Posted on September 22, 2010 at 5:24pmNickylouse, I‘m a hs’ing parent as well. And to answer you about your tax break question… not on your life do we get a break. I suppose it’s no more annoying than those who have no children or whose children are grown and no longer in PS. There are so many ways that government is broken at this point. The sad part is that sub par has become so prevalent that it‘s no longer drawing the attention it should from parents and each district’s taxpayers. On the other hand, let someone mention that there is no money for PS sports, specifically football in my area, and you’d think the world was coming to an end from the public uproar. Priorities are so skewed it’s not funny.

Posted on September 22, 2010 at 7:22pmMy kids, who are all grown, were home-schooled for a few years and attended both private and public schools at various times. You folks may need to remember that universal schooling is one of the bedrock principles of our nation. Also, we all benefit from an educated populace and suffer from an uneducated one. Not everyone can afford private education and limiting a decent education to only those who have the means for private school would be a HUGE step backward and would be a disservice to us all.

I’ve worked in the past as a finish carpenter, mechanic, dock worker, whatever would pay the bills… My parents immigrated from Canada in the 50′s and my wife was born in Mexico City and is a U.S. citizen. We have a 14 year old daughter. I recently bought property in Arizona near the Grand Canyon and plan to start building in a year maybe two. I don’t know what an African/American is but I have a good American friend who happens to be black and used to be my boss when we worked together.

Posted on September 24, 2010 at 11:02amYes, it was created by a private company, but I’m pretty sure that it had to be approved by SOMEONE at the schools. So, yes, it DOES go back to the school.

Posted on September 22, 2010 at 2:13amwhat EVERYONE IS MISSING………..the transfer of wealth that these people are talking about is not what Americans think it is. This is not a transference or redistribution of wealth from rich Americans to poor Americans….. dont seem to grasp the true concept. This is a redistribution of wealth FROM America to the rest of the poor……in the REST OF THE WORLD. You have to realize every American is considered rich compared to most median calculations of income to other countries. They have already started the machine by Obama shutting down drilling and giving upwards of 4 billion dollars to Brazil and Mexico to do exactly what Obama has shut down the U.S. from doing. In the same area in order to “save the world and environment.“ This was not done to ”save the environment”, but was done to limit our production and greatly assist in a poorer country to produce a product that we then will be forced to purchase from them. This has allready started with solar panels and light bulbs- (of all things……cheap to us right now, and you say so what, but everything is cheaper to make elswhere….mexico/ china etc. with the de- industrializing of our nation helped along by union reps (not union members mind you ) whose self stated goal is a world union….WORKERS OF THE WORLD UNITE……WORKING IN COLUSION WITH THIS OBAMA ADMINISTRATION and the FED in their goals to create a world bank and a world government that will strip America of its wealth and spread it around with them in control of everything this IS COMING AND MUCH SOONER THAN YOU THINK UNLESS WE STAND UP AND STOP IT
I do not believe our government has the countries best interests as a goal. I know these videos are kinda long but if you watch these videos and then look at the goals of the big union bosses words of a world government, the veiwpoints and ideologies of all the people working with this administration who controls the fed bank and glenn becks 9/21 show it will help you all to make a decision on what these peoples goals really are.

Posted on September 22, 2010 at 7:35amAnd we are in deep, deep, doo-doo if we don’t stop this immediately.
I warning you people, this is not the road we want to go down. This will only server to impoverish the entire planet. You cannot build the wealth of someone by taking from someone else. It simply does not work, as has been proven time and again throughout history.
The world is better because of our wealth. Destroy our wealth and the rest of the world will suffer.

Posted on September 23, 2010 at 1:57pmThere are a lot of Homers/sheepples out there. The American people are getting the kind of government
Report Post »they deserve unfortunately. Comrade Billy Boy Clinton started this with “free trade” and the “north america free trade agreement” Marxist/progressives usually have do things one step at a time and/or a little bit at a time so you don,t catch on. They first needed a world economic system to finish up with a global government (But this has been going on for decades). Andy Stern of SEIU basically said, “We developed everything (overtime), but forgot a GLOBAL GOVERNMENT”. This has all been done by design.
Read Karl Marxist’s Ten Planks of the Communist Manifesto and you will see they are already in place in one way or another. Now they want to finish it by doing away with CAPITALISM.
Can’t remember who said it, “A nation who expects to be ignorant and free; is something that can not be”.

Report Post »Mikee T
Posted on September 22, 2010 at 9:23amYou know what people ? There is no need to get into a grammatically correct tiff here. Okay, we understand that some of you have decent vocabularies and understand grammar. To cite one of the people contributing here because they may not be as well versed in english grammar, is excessive and mean. If either of you would like to get into a grammar contest you can come see me…..stop the crap and stick to the cause which has nothing to do with someone making a grammatical error.
The point here is that there are “professionals” out here that are making serious money and have been charged with important things and they are categorically unqualified. For something like that to happen (this billboard error) is unconscionable. If you really want to research whats happening out here in education, as I have, you will undertand the reasons for this and will continue to see it daily. Our universities are a disgrace, plain and simple. The average ungraduate grade is an A-, an A- !!!! Can you believe that ? Meanwhile, our children are graduating without vocabulary skills, can’t do basic math and what can they do ? They have learned to speak to people in a politically correct manner, period. We are producing little progressive sheep out of our universities and if you think I don’t know what I am writing about, do the research yourself. School has become big business for liberals who I view as destructive, misguided people. I will give you one example as described by Angelo Codevilla in his book, “The Ruling Class”. Compare the state of Utah and the District of Columbia (Washington). For every dollar spent on education in Utah they average 2.7 SAT points. For every dollar spend in Washington (a school system infiltrated with left wing radicals) they receive .07 SAT points. Get it ? Generally speaking, I have had my fill with listening to liberals about anything at all. They have no substantive arguments about anything and are mean little people.

Posted on September 23, 2010 at 10:51amGet over yourself. Really? Drinking too much of that Limbaugh/Hannity/Beck kool aide are ya? You must have been one of those morons who thought the President addressing students was more liberal brainwashing. Let’s boil this down to what it really is. Some idiot in South Bend didn‘t proofread correctly and the spell checker didn’t catch it because pubic is a real word. Get over yourself and use your brain.
And also, it may help to spell education correctly if you are going to bash progressives.
Report Post »bkrizan
Posted on September 24, 2010 at 2:09am“Seriously: Get over yourself”????? Pot calling the kettle black, seems to me. Jumps dead in the middle of a tounge-in-cheek ironic comedy, and proceeds to thump that progressive Bible, telling us all to grow up and get serious, and get over ourselves. Go on back to Huffington Post, darlin’, until you grow up and learn how to read irony, and learn how to “get” sarcastic humor. Well, – oops, Huffington Post is the wrong polace to send you back to, if you want to learn how to just relax and breathe real oxygen, and have a real life. Um, Washington Post, maybe? Baby steps, hon – don’t try to go right into The Blaze – your brain will explode from the Culture Shock. Be nice, be polite, and realize that other people have an opinion, too – they really do have that right – and try to learn how to debate a point, without descending into name-calling, nastiness, and patronization: talking down to anyone, when you so obviously are brainwashed, only makes you look like twice the idiot. Deep Breaths.
