Who Paid for Pelosi’s Party?

As we reported earlier this week, Nancy Pelosi planned to hold a special reception on Capitol Hill this afternoon to celebrate the “accomplishments” of the 111th Congress. So who footed the bill for the event? According to Politico, the outgoing House Speaker‘s office isn’t saying:
The event, according to an invitation obtained by POLITICO, was in the Cannon Caucus Room Wednesday afternoon. It was closed press, and invited guests were “advocacy groups.”
When asked who paid for it, Nadeam Elshami, a spokesman for the California Democrat, declined to reveal who was footing the bill.
“No taxpayer funds or lobbyist money paid for the meeting,” Elshami said in an email to POLITICO.
When pressed further, Elshami said “No taxpayer or lobbyist. What more do you want?”

I’m sure this get together was somber, morose and angry, not celebratory. The coming lame duck session could be very damaging, and dangerous….Pelosi is PISSED. The Stray Cats have soiled her sand box.

There is a lot of information, but the best I can determine it appears most likely the ‘advocacy groups’ that attended and most likely paid for the party came from the supporters of education at the college levels, and I would not put it past the Department of Education as well.

Posted on November 11, 2010 at 7:14amWell, if we can eliminate taxpayer funds and lobbyists, that still leaves a few possibilities – like advocacy groups, “highly-motivated” private citizens, etc. I fail to understand why the spokesman wouldn’t even identify the type of person paying for the event (a PAC, a private citizen, the politicians themselves from their own pocket, etc.) – privacy can be maintained and some level of transparency afforded the public.

Until the people of this Country are REALLY awake, we will continue electing the untrustworthy people! Case in point, Deleware, Christine O‘Donnell was not the person the Establishment GOP’s wanted. They wanted the RINO Mike Castle. If Karl Rove would have gone to O’Donnell and said, what can I do to help? and others in the GOP would have done the same, she would have won. Now, the Dem. who is not for a Constitutional Government has won, WE lost.
This same thing is going on in Alaska! The Law says Lisa’s name must be spelled correctly! Some Judge somewhere in Alaska said as long as the intent was there. Now, Lisa has changed the law for herself and if it was the other way around, She would fight tooth and nail to be sure the name MUST be spelled correct! This is shameful and she too is a RINO and should be OUT!!!
