the government under Mitt Romney’s watch — not exactly free market.

    There are legitimate criticisms.

But as Rush Limbaugh said, as always correctly, the criticisms of Romney should come from the right, not the left. Attacking him for profiting in the free market has gotten out of hand on the right. I appreciate that the Democrats will raise the attacks and I appreciate that Romney is going to need to defend himself. Better now than in the general.

I am a bit appalled by the sudden decision that it is verboten to level any attack at Romney because of Bain. Just as we can go after people in politics, corporations should not be immune from criticism. Mitt Romney tells us they are people too. It’s just that we should attack Bain for relying on the government as we attack Solyndra and GE for doing the same.

I would, however, note that a great many of the people (but not all) screaming at Perry and Gingrich for attacking Romney “from the left” on Bain were staggeringly silent when Romney was attacking them from the left on entitlements.

Then there is Mitt Romney. The best defense he has so far offered about his time at Bain is that he did what the President did with General Motors. Except few on the right agree with what the President did and think the free market should have done it. In fact, that’s probably the best criticism of Romney — he seems to see no difference in the private sector and the public sector and has been all too willing to commingle money and responsibility between the two.

This isn’t Mitt Romney’s first time headed down this road. Back in 2003, he attacked the very position he’s now wrapping himself up with to defend himself. At the time, he said

“There are some, if you will, classical Republicans, and I don’t want to be political here. The classical Republican approach is to say you know what makes America so great is our great corporations. And if we just clear the decks so that corporations can be more successful and give them more money, and make it easier for them to succeed. Well, then we will do even better on the world stage. I don’t happen to subscribe to that traditional Republican caricature.”

So all you people defending Mitt Romney’s corporate activity as unassailable because by God the business of America is business and what not, remember he once made clear he didn’t much care for you guys.

The GOP has gone off the reservation. Capitalism should be defended. That does not mean everything Romney did at Bain Capital must be defended. And it sure as heck does not mean we should suddenly be okay with the President’s handling of General Motors.

Meanwhile, Sarah Palin wants Romney to release his tax records and provide proof of his job creation numbers. God bless her. Just when this was starting to look like a coronation with 2.01% of delegates selected . . .

These candidate‘s didn’t themselves create the current system. (Cesspool). But they did have to play in it. RP, Newt, Mitt, Huck, Sarah , Rick P, all had to play in the cesspool that has become Federal D.C. Steal the 53%ers Taxes.

It is bait for the left if they decide to bite. On the outside it looks like he is on the left with this, but If the left use this bait then all Romney has to do is say is I was risking mine and my investors monies, while you (BHO) were risking Tax dollars and BAM he is right back on the conservative side leaving the left behind in the dust.

Hey Common, I like Newt, he was my congressman for a long time but, this attack on capitalism is not good for the country. This is exactly the kind of class warfare Obama engages in. It‘s wrong when Obama does it and it’s wrong when Newt and Perry do it. It won’t help either one of them and it may in fact help Obama. I’m not defending Romney here, I’m defending capitalism….Newt should be too.
