Why Is MSNBC Blind to Obama’s 2012 Presidential Poll Loss?

Earlier today MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell reported on the recent Presidential Poll taken in New Hampshire, but somehow completely missed the glaring news that President Obama lost to Mitt Romney by 8 points. Instead the report was focused on Sarah Palin and what the MSM considers to be her shrinking chances for a successful White House run.
Perhaps Ms. Mitchell and the MSNBC crew was in such a hurry to get this story on the air they missed the last paragraph with the very telling statistic;
Obama’s chances of winning New Hampshire depend, at this point, on his opponent. In a hypothetical race between Obama and Romney, Romney leads, 49 to 41 percent. Against Palin, Obama does much better, leading 57 to 34 percent.
The Palin Obsession once seen as the exclusive territory of MSNBC’s Prime Time line-up appears to have drifted into the daylight hours.

The problem is we don‘t have the LIBERTY of that being our only choice this time around or we’ll have NO LIBERTIES LEFT! We are in dire times, with them disregarding the Constitution at every turn. What our founders Prayed, and pledged everything for, and our Patriots fought and died for, (and those who still are.) is in danger of being thrown overboard for a chant, and mass hypnosis. We must pray hard for, who, God would have lead us back to what He gave us to begin with, and then pray for them each step of the way. “Anyone to the right of”, just doesn’t cut it anymore!

Posted on February 15, 2011 at 11:40pmYa, I mean heaven forbid if the “conservative” group gets behind a constitutionalist. After all, “conservatives” care just as much about the Constitution as liberals. Or at least unless its convenient. For “conservatives”when it comes to unconstitutional wars they could give a damn about the Constitution, but when it comes to Obamacare they wrap themselves up in it. Long ago I called myself a Republican because at that time I thought they more closely followed the constitution. When they fell away from that I called myself a conservative, believing they would strive to “conserve” the constitution. Sadly no… Finally I call myself a Constitutionalist, and finally I have found a title you Neo-Con fake conservatives can hijack! A TRUE AMERICAN IS NEITHER REPUBLICAN NOR DEMOCRAT, LIBRAL NOR CONSERVATIVE. A TRUE AMERICAN IS A CONSTITUTIONALIST. AN ABIDER, SUPPORTER AND DEFENDER OF THE SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND. And sadly, Ron Paul is the only Constitutionalist Presidential Candidate this nation has had in a long time, and all you sad people can do is mock him and say he has no chance. For those of you of that ilk, you are just as much to blame for the falling of this nation as the liberals.

Paul has some very good ideas and some very bad ones…
while there are some valid reasons to pull back from foreign involvement, complete isolationalism is not practical in this day and age. i do think that we should cut our troops on foreign soil and our foreign aid drastically, but we can’t disappear back onto our own soil completely.
while I agree that the FED is completely outside its charter and acting outside the Constitution currently, I don’t think we can just eliminate it and move into a gold standard without some transition period. the FED charter has to be revoked and all assetts returned to the Department of Treasury, liquidated, accounts audited, and order maintained. the US should call in all loans given to foreign banks under the FED and require immediate and full payment of funds from any foreign nation or institution since the FED was never authorized to give US money to foreign sources – in fact we just make them all pay us in gold and we use that money to transition to the gold standard. main problem is that currently the US doesn’t even have a trillion in gold..we would still have to deal with major price adjustments which many people would be hurt by.
i agree with Rep Paul about Congress and the Courts overstepping their Constitutional duties…i agree that the office of the President has taken too much control over deploying the military without declaration of war, even though I believe as CnC of the military, the President can use the military at will without Congressional declaration…and then Congress can just not fund the effort. i agree that the Federal government is too bloated and big. we all agree on these things if we are true Constitutional Tea Party minded patriots.
the problem with Ron Paul is that he comes across as a kook! he spouts off with “the sky is falling” comments and people laugh at him, even if he has the facts on his side. he doesn’t present the information in a way that makes people say “you know, this guy is right,“ he presents it in a way that makes people think ” hey this guy is a nut.” he talks about legalize all drugs, abortion, gay marriage, and the like. Too many people still feel that morality has a place in government and taking the Judea-Christian values out of the USA is the problem, not the lack of complete libertarian ideals. Ron Paul ****** all these people off so the evangelicals and fundamental religious blow him off as an amoral looney without even realizing they agree with him on as much as they disagree, or more so.
so when you get informed people together that have checked their own facts and come to the same conclusions as Ron Paul, maybe not as hysterically, and they take a straw poll at a gathering of people like this…he seems to poll better than when you look across the whole country and have less informed people, that while annoyed at the government, don’t see it as the big bad wolf, he doesn’t do so well.
the 2008 election was the perfect example. he didn’t do so well at the ballot even if the polls said people agreed with him. he needs to learn to actually be more like his son, Rand…who while saying some of the same things as his father, does so in a much more eloquent and refined way.

Posted on February 16, 2011 at 11:29amHerman Cain is a more genuine and likeable figure than Romney. Romney has no chance to win the South, as we saw in 2008. Accepting Romney as the candidate because the elitists say he’s the one who can beat Obama is nonsense. This isn’t a Mike Castle-Christine O’Donnell choice, though this seems to be the way some Romney supporters are framing it. Some of the candidates running against Romney have as impressive a business/leadership background, but without the baggage of a health care fiasco (regardless of the state constitutionality) or the elitist image.
My choice is Herman Cain. Obama and the Left can–and will–play the race card in this election, and Cain is the only one running who is obviously equipped to deal with it. The Left already fears Cain, as the attack ads filled with racial slurs have already begun to emerge. How many attack pieces have there been on Romney? He is McCain II, the Revenge of the RINOs.

The people keeping the birther issue alive are the Democrats. Abercrombie in Hawaii has made a career out of taunting Republicans.
During the ‘08 campaign when “questions” arose concerning McCain’s eligibility because he was born in the Panama Canal territory, congress actually looked into McCain’s eligibility to run for POTUS and he produced a birth certificate. In reality, I believe those that “questioned” McCain’s eligibility were just working the system and providing diversional cover for Obama. So, Hotrod, why aren’t you asking the president to just produce his birth certificate and shut up all those “deranged and delusional” folks and be careful about questioning the intelligence of others, because it brings into doubt just how smart you think you are.
Oh, just for the record, I believe Obama was born in the United States, but if he produces his birth certificate it will destroy the life story he has put forth in his autobiographies and show him to be the fake that his performance in office is showing on a daily basis. Personally, I would like to see his passport files, Occidental College application papers and records from Harvard indicating who financed his law school tuition.

I don‘t doubt President Obama’s citizenship or christianity, but I believe he is using the birther issue to provide cover for his school records (which supposedly show he got financial aid as an foreign exchange student) and the issue of what nationality passport he used to travel to Cuba. While i don’t believe either of these disqualify him to be President, they do go to the question of character. And now that the voters have seen him as just another politician, and not the messiah, legitimate questions about his character will have to be raised.
On a side note: shouldn’t the question be “Why is MSNBC blind?”

Posted on February 16, 2011 at 12:37amPalin and Bachman are not going to be able to get elected I would love it if they could but they will not be able to. They are very popular with the tea party but there are too many independents that cannot stand either one and these people really would vote for Obama over them. Sarah Palin does have extremely high name recognition but the problem is everyone has already made their minds up about her and while I do believe she will stand the test of time one election cycle will not be enough to get those negative erased plus that would take tremendous resources, she may be able to be a vice president but her negatives are too high for President. Mitt Romney has a very solid record and a tremendous organization and a whole army of donors and without lametream media cheerleading it will take someone with high name recognition and resources which Mitt Romney has. If you look back on history only Democrats can get the Presidency without already having tremendous name recognition before the presidential campaign. That leaves basically Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, and Donald Trump and Ron Paul who I really like and agree mostly with but has no chance of getting elected. Remember even Ronald Reagan got beat by Gerald Ford for the Republican nomination his first time out and Gerald Ford was beat by Jimmy Carter so the excuse that Mitt lost the nomination to John McCain is not a valid reason to not support him as it takes a run to build the organization and the name recognition and to learn from your mistakes which I can guarantee Mitt Romney has.

Posted on February 16, 2011 at 12:56amNewt Gingrich was a major cheerleader and force to get NAFTA and GATT passed and is a member of the CFR. Those treaties have had catastrophic effects on our economy and caused many jobs to leave our country. If you remember the 1992 Presidential election that was the giant sucking sound Ross Perot was always talking about…Jobs leaving our country because of NAFTA and GATT. Ross Perot came out against John McCain in the last election and endorsed Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney is by far the most qualified of all of the candidates running he has tremendous business experience, a former Governor and has already ran and built a nationwide organization. I knew he was our only hope in 2008 and so did the lamestream media and they absolutely vilified him. He could have been successful if his campaign did not get sabotaged by Huckabee, Charlie Christ and the back-room deals they were making with RINO McCain. He showed real class in gracefully supporting McCain in the hopes of defeating Obama and he would have done the same for Huckabee or whoever got the nomination, I guarantee they would have not done the same for him.

At least the dinosaurs kind of just did what they do. 6.5 billion people on the planet. Only 4.5 billion in 1980. Absolutely unsustainable. Dark days lie ahead. Oil has increased the carrying capacity of the planet well beyond what it would otherwise be. I see no point anymore. Yeah, I’m depressed today.

Posted on February 16, 2011 at 2:51amYou people who are slamming Mitt Romney do not have a clue what you are talking about. Name one Presidential candidate who won the Presidency without a previous run. To win the Presidency takes tremendous name recognition and resources and a strong organization if you are not a Democrat who get all kinds of free publicity and favorable manupulation from the lamestream media. Case in point the last three Carter, Clinton and Obama none were widely known but the Republicans basically have one realistic choice and that is Mitt Romney. You need to stop listening to lamestream and establishment soundbytes and opinions on Mitt Romney. His healthcare plan was constitutional and done on a state level, did not raise taxes and unlike Obamacare the people of Mass thought they wanted it and he was competent enough to get it done in a state with a huge Democratic majority. He has come out against any national healthcare plan and definitely is against Obamacare. Other than that and his change of becoming pro life he has no baggage and nobody is perfect. To give you examples Christie is against the 2nd amendment, Trump donated to the likes of Anthony Wiener and Charles Shumer campaigns and will not go on Mark Levine’s radio show to answer questions and Mark has invited him many times. Newt Gingrich was speaker of the house and a major force in getting NAFTA and GATT passed and is a member of the CFR. Ron Paul although I agree with him on a lot of issues will not be able to get anywhere near double digit numbers on the National Level and Sarah Palin has way too high of negatives, unfair but there is no way she has the resources or the time to overcome those before 2012. Mitt Romney is the only one who has the organization in place and the resources and a very impressive business and political background. He is also performs very good in debates and will trounce Obama when given the chance. He has tremendous backbone as you do not get to be the CEO of Bain Capital without a backbone of steel. You need to read his book because he is definitely the right candidate and is not a member of the CFR. The more I have got to know him the more I have come to like him and I am probably as conservative and pro constitution of almost anyone on here. Mitt Romney is not a RINO and you are really shown your lack of research how prone you are to believing propaganda when you say these things about him. Start with his book “No Apologies” and check many sources on him using critical thinking and attend a live event of his like I have and I almost guarantee that the more research you do the more you will like him. Check this video out this shows how humble and selfless this guy is this will help you begin to see the Mitt Romney that I know: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqyqu-Vgusc

True
“New Hampshire has an individual mandate for insurance by the way. It’s going to be hard for Mitt to explain why he supported that for his own state but now for anyone else if he runs for President.”
False. Massachusetts and Hawaii have a mandate, nowhere else does. New Hampshire is something of a bastion of original-intent revolutionary liberty, especially in comparison to the rest of New England.
You meant to say Massachusetts I suspect, since Romney was governor there. And he can oppose Obamacare on a national level because the Federal government is not even vaguely empowered to enact such onerous legislation. Powers not specifically spelled out in the Constitution are reserved to the states, or people, respectively. You should know that I’d hope.

“As far as the Constitutionality of the individual mandate, that is for the Supreme Court to decide. Not Rush Limbaugh or you, although you certainly have a right to an opinion.”
That’s neither here nor there. It was an answer to “how could he oppose it at the Federal level”. The reason is because he believes (and frankly, rightly believes regardless of SCOTUS) that powers are reserved for the states, or people respectively, if not specifically delegated to the Federal government.
I’ve always found the notion that “SCOTUS determines what is Constitutional” rather absurd and something of a modern invention. They are empowered solely to review and rule on lower court appellate rulings, nowhere are they granted final say on the Constitutionality of anything. I’ve always been curious as to when, precisely, the “only they can decide the Constitutionality of something” started, culturally. Probably the same time people started calling us a “democracy” instead of a Constitutional Republic. That is of course, speculation, but fodder for research for me today. :)
