WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama’s $800 billion-plus economic stimulus law may not be earning good grades with the public, but the White House claims it’s on track to produce the promised 3.5 million jobs.
The report says about two-thirds of the stimulus money has been spent via tax cuts or government spending and remarkably little of the money has gone out fraudulently.
The stimulus bill was passed in February of last year to try to reverse the worst recession since the Great Depression. The White House and many economists credit it with giving the economy a needed jolt. But Republicans counter that it’s been ineffective, citing a nationwide unemployment rate still hovering near 10 percent.

Gov’t thinks we are all stupid; which may be true. While much of America is focused on “Dancing with the Stars,“ ”American Idol,“ or who ”Snookie” is sleeping with on tonight’s show; our country was stolen from us. The (gov’t) is so confident that they are now showing their true colors in the open without the fear of our reactions.
I’m so sick and tired of uninformed lazy Americans who are more concerned about comfort than the sustainability of this country. Our parents (60′s generation) allowed God and the American culture ot be assaulted.
The fact is that we are the greatest nation because we stood for something. Now this fraud of a President, who should be tried for treason, makes deliberate actions to destroy our country. Are we patriots or sheople. I’m tired of the deception. I’m tired of the use of racisim against those who dont agree. Most of the individuals who suck the life out of this country actually hate this country. They know nothing of our culture and have been bred to be a “victim” class. The sad thing is that they are to stupid to even see through the lies. Its sad when generations of people are used by both parties for the sake of power.
Whats worth more? The free healthcare, gov‘t welfarre checks and crummy gov’t cheese or your souls. You self-centered people….wake up and realize that this man is a liar. Wake up and see that the govt in place (democrats and republicans) are blood suckers who need to be removed from office and put in jail cells.
And Mr. President (I use that term loosely). You sir need to be tried for treason with Pelosi, Reid, Soros and your other goons. You will not get away with your crimes. Your lies and distortions will one day be judged. Have fun now for one day every knee will bend and tongue will confess to the Savior. Make your jokes and distort the truth now….while you can.

I’m glad recover summer is over, I don’t think I could afford another month, I’m broke! Maybe when Obama called it recovery Summer he wasn’t speaking about the economy. Maybe he was referring to Lindsay Lohan, she was in recovery this summer. Apparently with the same results as the economy. In fact, this might be a good idea. Let’s sent all of Congress to rehab. They are showing all the signs of substance dependency. They are in denial if they think we are going to let them keep their jobs, they spend like drunken sailors and unemployment is blowing a 9.5 which is well above the legal limit.

Trained economists from all ideologies largely agree that the stimulus lessened the impact of the worst economic crisis since ‘29. That a few people in the White House threw out a guess of 8.5% unemployment if the stimulus were passed, and that number was superceded, has absolutely no impact on the economic facts around what the stimulus avoided. The analogy is this: you show up in the ER with a stopped heart and they restart your heart and one of the nurses says you’ll be out of the hospital in a month, but it takes three, so you deny that the doctors saved your life. Ridiculous. Stupid. Illogical. Stop embarrassing yourself.

WHOA!!!! What kind of statement is that. Dumb or dumber. I guess I totally don’t understand the english language anymore. It was all spent fraudulently as far as I’m concerned. I don’t see alot of jobs yet for the people. Where is the track that is going to produce 3.5 million jobs? I‘m convinced that Obama doesn’t understand english either. Obama has not had anywhere near that level of malfeasance with the stimulus. You can disagree on how it was spent, but it wasn’t lost or stolen. That kind of mismanagement has not occurred, which is remarkable for government…or even the private sector.

Creation of New Staff Positions. In May, Christina Romer, chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, stated that “hundreds of thousands of public school teachers are likely to be laid off. Reports by states to the Department of Education (DOE), however, indicate that many states have used ARRA funds to create entirely new staff positions, a large number of which are non-teaching positions. In some cases, it is evident that positions “created” by states exceeded those retained by states.
