In the aftermath of Sandra Fluke’s cries victimhood as aired on many of the major networks, some female conservative commentators who’ve suffered similar treatment are crying foul. The most vocal so far has been Laura Ingraham, who recently went on Fox and Friends to blast the female co-hosts of “The View” for their newly discovered concern over the usage of the word “slut.”
“When it was brought up on The View — I go on there every now and then and they’re always really nice to me when I go — when it was brought up on The View, Barbara Walters kind of laughed it off, like, ‘Joy, you call me that word all the time,’ and they just laughed,” Ingraham said. “But when Fluke goes on yesterday, it’s ‘Oh, isn’t this a tragedy?’ and ‘Oh isn’t this horrible? Rush Limbaugh should be driven off the air.’”
Ingraham‘s argument isn’t far from the truth — not only did the hosts of The View laugh at the usage of the word when it was applied to Ingraham, but the entire audience laughed it off. Watch the video and see for yourself:

Posted on March 6, 2012 at 9:00pmI think at this point, in the United States of America with the great system of capitalism that we have, where advertisers buy commercials for their products or withdraw them based partly on the popularity of a program, but also on whether or not their customers are inclined to buy their products based on the association with the programs they advertise on, the situation has shaped up has follows.
Beck lost every single one of his major sponsors based his offensive comments. We know how that ended for him. Limbaugh will certainly survive, but he’s lost 30 advertisers and at least one station has dropped his show.
I’m not a fan of Ed, thought his “s—-” comment was offensive and did nothing but make him look stupid as well as liberals in general and I personally condemn the remark. But, based on the free market, he didn’t cross a line that the conservative, capitalistic, profit oriented companies that advertise on his show minded.
No so much so we the other guys (and let’s not forget Dr. Laura either). At some point profit oriented companies, who are trying to maximize their revenue with advertisements, find a commentator’s remarks so offensive that the pull their advertisements rather than have their brand associated with the toxic remarks of the commentator.
I love capitalism, and I love this country!

History would indicate that things don’t quite work the way you think they do. Advertisers have spots during shows because they have an audience, usually an audience in the demographic they’re looking to market to.
Time after time history has shown that when an advertiser pulls spots from a very successful program because of perceived pressure from activist groups it’s the advertiser that suffers, not the program. First they are losing prime advertising slots to advertise their product. And secondly the backlash against them for giving in to pressure from some activist group is actually real. Those are people that were actually watching/listening to the program and were actually possible consumers of their product. The activist group that pressured them into removing their spots were usually never possilbe consumers anyway.
So what ends up happening is the moronic companies that do it are dumping a ton of possible customers because of pressure from people that never watched/listened to a show in the first place and were never possible consumers.

From there we cn see that Rush does not seek to degrade Fluke or other women, but to protect women from the assumption that women cannot make wise decisions. The underlying assumption of Fluke’s demand for birth control pills to be paid for by Georgetown (and their paying students and other benefactors) is that a student who has qualified for their law school is not smart enough to figure out how to come up with $50/mo or get their boyfriend to help or go without. For this false assumption, the insurance rates for the Georgetown student body who so far have been taking care of it themselves will go up.

According to Flake’s (sic intentional) own testimony, slut would be accurate in her case as well. We have no evidence at all that Laura Ingraham is a slut. But we know the “gals” on the View are hypocrites. The question is whether to accept it as normal (and watch normal become increasingly debased) or whether we need to call it out. It gets tiresome but we need to call it out.

Fluke‘s testimony was a grandstand effort on Pelkosi’s and Fluke’s part to make headlines and a point.
Clearly they succeeded, but don’t preach to the rest of us that they were on the short end of the stick. This was a political ploy at its most obvious and the MSM were happy conspirators in the process. If you watched the news conference on C-SPAN, the reaction from the press pool was so blatant, it was laughable. Whe Ed Henry asked the question that the President responded sarcastically to, the press pool was giddy. If you think I am full of crap, watch it.

Remember that the Progressive Liberal left actually believes that they’re smarter then we conservatives. They also believe they’re better looking and just plain good people. Anybody that threatens that stereotype (like Palin did) had to be destroyed. Palin’s only mistake was in letting herself get drawn into that level of politics before she was ready. A couple of weeks of briefings and coaching sessions is NOT enough to prepare a conservative. Oddly enough, it IS enough to prepare a liberal because the media will protect them from themselves!

I think we should still point it out anyway – but just don’t expect any changes. It’s always “tougher”, “unfair” for those who try to adhere to “conservative” views, which usually stem from the Bible, belief in God. Always much more evil than good to deal with.
Liberals are a different kind of being – their “morals” are the opposite of what we consider ours. The first five words of the First amendment are “Congress shall make no law” pretty straight forward, it mean congress has no authority to make law. The next five word “respecting an establishment of religion”, Everyone know what religion is right, what is an establishment in regards to religion specifically? An establishment of religion is it’s institutions, it’s institutions are churches, hospitals and properties but an establishment of religion is also it’s practices, it‘s symbols it’s festivals, celebrations and dogma, in reality anything that has to do with religion is an establishment of religion. Obviously in an SNL sketch, the woman knows she will be called a slut and it’s more for comedic/absurdity effect. I would hate to see this kind of use for insulting words to go away because of fear of being offensive.
While Bill Maher classifies himself as a comic, he is still doing it with the intent to defame someone. While I wouldn‘t count Maher’s as bad because he’s trying to be funny, he is still insulting and trying to discredit the person and I would say he’s stupid for making the remark.
I view Ed Schultz and Rush Limbaughs insults exactly the same. Neither guy is a comedian, and both fashion themselves as some kind of news person/pundit/journalist/influential person. Their attacks were purely political, partisan and said with malice and hate and zero comedic intent.
While Schultz was suspended, I agree there wasn’t nearly as much outrage from the left as it was with Rush.

At CPAC, Cal Thomas said he wished that Maddow had been aborted.
The next day he emailed an apology to Rachel Maddow and also wrote about it.
She forgave him and they had a great dinner, laughing and having a good time.
The difference?
Cal’s apology was heart felt, personal and not in response to outrage. He knew he made a mistake and went out of his away to apologize personally and through his column.

Some non-televised media are coming around but not fast enough so we have to give them the push to do fair reporting by asking them where the story is on the vile comment from Bill Maher about Palin.
