Michelle Obama Gets Her Husbands Timeline Wrong on Jon Stewart | Transferred to Columbia Before His Fathers Death, Not After

Without divulging any more details about her husband’s high school “choom gang,” Michelle Obama explained on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart Tuesday when and why her husband got his act together: “By the time [Barack Obama] was in college, like so many young people, he realized he could do more with his life.”

“He had a mother that was saying ‘you’re so gifted, you’re so talented,’ and would slap him on the head (and say) ‘get yourself together,” but it wasn’t until his father died, she explained, that her husband really grew up.

“That was one of those click-in moments,” she told Stewart. “And he really buckled down, he transferred schools, went to Columbia and thought about how to use life to the fullest.”

The only problem?

Barack Obama transferred to Columbia in 1981, and his father didn’t die until 1982.

While it is certainly excusable to get dates off twenty years later, Michelle Obama is talking about life-changing events.  She is saying the death of her husband’s father is what made him “grow up,” and transfer colleges.

The president even details the matter in Dreams From My Father, starting on the first page of the book, where he describes getting the call that his father died in his New York City apartment.

After it was revealed his autobiographical girlfriend was actually a “composite” of several women, Twitter is lighting up about who doesn’t have the story straight– Michelle Obama, or the autobiography.

“Barack Obama, composite husband,” one tweeter wrote.  Another corrected: “It’s really just a composite biography…”

      @ VOTEBUSHIN2012. I suppose my comment came of as mean spirited and I didn’t mean it that way. I should of rephrased it. I merely meant to point out the irony of the Left’s maneuvering. We have Bloomberg’s soda plan in NY where he wants to regulate the size of slurpees. Everything is couched in children’s health. The reality is it regulates everyone. The foot in the door as to what we can and cannot eat. The MSM has propelled MO as the pre-eminent authority on healthy foods and knows what’s best for the public to eat. Did that occur because she is eminently qualified or was that a result of her husband’s bid for re-election? I think the latter. If I could afford a Personal Trainer it wouldn‘t be one that doesn’t appear to work out. That’s just my opinion I guess.

      Actually I’m an engineer so I am simply looking at it objectively.

      About 40% of the American population is overweight, a great majority of which are older as opposed to younger adults. And, with this site sporting an overwhelmingly higher proportion of “older” users it is a safe assumption that, statistically speaking, people commenting on this site are fat.

      Clearly there are exceptions (myself for one), but I am just taking the road of highest probability.

      Also, you’re publicly expressing your infatuation with fatty, sugary, or otherwise unhealthy food which is a pretty solid indication of your lifestyle.

    The problem isn‘t that people don’t know the truth or they don’t get it. It is that they don’t want their side to loose. They will deny the truth no matter what in order to keep their side from losing. They see America as an Us vs Them situation not a “We the People” any more. So let‘s put Obama’s story together..The rally in Selma in 1965 inspired his parents to “get together”. But Obama was born in 1961 and his parents had completely split by 1962.       Exactly! When you (or your husband) lie(s) over & over again, you can’t keep track, you trip up & everyone sees you for the liar you are. I have no respect for either of them. I pray to God Romney replaces him.

      I agree with both of you! Cannot stand to hear or watch either of them……Scary thing is, if he is re-elected, it’s the end of this great country……..they are despicable! Marxist/Communist Saul Alinsky advocates!
