Gawker brings us a truly bizarre story of silent, masked beings staging “strange marches” across the country.
Reports have come in from Denver to New York City to L.A. that “strange marches” are being held in public areas, its members silent and wearing white masks with a single teardrop falling from the left “eye.“ They are carrying signs printed simply with ”#miracleday“ and ”miracleday.com“ and are distributing tiny black globes emblazoned with ”Miracle Day 07.08.11.”
Obviously this has something to do with what has been reported to be happening tonight.
As it turns out, the masked-marchers are part of a publicity stunt for a new STARZ original series titled Torchwood: Miracle Day. The premiss of the show is that, after Miracle Day, all of mankind will become immortal. That’s right. Come July 9, 2011, no one will ever die.
Below is the Torchwood trailer, complete with masked “scary” people:
So, will staged antics such as these compel you to watch Torchwood, or skip to the next channel?

Posted on July 9, 2011 at 6:40amJust a few hints –
Miracle Day –
No more bodies to the morgue as they don’t die in hospital or from car accidents.
No more funeral homes.
No zombies, just folks that never die. One characters father has a heart attack and is in the hospital. Will he get better or just live in misery forever?
One was in a terrible accident. One minute he was dead, the next he wasn’t. He is alive. Will his wounds ever heal?

Posted on July 9, 2011 at 6:37amI love Torchwood. I’ve been a fan for years. The location of the series is changing from the UK to America.
I watched the show and it’s rebroadcast last night. For some reason, while folks continue to live and never die, they don’t seem to heal. If you’ve a terminal disease, you just suffer.
I can’t wait until next week.
How will they save humanity from life in rotting bodies? Bodies that live and continue to age and sustain damage?
I guess immortality isn’t what some folks thought it was.

[54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. Posted on July 9, 2011 at 6:51amYes. They even had a criminal executed and he didn’t die. A man blew himself up and his remains continued to live, as did his consciousness.
The problem as the Torchwood folks see it? With no one dying, the population of the globe increases at an alarming rate. They calculate that mass starvation should start to happen within four months.
A theme for not keeping people alive with medical care? Is there a hidden agenda?
You see people in hospital, and they appear to be suffering. Why can’t they die? Are there hidden messages?

Posted on July 9, 2011 at 1:18amNaw, I don’t need trailers, previews, etc. — interesting marketing, though. I’ll be watching it, because I likes me just about everything Doctor Whoish. I’ll take a lot of creativity, imagination and plot with a limited production budget, rather than the opposite, any day.
