Why Won’t The Department of Justice Appoint a Special Prosecutor for National Security Leaks?

A recent string of leaks from the White House involving highly classified, highly sensitive material regarding United States foreign policy has led to outrage on the part of the public and the press, as well as dueling accusations between members of Congress and the administration.
The most notable leaks thus far were both sent to the New York Times, and included information regarding a “secret kill list” maintained by the White House, and also information that revealed that the administration had secretly launched cyber-attacks against Iran’s nuclear facilities. So dangerous and sensitive are the leaks that the FBI has been called in to investigate the situation. This move, however, has not stopped a steady stream of bipartisan condemnation from members of Congress, where everyone from Republican Saxby Chambliss of Georgia to Democrat Dianne Feinstein of California have aggressively condemned the leaks and called for the head of whoever is responsible.
Yet mysteriously, the Obama Department of Justice seems to be less than happy with the idea of aggressively prosecuting this problem. At least, judging by what Deputy Attorney General James Cole said a hearing today, that seems to be the takeaway, since Cole has preemptively ruled out bringing in a special prosecutor to investigate. UPI reports:
During Deputy U.S. Attorney General James Cole’s appearance Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee on another matter, Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, asked him if a special prosecutor should be appointed to investigate a recent series of leaks that possibly emanated from the White House, Roll Call reported.
“I don’t believe that it would be necessary in this case, no,” Cole responded.
The deputy attorney general said, however, it is illegal for a government employee to provide classified information to reporters.
“It troubles me that anybody who has classified information, and lawfully has it, would then disclose it in violation of their duties to keep that classified information secret,” Cole said.

As you can see from the following video, Cornyn was incredulous at this apparently blase response:
There has been, to date, no explanation for why this decision was made. In fact, considering that Deputy Attorney General Cole himself acknowledged that leaks of this kind are criminal acts, it seems common sensical for a Special Prosecutor to be brought in, or at least for the Department of Justice to investigate. However, Cole declined to say whether the Department of Justice would be involved at all. It’s possible that this springs from an earnest desire not to step on the toes of other organizations, like the FBI, but given that the Justice Department is the highest legal authority in the Executive Branch, it still should raise a few eyebrows.

I am sorry, but if you have not had military service and been at least prepared to die for our country and people, you are not qualified to lead our country as president because your decisions and motivations will always be suspect. I get the gut feeling that our president may very well be a sociopath or psychopath. He exhibits the majority of of the associated “qualities”; 16 of 18 to be exact. Sociopaths and psychopaths share the same common traits but differ mainly in that a sociopath have minimal to no control of their impulsive nature whereas a psychopath is in control and chooses complex schemes to achieve their goals. Yep. Got a got feeling. Don’t take my word for it: Judge for yourself.
You only need to observe his actions. Or in today’s example, inaction:
You notice Obama has not officially acknowledged the D-Day invasion today, nor in the past, so you ask yourself “Does the president not appreciate the significant sacrifice of our warriors and allies on D-Day?”
It may not be out of intentional disrespect. It strongly suggests he has no capacity for empathy. No feeling one way or the other, basically indifference. Basically and emotional flat-line.
God help us all.

The media would dwell on this single story up until the final votes are counted and then it would die. The investigation would then be very transparent. On the other hand, if the Democrats are implicated……you get the picture.
Either way, I do not care about party affiliation and I can only speak for myself: I want heads. Every last one of them, not just a scapegoat that played a minor part. Remember what happened to the Rosenberg couple?
Of secondary concern, but of equal importance is the abuse of the president’s office with the kill list. I want Al Queda destroyed too, but I would not use drones for politically motivated expediency if that was the main motivating factor. Yes drones should be used, but used correctly with the tactical objective, rules of engagement, risk to non-combatants assessed and minimized, and the law of war.
What I really want to know is which idiot released the intel on the Pakistani doctor? When they are identified, we would trade him to Pakistan for the doctor and his family, if I had my way. I talk brave from the keyboard, but I paid my dues in combat and no longer do I tolerate or forgive intentional & criminal acts that endanger the mission and lives of our warriors. Because of this, our mission is more difficult and there will most likely be additional bloodshed. EXPOSE AND OUT THEM NOW!!!!!!

Strong character forged by unwavering belief and commitment to our nation and people and a powerfully humble and unapologetic belief in God. Combine that with a record of successful ethical leadership and superior results in both military service and post military career. They do not lie because they have nothing to hide and understand the honor and value of truth, no matter how difficult. This is the perfect candidate in my opinion.
Does this person exist or has one ever existed? Nope. I just want a president with passing marks in each category as a minimum. I am voting for Romney, but my gut feeling is he is severely lacking. I sure hope he proves me wrong and delivers what this nation deserves and should reasonably demand from the leader of the free world. A leader must love God and those he serves and show it.
I am afraid many in this country have a twisted definition of what a leader should BE. Twisted by a corrupt definition of social justice, human life, the family, and the role of government.
A strong, qualified leader by MY definition, would initially inspire both intense respect and intense hate. As they achieve superior results over time, the haters that have half a brain will at least respect him, and most likely, won over as the truth becomes undeniable. Strong faith in God and being a powerful world leader is not a chance event, but the hand of God in action.

I have no doubt there are all kinds of national secrets that are being leaked to our other enemies…..betrayers all. Holder is there for a purpose – protect regime from prosecution so they can accomplish their goals of takeover – act as firewall for Obama/Jarrett – since he knows their secrets/crimes.

They’re doing everything they can to take over the military and get all those who do care to leave on their own, if not, they’ll be accused of something to discharge them.
We do, however, have a group of veterans, and law enforcement who care called Oath Keepers, and another called Veteran Defenders of America. They do care, but don’t have the Constitutional Authority to do anything.
