Which Prominent MSM Figure Thinks Sarah Palin Could Beat Obama?

On Sunday, former Palin running mate John McCain said “of course” she could beat Barack Obama if she runs in 2012. That may not be too surprising consider the two’s history. But what may be surprising is that one prominent member of the mainstream media definitely agrees. And another at least sees some Reagan comparisons.
On Sunday’s “The Chris Matthews Show,” both The Daily Beast’s Andrew Sullivan and TIME editor Joe Klein agreed that if Palin runs she could have the edge on Obama.
After Matthews asked, “Does anybody imagine Sarah Palin being elected President of the United States?” Sullivan answered:
Yes, because, not because of her apparent virtues, not because of Obama’s weakness, but because of unforeseen events. I do think that if for example we have a collapse in the markets because of a debt ceiling crisis, if we have a second recession, if we have another major terrorist attack, I’m just saying we shouldn’t rule out things.
Then Klein chimed in:
You were around, you were around in ’79 and ’80 as I was. Did you see many people in the Carter administration think that Ronald Reagan could beat Jimmy Carter?
Klein later walked that statement back a little by saying he’s not sure if either Michele Bachmann or Palin could win. But that doesn’t completely erase the Reagan analogy.
Watch below:
NewsBusters’s Noel Sheppard wonders what this all means:
It is indeed fascinating that any media discussion of Republican presidential candidates always goes back to Palin.
Is it because the press really want her to run to make the race more interesting, or much like Sullivan they secretly fear she could be the one to beat the president they love so much?
Considering Sullivan does make a Palin/Nazi reference (and seems to bash her, too), the belief that she could win is curious on many levels.

Carter lost to Reagan by running on his record of achievement durring his term. Im sure you remember the Iran hostage situation also. ( well AKMIIKEUS is being influenced by Kool-Aid fumes so i have my doubts). Can Obama run on his record of achievement and win a second term??? OR will he have to dance around his record and play even dirtier Chi-town politics. And this has nothing to do if Palin runs or doesnt. The people will pick a GOP candidate that will best fit the needs. The majority of Americans are way beyond sick and tired now of “Dirty Politcs” and dancing around ones rotten political record. So caluclate Obamas chances if the people get what they want.

the law suits cost her personally a few mill$$$$ . can you afford that? So in stead of staying on and going beyond bankrupt(she was already techincally bankrupt) and that’s just her personal side to it. think of the tens to hundreds of millions that it would have cost the TAX PAYERS of Alaska. most libs would have just socked it to the tax payers. She had the where for all to make the money herself and tsave the tax payers without thanks from rinos, leftist , and sadly some missguided consevatives.
this is the sign of a leader. similarly to West who the left villifies for shooting jhis gun off at a terrorist to extract intel. the left lies saying he was booted out. he faced the ramifcations of his actions and thus a leader as well.
Hope that you can see this and understand that leaders at times put themselves in harms way to protect those they serve.

The Statue of Liberty is in NY where the towers fell. It represents that women and even a certain specific woman will avenge the innocent blood slain on 9/11. These women will liberate the nation from the effects of previous attacks by terrorists and radical Islamists. This radical religion creates a culture that often mistreats women. Yet, God will use women to stand up with the torch of liberty, even as Lady Liberty stands in the place where the terrorists attacked.
· Hillary Clinton
.. After more political disheveling and disorder, many will look and suggest her to be seated in the WH..
· Sarah Palin
Her voice will be heard and her ideals echoed and celebrated through the land by many. Certain things will happen for her and she will take a place in history. She shall also be established in a key role for the Lord so that a new course of America’s restoration can gain momentum by 2016.”

God has placed His blessing on the woman of His choosing to accomplish key things for both this nation and for Him. .. but the devil will seek to interrupt and seat another ..
· Perspectives from Scripture applicable to 2011, the season for women
It was a woman who crushed the head of a wicked king with a stone. (Judges 9:53) Perspective: This speaks of a change of power and the influence of women in positions of political leadership who will lead against wicked laws.
It was a woman who rescued baby Moses in the days of Pharaoh when murdering children was endorsed by the Government. (Exodus 2) Perspective: A woman is being prepared as a protective mother figure in effort to end the murdering of children by abortion.
It was a woman JUDGE (Deborah) who led a battle against the enemies of Israel and ended a war against them that came bc Israel was choosing new gods. Deborah brought God’s principles back to Israel. (Judges 5:2-8) Perspective: A woman is positioned in America to end certain wars in the east and bring this nation back to certain moral and biblical principles.

Listen up people! If we Conservatives want to whip the Liberal, socialist, Obama machine, we ALL need to be on the same page. We can’t go off on a tangent and support every Tom, Dick and Harry, if we want to have ONE strong candidate. Splitting the vote doesn’t help our cause, it only insures that the Obama machine will win. I‘ve had 2 years too many with that program and don’t want 4 more in 2012. Be sensible, we cannot split the votes. We have to all be on same page to win. Last time I held my nose to vote for McCain because we eliminated all the good candidates. That‘s what you get if that’s how you play the game. Get Smart in 2012. Let’s choose the best & go for it.
Are you saying “right now!!” because, we have a long way to go. What you are saying is actually redundant, telling us to let the process proceed as planned. It is early on in the process, and time will tell. My top canidate is out, and my next favorite says he is not running. (Pence and West, respectively). My favorite if I were ask to vote RIGHT NOW is herman Cain. maybe santorum or another will catch my eye between now and when I will need to vote in my primary, and believe me folks, you NEED to vote in your primary instead of letting the MSM “trends” dictate whether you will vote then. Otherwise, either obama or McCain will be your choices. Unga-bunga, or death by unga-bunga. (from a joke I heard in 3rd grade…)

Posted on May 30, 2011 at 12:14amSacred, you’re right, my post was sarcasm. Everything I said was a charge against Obama by the TP wing of the right. In the vein of “innocent until proven guilty” no one has to disprove a charge thrown at them such as Obama wanting to kill Grandma. Why do people claim President Obama WANTS to kill your grandmother, and what policy is it that cause your Grandmother to die? I really don’t think President Obama wants to kill your grandmother. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to kill grandparents.
But that’s the claim. That‘s you’re claim. Okay, Obama wants to kill your grandparents. Fine, whatever. I think it’s up to you to prove that Obama wants to kill grandma, It’s not up to me to me to disprove it.
Sacred seriously, I admire you and think you are one of the good guys. But that doesn‘t mean I I won’t disagree with you every time I have reason to.

i appreciate your candor and your compliments, especially since i reciprocate at every opportunity. BUT. Concerning your above post, when have I or ANYONE here claimed obama wanted to “kill gramma”? Posted on May 30, 2011 at 1:32am@JZS: I seem to recall a newly released advertisement produced and sponsored by the Democratic party and/or supporters visually showing a man resembling Ryan wheeling Grandma down a path to her destiny – a toss over the cliff! (Reminds me of the Panel of 15) I’m a grandma and I can see the destruction coming to my health care via obama care. How can this plan provide me with better and proper medical service if it “borrows” 1/2 billion dollars from the fund designed to pay for such services to provide same services to folks who have broken the law by coming into our country illegally. I don‘t relish 5 to 6 hours of wait in a doctor’s office as I’m busy taking care of my “alzheimer’s“ mother and ”dementia” husband so we won’t be a burden on “honest” and hard working taxpayers. I’m a TAD angry about the government deciding by whom, when and how I will receive medical attention. Do you want your health issues decided on a cost basis or a necessity basis? If you haven’t read the contents of the health bill PERSONALLY, then I suggest you do a bit of research. You will see multiple cuts to seniors financially and otherwise not to mention a few tax increases for everyone. You are apparently not old enough to be concerned about such issues. In closing, let’s all remember that history has shown us everything our greedy government controls and runs eventually goes broke … need I mention the US Post Office?

Posted on May 30, 2011 at 1:57amI have said many times, anyone the Repubs run (including Alfred E. Newman) could be odumbo [BIG EARS]. My dog reminds me of ole Alfred and is more qualified than the usuper-in-chief (he is more friendly, better looking, more predictable, and more consistent). The demogressives, and lame stream media, want everyone to believe repubs have a weak field. Remember the last election, people fainting (no one has now for some time), the earth healing (how’s that working out), the brilliant orator (have you ever listened to him simply say to [without exception it is ta] and he is totally lost without a teleprompter), and his ever impressive bowing, accents, rejecting/insulting long time allies (now that should help his re-election). They, lame streamers, say repubs field is weak. Without soros money and corrupt elections, he is toast in 2011.

I KNOW ” He wants to kill your kids and your grandparents and you, if you are conservative. He will impose Sharia law on this country as moves to make this country an Islamic one. He is in the pocket of Al Queda.”
was stated in a mocking manor, but it is actually true in our (right-minded thinkers) minds. Tell us where we are wrong, unless all you wanted to do was to come on here and mock us…

Wrong!!! If you’re looking for “a strong track record of effective leadership and problem solving”, how did we get this imposter?
