WikiLeaks Founder Walks Out on CNN Interviewer

While WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange has made a name for himself by putting members and operations of the U.S. military under the public’s microscope, don’t expect him to shed light on his own personal trappings.

During an interview with CNN, the interviewer presses him to discuss rape and sexual molestation charges previously brought against him in Sweden, Assange abruptly ends the interview and walks off camera:

“It’s completely disgusting,” he remarks to the interviewer. “I‘m going to walk if you’re going to contaminate us revealing the deaths of 104,000 people with attacks against my person.”

According to reports, once the Swedish charges were filed, Assange told a Swedish tabloid he believed the U.S. Department of Defense was behind them.  “We have been warned that the Pentagon, for example, is thinking of deploying dirty tricks to ruin us. And I have also been warned about sex traps,” he said.  Later it was revealed that the “dirty tricks” had been hatched by a couple of Swedish Wiki fans.

Now, now, Vunks, take a deep breath. That’s right…… let it out slowly. Tell the bartender at the country club there to bring you a soothing brandy. Now let’s get one thing straight. It’s not your party anymore. It belongs to us hard working middle class folks now. You want to call us neo-cons, fine. Funny, though, I’ve only heard liberal Democrats use this term. Any way, our men in the middlle east are doing the best they can in that situation and yes, mistakes are going to be made. IT’S A WAR. And we have these crazy rules of engagement where at least we try to avoid collateral damage. What other country would do that? This jerk at WikiLeaks is trying to insinuate we’re just a bunch of warmongering criminals.

“If you knew how most of us felt about the war the kid glove tactics we have used over in Afghanistan and wonder why we are there for a decade? No night or surprise attacks, must let the enemy know in advance on search’s, men must search men and women search women. US soldiers may not fire on enemy unless the enemy is preparing to fire first. US forces may not engage enemy forces if civilians are present. US troops may fire on an insurgent if caught planting IED’s but not if the insurgent is leaving an area where explosives have been laid. In theory an insurgent can fire on ally forces set his weapon down and walk away and there‘s not a single thing you can do about it so I could careless about this story its being used and assange admits he’s using it for political gains”
these rules are what our men and women are fighting under and yea war sucks and its terrible but the enemy we are facing see’s no peaceful ends so we fight until they are defeated. To ignore them would be at our demise. Again contra is just another soros plant you can see his liberalism boiling up to the surface. Ask this truther about 9/11…how about who shot jfk? I bet he thinks Bush lied too despite the reports that the US were given were the same reports the rest of the world were given and many of our allies were in agreement that sadam having a WMD we knew he would use it…I guess you forget he did attack kuwait, Iran and gassed the Kurds….but you know he was a nice enough guy sadam..I mean when he wasn’t having women raped and mass murders I guess the blood bath was just a sunday for sadam…but yea lets keep defending these murderers and rapist its what what the left prefer.

I.ve been fighting for over 30 years alongside Ron Paul when being a strict Constitutionalist was dangerous Ron, is strongly against NeoCon police the world, nation building, continious wars. The early Tea Party Movement started by Ron Paul was overwhelmingly noninterventionist. It has sadly been infiltrated by warmongering NeoCons. Ask Glenn whether he supports Ron Paul’s foreign/military policy vs the NeoCons. When you find out that Glenn likes Ron Paul, perhaps you need to change or LEAVE and go to Cheney’s blog. Or perhaps better The Weekly Standrads BLOG. You don’t belong here. You are the misfit, not me.

Once again, warmongering thirst for blood ratrher than noninterventionism. I hope that IF America falls economically because of the bleeding our precious resources in Iraq, that you get your deserved reward. God help we true Tea Party people to retake this great liberty movement.

And regarding the Wikileaks founder, if this man lived back in 1943 and revealed the secrets of German war crimes, the Nazis wouldve been mad. I just want people to realize an injustice anywhere is an injustice EVERYWHERE, and be aware of your own double standards.

You have to realize that the left liberal media will corrupt anything or anyone. The interview was about a leak and not about his personal life. That is a matter CNN (or anyone else) should address in a separate interview. Have you heard of “bait and switch”? Typical for progressives….
You or I may find his personal life unethical or immoral, but then ask for an interview on that!!!!!!

The scary thing about this isn’t wether or not he can dish it/take it. What he revealed was how our military was behaving, what they were doing that most anyone can say is morally wrong. I served in the military, and was even serving during Sept. 11th. The video he released of our servicemen knowingly opening fire on civilians and children is something that we as Americans should be aware of and that these men should be brought to trial for war crimes. It makes me sick as a veteran when a few bad apples give the rest of us a bad name. It also makes me sick when they try to cover up such behavior in the name of national security. I don’t know the man personally, but I agree with what he did releasing these videos and documents so we can purge our military of blood thirsty child killing murderers. They have no honor.

Can you imagine the increase in viewers if she pulled out a tazer and zapped this little coward?
Dwayne Dog Chapman comes in and twists him into a pretzel with cuffs.
Then he can face a firing squad with the traitor panzy we already have in jail.

My respect for him went many fold. Imagine if Christine O, Glenn, etc warned the interviewer to stick to the agreed upon topis(s) of the interview or WALK out. She continued with her talking pints I’m sure she was ORDERED to do by her boss. Notice she HAD to ask these questions? That should tell you what the true agenda of the interview was.. a pure smear.

I made the mistake of NOT doing this in a newspaper interview when I ran for NC Governor in 2000 on the Reform Partry ticket. The reporter came to my office at UNCP and started talking the internal conflict in the NCRP. I asked to see his talking point list. There was nothing on it that in anyway addressed where I stood on the issues. This angered me greatly, I lost my cool, but I went on with the interview.. The newspaper article’s headline was “SCHELL GOES RANTING ON.” IT IS SIMPLY A HIT PIECE ON ME.

I think he is a hero that is being personally attacked by the PTB. To stand up against the Pentagon and other Line Officers who have covered up with “secret” documents so that the American won’t know is atrocious. These documents released show the duplicity and lies that the American people have been told about the truth of what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Open your eyes. We’ve been there almost 10 years and have spent/wasted money and precious blood of America’s best young people to the point that the America economy is on the brink of collapse. $9 billion was lost in Iraq. No one went to jail.

you know I thought there was always something weird about Contrarianthinker that just screams “Marxist” and every time he talks I find it to be disgusting liberal trash. If you knew how most of us felt about the war the kid glove tactics we have used over in Afghanistan and wonder why we are there for a decade? No night or surprise attacks, must let the enemy know in advance on search’s, men must search men and women search women. US soldiers may not fire on enemy unless the enemy is preparing to fire first. US forces may not engage enemy forces if civilians are present. US troops may fire on an insurgent if caught planting IED’s but not if the insurgent is leaving an area where explosives have been laid. In theory an insurgent can fire on ally forces set his weapon down and walk away and there‘s not a single thing you can do about it so I could careless about this story its being used and assange admits he’s using it for political gains….yea keep feeding morons like him I could careless what he showed up to the interview for they should call him out for it and no you shouldn’t be handed a talking points when you sit down a journalist should have the balls to ask you tough straight questions end of story.

@ Snowleopard–if he likes to stay in the shadows and that’s his choice, then he shouldn’t be doing interviews on CNN. He knows reporters don’t shy away from asking the difficult stuff (unless you’re Obama), after all, they published his disgusting leaked reports, so why did he think they would handle him with kid gloves? Did he really think they wouldn’t be asking those questions, that he is so special that he is exempt? Does every American serviceman whose life is potentially put at risk because of what he did have the right to “walk off” in disgust because of it? No, they have to keep on putting their lives on the line. Bottom line is, if he wants to be private, as you suggest, then he should remain private and live a normal life like the rest of us, rather than trying to get famous by putting other people’s lives at risk and going on CNN.

I was in the USAF during the VietNam WQar. So the same thing in spades. I hAD PLANNED TO planned to make the USAF my career but when I saqw how handcuffed our rave warriors were I goy out after 4 years. War should only be a last resort but once we enter, it is much more merciful to the enemy to use full force to bring them to the table.
