What Would Al Gore’s Tahrir Square-Style ‘American Spring’ Look Like?

There seems to be a trend among leftists calling on the American public to “rise up” against the nation’s fiscal woes. First, The Blaze reported that Keith Olbermann is inciting a 1960′s-style “hell-bent” uprising over the debt bill, and earlier this week Al Gore took it one, or perhaps many steps further, when he called on Americans to mobilize and form their own version of the Arab Spring — an “American Tahrir Square,” if you will. Although Gore’s uprising will not be aimed at fighting tyranny, but rather, the Tea Party.
“We need to have an American spring,” Gore told Countdown host Keith Olbermann. “You know, the Arab Spring—the nonviolent part of it isn’t finished yet—but we need to have an American Spring, a kind of an American Tahrir Square. Non-violent change, where people from the grassroots get involved again.”
Meanwhile, Gore, who believes our democracy is “withering on the vine,” failed to mention that roughly 850 dissidents were killed and another 6,000-plus were injured during violent clashes in Tahrir Square.

So what would Al Gore’s “American Spring” look like, exactly? Gore shared his vision for the revolution with Olbermann, stating it is:

There are people who are genuinely upset in the Tea Party, I understand that, but that movement was funded with seed money from right-wing billionaires, the Koch brothers, and promoted on Fox News and turned into a stalking horse for this right-wing agenda that a lot of people have been trying to push on this country for a long time. What’s sacrosanct for them is to have absolutely no tax increases on the wealthiest Americans—they are at a low level now—and to try to shrink down government so they can get it out of the way of powerful corporations and special interests, so that they can have free rein. And the Supreme Court has, of course, has now declared that they’re persons and make these secret contributions. I want to tell you, Keith, this country is in trouble.
But some members of Fox News‘ ”The Five,” took exception to Gore’s assertions, and hosts Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld and Bob Beckel each shared their respective views on an American “Tahrir Square.” Perino for one said the no one wants Al Gore to stop talking more than President Obama, while Gutfeld was displeased that Gore seemed to equate tyrannical regimes with the U.S. democracy and the Tea Party. A peaceful, non-violent movement for fiscal responsibility, using our right of vote to put in people that are patriots and not politicians. We won’t have patriots until we make it impossible to get rich by “serving” the people. Gore is just one example of power/money hungry officials. Tea Party started with seed money from right wing billionares my butt. What would you call what Soro’s is doing?
