Why is Chris Christie Hugging MSNBC Host Mika Brzezinski?

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was in New York City today making the rounds on the morning shows. After he stopped at “Fox and Friends” to talk about his reforms in New Jersey and his heated exchange recently with a parent over his choice to send his kids to private school, he headed over to MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” There, his appearance ended when he gave often-contentious host Mika Brzezinski a hug. Say what?

The embrace came at the end of a long 15-minute interview, and after the segment started with Mika wondering out loud if the blunt governor is “huggable.” The answer, apparently, is “yes he is:”

Christie’s response of “Eat your heart out America” may be a debatable phrase among conservatives considering Mika’s seeming contempt for conservatives and their principles.

You can watch the full interview below. In it, Christie discusses how people confuse bluntness with inflexibility, how the two aren’t “mutually exclusive,” his now-infamous school exchange, and how Obama is “failing” on the debt issue:

You can also watch both clips from his interview with Fox, in which he discuses who might be catching his eye for the 2012 GOP nomination:

Mika Brzezinski the ear-phoned hooked-up morning news talking head who recites everything she hears through the ear-phones coming directly from the White House speaker system in the Oval Office, has decided on her own (WOW!) to get up out of her seat and give a big hug to Chris Christie New Jersey’s cartoon Governor, and it makes big news. WOW! Barack Obama probably did a back flip when they their cheeks met, or then again maybe he asked her to give Christie a big one from him, who knows?

I think I wouldn’t have a problem giving Mika a hug, I would be very concerned about his sanity and his health if he was to hug Clinton, Maddow, Napolitano or Pelosi. I would worry about his sanity because hugging one of them I would have to put a paper bag over their faces and then still fight back the nausea. As for his health, if I was to hug one of them I would be immediately be searching to find the knife stuck in my back as I was going to the hospital to have it removed. The only thing that I saw that was untrue was when he said that obama was a leader. Obama would not know how to be a leader if it bit him on the butt and then jumped in his face.

You people need to look closer than this guy’s tough talk. He is a RINO. Christie’s weak on immigration, he supports what he calls “a commonsense path to citizenship” – which is what conservatives call “amnesty.” He was conspicuously absent from that multistate suit to end Obamacare. Christie is a cap & tax fan, endorsed RINO Mike Castle over Christine O’Donnell, etc… Just another loud mouth.

A lot of people have been heavily critical of Christie, and I agree with a lot of it- But, unlike BO, I don’t think Christie is a wannabe dictator. No matter what Christie‘s opinions are on some of the issues he’s been accused of being a RINO on (rightfully so with some things)- not a thing can happen unless the Congress gets a bill to him. With the large gain in Republicans in the house (many true conservatives) and more coming during the 2012 elections— as well as the chance to make up valuable ground in the Senate, I just don’t see any of the criticisms or concerns about Christie being realized. The bigger concerns should be due to leaders that don’t care for the rule of law as it applies to them.
