Why Were Low-Flying Military Choppers Darting Between Chicago Skyscrapers?

With the NATO security summit a little more than a month away in Chicago, the city is in high gear preparing for the influx of dignitaries and world leaders. Most recently, Blackhawks and A/MH-6 Little Bird helicopters were seen cruising among the skyscrapers, but officials state that this was part of a routine training in urban environments, unrelated to summit preparations. Still, others speculate it is in fact related to the May 20-21 event.

The local Fox affiliate reports this training exercise “rattled windows” of some downtown offices, not to mention the nerves of witnesses. It also states that some viewers reported men hanging out of the windows with automatic weapons.
According to My Fox Chicago, the city was warned with a press release about the exercise, but it didn’t quite prepare residents and workers for what they were going to see:
“It was frightening,” Jessica Hill said. “I was definitely alarmed.”
At least three Blackhawk helicopters flying at time in close order formation – at other times separating fairly widely — zoomed around office and residential towers for several hours.
“I was pretty amazed,” Felise Llano said, “because they were definitely military.”
Witnesses described three to four very heavily armed men in each chopper. Several said some of the men appeared to be tethered and were at times literally hanging out of the choppers, and looked ready to jump.

My Fox Chicago also points out that the details about some security preparations for the Nato Summit were released by the Secret Service recently, including several terrorist and crowd control measures. The Chicago Sun Times called this list of materials ordered for the event “sensitive but unclassified.”
As the city prepares for the event, so do protesters. A march is being organized against the summit with the organizer Andy Thayer calling NATO “the world’s most expansive and dominating military empire in history,“ and ”the key to US military dominance abroad.”

This helicopter action over downtown areas is not knew at all, we saw this only a couple of months ago over Los Angeles, CA and only to find out that it was being done last summer over Boston and a few others. I think these are practice runs for evacs of the Banker elite who the people have indicated are targets for their rage. The small birds run interference for the evac Blackhawk! Anybody shooting up at them will get erased by the miniguns on the small birds.

Probably also thinks we won the war in Vietnam, not to mention Iraq. However, I am going to go out on a limb here and proffer that he is lying and is not a CSM, perhaps not even honorably discharged for that matter. I have never met any Senior NCOs who would disrespect fellow soldiers that way.
Also, for him to say that it is untrue that Ron Paul has received more support from the military than the other Republican candidates has been proven to be true time and time again. These are statistics that the candidates have to report by law. Ron Paul has received more donations from the military than ALL of the other candidates combined. TIME_2 thinks the military is all pro-conservative warhawks. Then tell me TIME_2, why did Obama receive more donations than the other Republicans as well??

Paul who always rails against the way Washington operates had figured out how to game the system pretty well I’d say.
In 2009 COLT, Paul voted against a $410 billion omnibus spending bill that passed over his objections and Paul played a role in obtaining 22 earmarks worth $96.1 million, which led the Houston congressional delegation of more than 8,500 congressionally mandated projects inserted into the bill.
By doing this, Paul got to have his cake and eat it, too. Not only can he claim to have voted against the measure, he got to suck millions of taxpayer dollars into his own district. Pretty slick, isn’t it COLT?
Paul was one of only four House Republicans to break with his party’s earmark moratorium in 2011.
Paul sent 41 earmark requests totaling $157,093,544 for the 2011 Fiscal Year” and For Fiscal Year 2010, Paul requested 54 total earmarks, adding up to $398,460,640 in pork that the Paul sought to bring home to his district.
I would say thet Paul engaged in a bit of hypocrisy over earmarks for victims of Hurricane Katrina too. But you can research THAT on your own COLT.

Those “earmarks” do NOT add ONE PENNY to the federal budget or national debt. All those earmarks do is DESIGNATE where the money ALREADY processed will go to. If this money is NOT allocated by Congress, it WILL go to the Executive branch. Obama will have a big blank check, and we won’t be able to know on what his administration uses it on. In other words, Paul has NOT asked for ANY money. THAT money was already set aside for spending. ALL Paul has done is represent his district and make sure that money goes back to American citizens, and not to greedy politicians in Washington DC.
TIME_2_STOP_TALKING_OUT_OF_HIS_… will just keep lying and twisting things he doesn’t understand.

First and least significant…earmarks are a way for our Congressmen to represent their constituents by getting ‘tax dollars’ back to them. In other words…they are doing what they were ELECTED to do.

Cutting earmarks will NOT cut spending/debt one IOTA; THAT money still gets SPENT regardless of the earmark outcome. IF an earmark is NOT placed in the bill, THAT money gets spent by the executive branch (i.e. OBAMA) with NO disclosure/transparency.
So…if there were no earmarks then there would be NO transparency for that money, and THAT money still gets SPENT. The money that would have gone to the ‘earmark’ instead goes to the executive branch (i.e. Obama) and the executive branch would spend this money however it/he see’s fit without DISCLOSURE. By earmarking and then voting against the bill Ron represents his constituents and at the same time is making the money TRANSPARENT.
AGAIN…If those bills are NOT earmarked, the money is still SPENT (with NO transparency by the executive branch). By earmarking the bills you are making the money TRANSPARENT.
Ron Paul has NEVER voted for an earmark.
Cutting the number of earmarks does NOT cut spending. Earmarks account for roughly 1% of federal spending FYI.
It makes sense to earmark the alloted funds and KEEP transparency vs NOT earmark and still spend the

It never fully landed but must have been scoping out possible set-down sites.
I am amazed (with the current state of world affairs) that Chicago was selected. It is mighty dense downtown and therefore harder to cover all bases.

One difference between us is that I don’t care what your political views are. You have the right to them and I respect your choice, but to bash others for their own views is disrespectful and comes off as ignorant (a stereotype that the military should be trying to fix). There are constructive discussions and debates, but you just insult people and don’t back anything up with facts. I provided links so that maybe you could have some facts to debate with. Instead, you went the easy route and just started shaking your fists again. Childish.
I have worked hard to give my best in the military, and that also involves trying to right the wrongs that are becoming rampant in it. We haven’t won a decisive military victory since 1945. It seems like we need to question the obsolete standards and traditions and make new, effective ones. We need to adapt (which involves more than just raising the standards and rewriting a few Field Manuals) We need to stand for our principles. After taking it upon myself to study our history and the Constitution, I would not deploy to any current combat zone if ordered. It would be an unlawful order since we never declared war. It isn’t easy, but it is the right choice. What good are the those Core values that we have to repeat over and over if we aren’t even willing to live up to them? Are we only supposed to use them when it’s convenient?
Unless you cite sources and become more respectful, you are a waste of time.

Military operations are happening around you all the time, whither in small town USA or a big city…There is NO conspiracy.
You want a well trained military? You want a military that kicks azz & takes names? You want our military to be able to put a warhead on a our enemy’s foreheads, kick in doors and put rounds in some douchbags face? Well then, this is the kind of training that makes it possible. While I was deployed to the Miami area from Bragg for the Mariel Boat Lift we had the Liberty City riots spring up around our hotel because of the Arthur McDuffy death trial verdict. I was on a 12 hour day shift at the Krome Ave sites, but we stood on the 6th floor balcony watching all of the fires. Went on for several days. The riots got so bad that we had to send our Jeeps back to Bragg, and sit low in school buses for transportation to the sites. We active duty troops were in the same uniform as the Florida National Guard who were working the riots. The buses remained untouched, but two of the rental cars that our BN had took a few rounds. Fortunately nobody was hurt. After the pre-arrest stir up for Zimmerman’s blood, they will certainly need to be prepared for the possibility of his acquittal.
