Why Is the Obama Administration Lobbying for the Early Release of a Convicted Terrorist?

Abdul Rahman Al-Amoudi is an American citizen who was convicted of conspiracy to murder a Saudi Prince on behalf of Libya. On July 8th, Forbes reported that federal prosecutors are pushing for his early release from prison. Efforts to discover more of the details about this proposed release have been frustrating:

The documents explaining why prosecutors want to cut Alamoudi’s sentence are under seal, and the U.S. Attorney‘s Office in Alexandria declined to say how many years they are seeking to cut from Alamoudi’s term.

Mr. Al-amoudi has served just nine years of a twenty-three year sentence. The initial sentencing is reported here:

“Aldurahman M. Alamoudi, a naturalized U.S. citizen who was born in Eritrea, was sentenced to 276 months in jail by District Judge Claude M. Hilton in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, this morning. On July 30, 2004, Alamoudi pleaded guilty to three federal offenses: one count of violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), which imposes terrorism-related sanctions prohibiting unlicensed travel to and commerce with Libya; one count of false statements made in his application for naturalization; and a tax offense involving a long-term scheme to conceal from the IRS his financial transactions with Libya and his foreign bank accounts and to omit material information from the tax returns filed by his charities.”

Considering the offenses listed above, especially the one count of making false statements in his application for naturalization, it might seem amazing to some that Al-Amoudi’s naturalization was not reversed. But his citizenship has not be rescinded. Instead, Al-Amoudi is in prison, hoping for an early release at the behest of the Obama administration.

The question remains, Why would this man be released just nine years into a twenty-three year sentence? Reading further into the DOJ press release from 2005, we find that Mr. Al-Amoudi was actually helping Libyan officials with a plot of kill a Saudi Prince (who has since become King of Saudi Arabia).

Initially, during a meeting on March 13, 2003, Alamoudi and Libyan government officials discussed creating “headaches” and disruptions in Saudi Arabia. As the scheme continued, however, Alamoudi learned that the actual objective was the assassination of Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah. Alamoudi participated in recruiting participants for this plot by introducing the Libyans to two Saudi dissidents in London and facilitating the transfer of hundreds of thousands of dollars of cash from the Libyans to those dissidents to finance the plot.

Is it possible that the Obama administration believes Abdul Rahman Al-Amoudi still has connections in Libya that might yield intel to help us in the current Kinetic Military Action (war) in Libya? (Forbes suggests so)

Or, does this have more to do with the President trying, once again, to create a better connection to the Muslim community around the world? Could this be part of the “Muslim outreach?”

Wednesday morning (7/20), former U.S. Congressman Fred Grandy and his wife (Mrs. Fred) discussed the Abdul Rahman Al-Amoudi situation on the Jeff Katz Radio Show out of Boston.  Mr. Grandy and his wife regularly report on “creeping Sharia” in America, and they make a pretty strong case against the proposed release of this convicted terrorist:

Reviewing the facts we know about Al-Amoudi:

  • He worked for President Clinton – as a Muslim adviser to the White House and also met with President Bush.
  • Al-Amoundi is considered to be founder of the Muslim Chaplin program in the US Military and Prisons.
  • Newsweek Magazine described Al-Amoudi as “an expert in the art of deception.”
  • His plea deal allowed for 31 additional charges to be dropped in exchange for a 23-year sentence.

In the film “The Third Jihad” (featuring narration by Dr. Zudhi Jasser), Mr. Al-Amoudi can be seen singing the praises of terrorist groups like Hamas and Hizbollah. You can see that at about 2:20 into this video below:

Abdul Rahman Al-Amoudi was sentenced to serve twenty-three years in prison. His guilt was never in question. So why are Federal Prosecutors pushing for his release?

    Why in the world would the DOJ and the Executive branch want to free a convicted terrorist before he has served even 1/2 of his prison sentence? What in the world is going on with our Government? This is outrageous but unfortunately outrageous is the norm with the present regime. Anyone want to be that we won’t hear anything about this from the mainstream media?

      Its obvious why this administration is attempting this. You just have to read Muslim Brotherhood. They are in negitiations with Egypt and they know that the MB is going to be in charge. They as with all appeasers are now going to appease this terrorist organization with the release of this man.

      Basically in the negotiations with the MB they have stated that he needs to be released from jail. The administration is attempting to do this undercover.

    Americans better wake up! Our government has been infiltrated. This white house and administration is “hitleresque” and doing collateral damage on all fronts..to the point that we may not be able to overcome their purposeful destruction from the inside out. By the time we get it all straight the damage very well could be irreversible. I pray otherwise but there are still so many people who want to give him the benefit of the doubt – I doubt there is enough time to fix it, 2012 is still way too far away!

      Ever since his nomination for the office, many of us who have done homework on him realized that his only purpose was to forward the progressive agenda. The goal or first step was to steal power from the people enacting obamacare. Back then, many knew that 1/6th of our freedoms were at risk.

      We need to remember (and study) who he surrounded himself with and what they stood for. We need to remember that once in office, he replaced all, everybody from receptionist to his lobbyist. We all know that some are always replaced but to the extent which he did was uncommon. We need to remember that he stated the white house would ‘control’ the information comming out of it and being released.

      He pitted race against race, union against non-union, the haves against the have nots, the poor against the rich, and all of this was done while the goal was to destroy the dollar. The one world government can not be accomplished without the loosing value of that dollar. He has bowed to other countries, lied directly to us, (and by he, I include the people whom he surrounded himself with), twisted and decieved all who were not paying attention.

      He bought the media to use as a voice and he certianly has shown us that he is no more than a community organizer rather than a leader.

      barry is in the house for at least to 2012 unless he is impeached. There is enough evidence the he and many others have treasoned but he has surrounded himself with enough people to keep him safe.

The poor are more dependent, the people just above the poor who were making it through the skin of their teeth are no more. The middle class have been lowered and now if you listen to the whats being said, millioniars and above are in the scope.

      He has accomplished that which he has set out to do and although we have not felt the full brunt of his, or should I say the socialistic government strength, we will. Things will get much worse.

      Has anyone noticed the stock market is going up in midst of continuing bad economic news. That in itself is not understandale but with this administration, deception is all around and astonishing abundant.

      We are extreamly close to loosing the United to Socialism/communism.
      We are extreamly close to revolting and revolution.

      We need to reboot, go through some very hard and tring times, and fall back on the paper which made us who we were — the CONSTITUTION.

      @ FedUp — Understand the matter here as well; it is like trying to get the church groups to come in and support Israel, some get it and a lot just look at you and scoff with the “cannot ever happen here or there” look you have mentioned.

      Right on the money, the Obama care is a well established plan for total population control; unless you are an allied with, or of the administration and the progressive socialists; then you will be allowed to have the best access to any and all the needed health care in the nation.

      In the case of the terrorist here being freed early, supposedly for his links and information of usage in Libya; no, it is being done by Obama for just one main purpose, undercut again and again all that the nation stands for and traditionally goes for in the matter of legal and civil justice.

      This is again, Mr Obama turning the nation on the collective head of all we stand for as a nation.

      This was brought to light years ago. Beck also had several shows about this. When I read the HC Bill (& I did) I posted all this on the Blaze.       What does Obama being a communist have to do with the fact that McD’s is in Vietnam and businesses are in China? If anything, it’s capitalism spreading around the world to provide the finer things in life to the non-free citizens of those countries.

      Oh, and the fact that our gov’t recognizes the mb only proves our instincts were correct (when this no-name wannabe was forced down our throats by the uneducated only because of his skin color) that something isn’t right about this guy. He wants the mb in charge, not us AMERICANS.

      You and the rest of the world can “progress” without all of us “retarded capitalists”. We will be just happy if all you lefties move along and leave our country alone.

    Why indeed! Perhaps it his connection with Libya….duh…of COURSE it is his connection to Libya…would work out well either way for BO …both with Libya and with the Muslim Brotherhood. I’m not surprised that the DOJ is involved in working toward his early release. This is just more of the same in selling out Israel and the US….why is he still a citizen???????!!!

    If a Republican was doing this, can you imagine the steady drum beat in the press over it? The internet may be the only place you’ll even hear about it. The press is too busy digging for dirt on Bachmann and Palin to be bothered with a real story that would outrage the American people if they knew about it.
