Which Presidential Candidate Has a Liberal Arts Degree, and Talked Up Going to Grad School?

Ever since student loan debt became a serious crisis in America, there have been a lot of things blamed for the proliferation of students who can’t seem to find work. One persistent talking point is that many of these students have been long on education and short on skills, and should have majored in practical fields like Business, rather than in Philosophy, History, or God forbid, English. In fact, English degrees have been the poster child of useless education since before the recession even began, with the popular Broadway musical Avenue Q lampooning them in song:
Well, all those people who have talked down liberal arts degrees may be in for a surprise – turns out majoring in English doesn’t always turn you into a ponytailed Occupier. Sometimes you become…Mitt Romney?! The Atlantic Wire brings this shocking detail to light:
But chin up, impractical majors: Mitt Romney is one of you. At an event at Otterbein University in Ohio Friday, the fabulously wealthy and obnoxiously well-adjusted Republican presidential nominee admitted he was an English major. He even revealed a little of the pompous English major inside, billing the event as a “guest lecture,” instead of an unpretentious campaign speech. Further, Romney told the college kids, ”as an English major I can say this, as an English major your options are you better go to grad school,” Politico’s Ginger Gibson reports.
Romney got dual grad degrees in business and law from Harvard, and his powerful political family ensured he’d never be without a job. (Ann Romney has complained that during the grad school years, all they had for income was “chipping away at stock.”) Nevertheless, English majors nationwide can take the presidential candidate’s remarks to their parents to justify that MFA.
That’s right. Mitt Romney, the supposed uber-practical businessman who Democrats attack for being a predatory monster completely obsessed with the bottom line, was an English major, went to two different grad schools, and somehow still managed to become one of the most famously successful men in America, to the point that he’s now running for President.
Of course, it’s possible President Obama majored in something perceived as equally useless, but given that his college transcripts haven’t surfaced, we don’t really know.

We also want to know WHO FUNDED HIS EDUCATION? Did he take a foreign student loan???? Did the Saudi king pay for his education???
We also want his passport records. In 1981 when he says (in his book) that he went to Pakistan…American passport holders weren’t allowed to go to Pakistan. So, what sort of passport was he holding when he went to Pakistan please? Hello? Can I get an Amen???

He paved the road for it…that father of it, in education, as it were. His friends are now in power to promote this. And in the last 40 years, our rate of “smartness”, has declined so bad, too many schools can’t graduate 50%, even after all the agreed dumbing down PC garbage. Graduating later, so he missed it? NO. Quite the contrary, he helped lay the groundwork for it.

Posted on April 28, 2012 at 2:11pmYou will find very conservative teachings at BYU, no matter what your major. BYU is the opposite of most universities. Instead of Liberal leanings, everything has a more conservative and religious slant. I remember in the middle of my immunology class, the professor, stopped what he was teaching and went into a discourse about God, and his gratitude toward God. Won’t see that at anywhere else.
In fact, when I went to BYU, there were discussion about “academic freedom”. The few liberal teachers were dismayed that they couldn’t spout their liberal indoctrination. Both of the professors (catch that?) complained that they didn’t have the “academic freedom” to teach whatever liberal philosophy that they wanted.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 8:13pmIt doesn‘t really matter which major your Bachelor’s degree is in–the University education gives you broad knowledge of the major subjects and necessary perspective, as well as reasoning skills. It also gives any potential employer the confidence that you were able to get through the academic program.
If education was left up to the Blazers, everyone would be a religious home schooled small business owner armed to the teeth, trading survival seeds with neighbours for goods and services. If you people had your way, we would enter a new Dark Ages.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 8:43pmI‘m sure there’s LOTS of people who’d rather vote for Dr. Paul. However, the painful truth is that Dr. Paul is NOT going to be the Republican candidate for President, no matter how much his supporters wish for that to be.
Therefore, the only way for you to vote for Dr. Paul is if he decides to run as a third-party candidate. If that happens, you’ll have the wonderful privilege of voting for him. HOWEVER, that will mean that Obama AUTOMATICALLY will win re-election and “We the People” get another 4 years of this craziness.
The ONLY way to end this craziness is for Dr. Paul’s supporters to hold their collective noses and vote for Romney. Same thing for those who supported Santorum, Gingrich, Backman, Cain, etc., etc., etc.
Is that going to be “enjoyable” or what those folks really want to do? NO! Of course not! But, that’s the painful reality of the situation!

So, now the idea is that Paul will run as a third-party (or independent) candidate and will get enough votes from both Republicans AND Democrats that he’ll win the Presidency??? That would be one truly amazing feat for Paul to pull that off!
I’m afraid the cold, hard truth is that if Ron Paul runs as a third-party or independent candidate he would get “some” democratic votes, but the VAST majority of his support will come at Romney’s expense, not Obama’s.
This election is going to be as close as it gets if Paul throws his support to Romney and sits it out. In fact, it’s likely to be so close that it will be decided by the number of fraudulent votes cast for Obama (or at least that’s what some folks are saying!). That’s why Obama wants to nullify the voter ID laws!
So, the “bottom line” is that everyone who’s not happy with Romney and who support(ed) someone else needs to unite 100% around the worst of the two evils… Romney. If folks want 4 more years of this insanity and to keep moving to a socialist state, then vote for Obama or hope for a Ron Paul third-party/independent candidacy. Otherwise, hold your nose, swallow the vomit coming up into your throat, and vote Romney!

America will not have a future if we have 4 more years of Obama and leaders like Ron Paul and his supporters will be silenced. You do remember one of Obama and Biden’s favorite phrases…“boot on the neck”. I honestly believe Ron Paul knows this and that along with his friendship with Romney is why I think Ron Paul will throw his support behind Romney.
I hope Paul has a prominent place at the convention over someone like Sanotrum or GIngrich and I also hope Ron Paul or Rand Paul will be working in a Romney administration.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 6:50pm“Of course, it’s possible President Obama majored in something perceived as equally useless, but given that his college transcripts haven’t surfaced, we don’t really know.”
As I was reading that is what I was thinking … Obama talks about paying off loans .. but won’t release any of his records .. Romney … WE know who he is …. I would rather vote for a TRUE AMERICAN … than the FRAUD in the WHITE HOUSE we have now.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 8:13pmSure would love to see the financial arrangements -i.e, scholarships , loans given to Obama when he attended Occidental College as Barry Soetoro, “a student from Indonesia . “ Especially since Occidental is nicknamed the ” Moscow of southern California.” In light of his Far Left policies and his use of the intimidation Big Brother behavior, one wonders why he chose that school . In light of his hidden school records and his concern with student loans, one wonders what financial arrangements were given to “Barry Soetoro” and why the man we know as Barack Obama used the name Barry Soetoro….
