Who Is the Mystery Woman in the White House Situation Room Photo?

In this iconic image of President Barack Obama surrounded by his closest national security advisors, most of the figures are familiar faces: Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, Admiral Michael Mullen, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, Counterterrorism Chief John Brennan etc.

But there is one person who is less familiar–this woman in the far background of the picture.

Who Is the Mystery Woman in the White House Situation Room Photo?

Who is she?

The Daily Beast patches together some clues:

Who’s the woman peeking her head from the back? A White House caption for the photo identifies her as Audrey Tomason with title “Director for Counterterrorism.” But in a room full of oft-cited and quoted people, there’s fleetingly little published information about who she is or what she does for the administration.

The presence of Tomason is notable for a few reasons. Next to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, she’s the only other woman pictured in the testosterone-filled room. And she appears to be the only person under 40. But what matters most is that she is standing just a few feet from the president, who is otherwise surrounded by his closest advisers, as they watch one of the country’s highest-stakes operations in decades as it occurs in real time.

When The Daily Beast asked the White House press office about Tomason, an official said she worked with the National Security Council, a White House agency closely involved with the intelligence that led to bin Laden. The official intimated that the White House generally doesn‘t discuss personnel at any of the government’s covert or intelligence agencies. Tommy Vietor, a spokesman for the NSC, confirmed she worked with the agency. When asked why she had never been identified or mentioned before, Vietor responded “Well, we’ve never killed bin Laden before.”

    The “Apocalypse Equation” refers to report authored by one of the most secretive women in US intelligence circles named Audrey Tomason [photo top left in White House Situation Room during the assault on bin Laden compound] who is Obama’s Director for Counterterrorism and while attending Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government wrote a master thesis [now classified by the US as “top-secret”] suggesting that it would be more humane for our world to undergo a “planned and controlled genocide” rather than to see it descend into the abyss of chaos it is now entering.

    According to Ms Tomason’s “Apocalypse Equation” the “sustainable population” of our world can only be 1.5 billion human beings, as compared to the United Nations estimate of 7 billion we will reach on October 31st of this year, and the even worse figure of 10 billion estimated by 2100.

    Ms Tomason argues in her thesis that our world’s population has been “artificially inflated” for the past nearly 100 years by a “non-sustainable” petrochemical and fossil fuel based global economy that if left “unchecked” could very well destroy all life on Earth, not just human beings.

    Independent reports, unfortunately, strongly back Ms Tomason’s dire warnings with one of the most disturbing graphics [2nd photo left] produced by the PostPeakLiving.Com research group showing that, indeed, our world’s population has grown more since the use of petrochemicals than in all of its previous history.

      Agreed, lets have this matter now come to an end. It stopped being great stories after the first day full of this stuff. Get off the subject of the now dead OBL and get on with the real stories we need to save the country, or prepare for the changes that are needed with radical surgery to save a portion of her and from which we may rebuild.

      Completely off topic, a trend I’ve noticed that I think is symptomatic of how the Blaze puts the posts on the threads. It seems that substance in commentary isn’t encouraged by this method, we all, yes even me, often post terse little snippets instead of what’s really on our minds IMHO. Could be because the first comment is something brilliant like “ first ”. Or a three word blurb driven by our haste to get the much coveted spot of first post. Blaze, I know it’s probably beyond your understanding, but if you post the newer comments on the top then you’ll get more substance from the posts, but aw gee that’s just too much like good common sense BetterDays.

      We should all be thanking God that the President of the United States, Barrack Obama, tracked this terrorist down and killed him. Bush tried for seven years, and five years after torturing all those people, and wasn’t able to do it because he decided to attach Iraq instead, a country that had zero to do with 9-11. I support what we’ve done there, given that it‘s already happened and you can’t turn the clock back.

      But Bush took his eye off the ball and decided to do something else. Obama regained the focus on Al Quaida, tracked OBL down and killed him. He diverted American resources away from Iraq and other parts of the world and directed them toward OBL, as he promised in his campaign. And we got him.

      Of course you want to dismiss the whole thing, because it highlights Bush’s failure, his misguided, discretionary war in Iraq which took a budget surplus and turned it into a huge deficit (along with some other of his actions). Bush failed, but Obama refocused on the worst terrorist in the world and nailed him.

      Of course you want to stop talking about that.

      From what I can glean from using the internet too look up some of the named entities she has been involved I‘d say she’s part of ‘the other hand’ as she has a strong background in economically assisting people in 3rd world countries. There are some buzz words used on these web sites, such as economic justice, that alerted me to form this opinion.       This was a staged Photo-op and NOT real time. We have been at WAR for along time now. Do you think that any other leader would have thought . Hey lets take pictures of us all and say it is us watching one of the biggest Spec-Op raids of all time. If this is true, then thay sure as hell were all conviently in the frame !! The SEALS were too busy to take pictures I bet and were really not interested in them anyways. These POLITICIANS are all EGO driven. These pictures are waht make many of WE THE PEOPLE sick!!!       what do we have here:

      1) There was a firefight.
      2) There was no firefight.
      3) Bin Laden was “resisting.”
      4) Bin Laden wasn’t armed. (Makes the concept of “resisting” interesting.)
      [4.a) And the newest one: the SEALS thought bin Laden was reaching for a weapon.]
      5) He used his wife as a shield.
      6) His wife was killed too.
      7) He didn’t use his wife as a shield. She ran at a SEAL who shot her in the leg, but she’s fine.
      8 ) Some other woman — the maid? — was used as a shield. By somebody. Downstairs.
      9) That other woman — downstairs — was killed.
      10) Maybe not. She was killed unless she wasn’t — and who was she, anyway?
      11) Bin Laden’s son was killed.
