‘What’s New?’: Olbermann Returns to ‘Countdown’ — Denies Publicity Stunt

NEW YORK (AP) — Keith Olbermann is back on the air at MSNBC after a two-show suspension for violating network rules on political donations.
He opened his first show back on Tuesday mischievously. The camera showed an empty desk, then he slowly edged his way into the picture, saying, “Oh, hi. What’s new?”
He thanked viewers for showing him the kind of gratitude reserved for Chilean miners. A liberal group had launched a petition drive to get him back on the air over the weekend, following his suspension Friday. Olbermann acknowledged donating to the campaigns of three Democrats; NBC News rules prohibit such political activism among employees unless they have special permission.
Olbermann said he read over the weekend that the suspension was a publicity stunt.
He said: “This was not a publicity stunt. ‘Course, if I had known all this was going to happen, I would have done this years ago.”

Posted on November 9, 2010 at 11:01pm“There is no such thing as bad publicity” Or, as I have been known to say “If you have to pay to be heard, you have nothing interesting to say.” Unfortunately ‘interesting’ doesn‘t mean ’important.’

Posted on November 9, 2010 at 10:50pmIf Olbermann believes he can read between the lines and see that when Obama comes under criticism for soft pedleing around the word Jihad or even the concept of fighting a war on terror he’s being called a Muslim, Keith needs to update him prescription, quick. Just more logical leaps and characterizations made from whole cloth.
I’m actually glad to see MSNBC put this wannabe back on the air. The more they put their hopelessly flawed and skewed analysis out for consumption, the more support tea partiers receive. And it keeps the left comfortable in their own echo chamber, unresponsive to political realities from which they might actually benifit.

I love beck, and when possible listen to both the radio shows, and catch it on TV. The first part of the Soros story is great and scary. In the case of those, in your words, “migrant Daily KOS, MoveOn, Huffington Post snots” (excellent descriptions too) they should listen to beck, and just maybe, in the slimmest of hopes a miracle will happen and they finally see the light.
Not likely I will admit, yet anything is possible.

Posted on November 10, 2010 at 12:33am@Gnome, I suppose soros doesn’t disagree with Beck then? Doesn’t he ask soros to come on his show, every day? And don’t tell me soros is too busy, he’s probably the most powerful man in the world, if he wants to move his schedule around he could.
