Why is This Repub. Hopeful in Duckie PJ’s Next to a Near-Naked Blonde?

We can’t really explain — although we’ll try later — why this man is in duckie pajamas next to a scantly-clad woman, but we can tell you exactly who he is.
Meet Blake Farenthold, a Republican U.S. congressional candidate from Texas’s 27th district. He’s a businessman and radio host who believes in “faith, family, hard work, and limited government.” He has a wife and two daughters. And apparently a thing for pajama parties.
Now that you know the who, here’s the why.
According to the magazine We The People, the cover of which features the pajama-clad Farenthold, the picture was taken at a fundraiser called “Tellie’s Pajama Party.” The originals*, which the mag claims are not photoshopped, are posted on the website thecrushgirls.com, which calls itself “Corpus Christi’s Entertainment News.“ Its ”girls” are apparently dispatched to different events to promote the site, and “Tellie’s“ is said to have been an ”annual Pajama/Lingerie Party for Charity.”
Not surprisingly, Farenthold’s Democratic opponent, incumbent Rep. Solomon Ortiz, is hoping to capitalize on Farenthold’s cover boy status:
(H/T: TPM)
The pajama party could be the ammunition Ortiz needs to fend off Farenthold. The NRCC lists Farenthold as a “contender” on its website, and Farenthold’s own site boasts a blog post titled “Blake Number 26 in Top 50 Tea Party Election Races.” The blog, though, features only the headline and no explanation.
Farenthold, however, won’t go down without a fight. Delivering what he hopes will be a knock out blow to Ortiz, Farenthold recently launched the successful “chicken campaign.”
Claiming that the congressman was avoiding a debate, Farenthold called on constituents to send Ortiz rubber chickens until he acquiesced and agreed to one. Or agreed to one and actually showed up, which Fahrenthold’s camp says has been a problem. If Ortiz dodged another debate, Farenthold threatened to still hold one, but with a stand in: Congressman Chicken, a life-sized replica of Ortiz in a chicken costume.
It worked. Ortiz has agreed to a debate on October 26th. With a story such as this, chicken-costume black mail actually working shouldn’t be surprising.
*(The originals claim to be from 12/28/09, although added on 5/12/09, and were taken at a charity event. The story has been updated to reflect the event’s charity claim.)
UPDATE:
According to other photos of the event on crushgirls.com, fundraising may have included the following:

Most have the common sense of a three year old and the work ethic of a sloth. Yes. I went to college. Got a great indoctrination. Too bad most of the professors didn’t know half as much about what they were teaching as I did as a student. You see, I actually did what they were trying to teach. They had book knowledge, but no actual hands on. When you can’t do, you teach.

Posted on October 16, 2010 at 3:58pmI received this in an email and thought it was worth posting as a reminder of what and when things happened….. please cut and paste if you agree
Remember January 3, 2007
…… I don‘t understand WHY the people running for office don’t say this in their ads!!!
The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 it was actually January 3, 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, the start of the 110th Congress.
The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this:
January 3, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
At the time:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!
Remember the day.
January 3, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over as Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
Thank Congress for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment to this CRISIS by dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco’s!
(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001, because it was financially risky for the U.S. economy, but no one was listening).
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA.
And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie??? OBAMA and the Democratic Congress.
So when someone tries to blame Bush…
REMEMBER JANUARY 3, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!”
Bush may have been in the car, but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving. Set the record straight on Bush!
So, as you listen to all the commercials and media from the Democrats who are now distancing themselves from their voting record and their party, remember how they didn‘t listen to you when you said you didn’t want all the bailouts, you didn’t want the health care bill, you didn’t want cap and trade, you didn‘t want them to continue spending money we don’t have.
I’m not forgetting their complicity in getting us into this mess, and I’ll be marking my vote accordingly!

“Women of Grace is an outreach of Living His Life Abundantly® International, Inc. Its purpose is to encourage and affirm women in their dignity as daughters of God and in their gift of authentic femininity.”

I think some churches don’t preach “authentic femininity” anymore – love that term!…we women have special shoes to fill to and it doesn‘t have to be the same as a man’s to be valued in the sight of God.

This bothers them tremendously. Last time I looked, there were no political messages associated with duckies, but I just may be behind the Times on this (pun intended).
I guess they don’t get the concept of a “costume party”. Let’s be clear here. Are they lobbying for everyone to wear the Chinese blue worker pants and the Mao top or a hijab??

To myself, “normal” is the diversity each and every one of us across the land has in heart, mind, body and dreams. In this diversity I see our “normal” as a resevour of great strength and potential without end. People say American time of greatness is past; yet I see a new potential to be even greater than that which has come before!!!

Posted on October 17, 2010 at 12:04amShow, we must appeal to a larger audience than Tea Party people to successfully restore our liberties. Sure stand tall and send a clear message. But that message will fall on deaf ears, if we have idiosyncratic background and behavior that can be expoited by the MSM and our electoral opponents.
Normal behavior would be determined by a local selection committee who better knows what the constituency wants and is willing to accept. I would hope in every electoral office we would at least a couple of Tea Party people exp;ress interest.
That said, I do fully realize that the MSM will spin everything and even lie about a person. IMO, we MUST take this reality into serious consideration.

Posted on October 16, 2010 at 5:41pmOh come on! He’s just standing next to the girl in what looks like pajamas with footies. He doesn’t even have his harm around her. Unless they have a picture doing something funky in those jammies with that girl, I see it as a non- issue…especially since this was a charity party.

Posted on October 16, 2010 at 5:45pmWhat would you rather he be standing next to Nancy Opelosi? It was for charity. It shows he has good taste, besides get your mind out of the gutter.

Posted on October 16, 2010 at 6:24pmBeing from Corpus, I can say that Ortiz is another career politician that needs to go with the other obama rubber stamper’s.
Farenthold‘s at a charity fund raiser standing next to a lady that’s dressed pretty hot. Got his picture taken. So for now on he need‘s to make sure he’s not around anybody that may look hot? Bill Clinton can F*** intern’s in the oval office, Ted Kenedy can f*** waitress‘ in a restraunt but Farenthold can’t go to a pajama charity fund raiser and be seen even close to a woman?
The double standard again.

Posted on October 16, 2010 at 6:24pmIt is apperantly for a charitable events – especially the big brothers big sisters organization within the area. Somehow I get the feeling that indeed the Democrats are out for blood, and that he should have considered a bit of better judgment.
If he is still able to do the job though, then let the people elect him on his principles, people do make errors of judgment and can admit they are such errors.
We will see in November what the people wish.

Posted on October 16, 2010 at 10:29pmI agree with MIZFLAME. If you had taken pictures at my senior breakfast in high school you would have a bit more to talk about than this. Looks innocent enough and it was for a charity. If he was actually caught sneaking off with the girl in the picture that would be something. This just seems like more democrats taking crazy editorial privilege like the Taliban Dan ad. Next thing they will start showing naked baby pictures of contenders. The kind your mom always pulled out when you brought a girlfriend home. They will use these to say that the candidate has a history as a nudist.

Posted on October 17, 2010 at 3:27amYes Fudd I agree with you. Although I’m already embarrassed just being from California. The Working-on-an-Orgy Fundraiser was not a good choice to be seen in. He needs to stick with the dinner/speaker/auction-type of fundraiser.

Posted on October 17, 2010 at 4:15amcome on fudd d dudd, having fun for charity is no embarrassment. It shows a person that’s down to earth enough to have fun, without fear, for great causes. What more could you ask for than a real, selfless, confident person who will be real. Christian is great, but don’t take it to the point where you believe you are judge…there‘s only one and I guarantee you’re not it. Sorry, the truth hurts.

Posted on October 17, 2010 at 11:55amThis is only a scandal because he’s not a sitting Democratic representative. As a Dem, he’d be deemed well-qualified. At least the donations go to mainstream charities and not Greenpeace. What’s the issue here? I can see more skin at any beach and more shocking activities in Pelosi‘s hometown or Frank’s residence any day of the week.

Posted on October 17, 2010 at 12:03pmHe did it for charity. He’s a real down to earth man of the people, not some stuffy, arrogant, condescending, dirt bag bureaucrat or politician. Most of whom view the government as the only worthwhile charity.

Posted on October 17, 2010 at 12:42pmYo’ FUDD! I know you’re statement is a joke…right? We need more folks that aren’t so uptight and keep their “IMPROPER” behavior in the closet to only be outed down the road after they‘ve tried to put on like they’re some kind of perfect, never had any incident of pretty much overwhelming human nature behavior. You Go Blake Farenthold! LOL!!!!!!!

Posted on October 17, 2010 at 4:35pmMakes me prouder to be born in Texas. Freedom means having these events. Doesn’t mean you have to attend them. I have seen worse on TV. Personally, I wouldn’t have gone w/the duckies. Cowboy boots are more my style.(I would have to buy a pair, though)
