WikiLeaks: U.S. Gov‘t ’Secretly Backed’ Egyptian Dissidents Plotting Regime Change

Secret U.S. diplomatic dispatches released by the WikiLeaks website seem to suggest that the American Embassy in Cairo was quietly aiding young Egyptian political dissidents who were plotting to overthrow President Hosni Mubarak and install a democratic government in 2011, the UK’s Telegraph is reporting.

According to the Telegraph, American embassy officials helped at least one young dissident attend a U.S.-sponsored summit for political activists in New York while simultaneously working to keep his identity secret from Egyptian state police. Upon his return to Cairo in December 2008, the activist reportedly told American diplomats that an alliance of opposition groups planned to overthrow Mubarack before the country’s 2011 national elections.

In addition, diplomatic cables published by WikiLeaks show American officials pressuring the Egyptian government to release other dissidents who had been detained by police.

The US government has previously been a supporter of Mr Mubarak’s regime. But the leaked documents show the extent to which America was offering support to pro-democracy activists in Egypt while publicly praising Mr Mubarak as an important ally in the Middle East.

In a secret diplomatic dispatch, sent on December 30 2008, Margaret Scobey, the US Ambassador to Cairo, recorded that opposition groups had allegedly drawn up secret plans for “regime change” to take place before elections, scheduled for September this year.

The memo, which Ambassador Scobey sent to the US Secretary of State in Washington DC, was marked “confidential” and headed: “April 6 activist on his US visit and regime change in Egypt.”

It said the activist claimed “several opposition forces” had “agreed to support an unwritten plan for a transition to a parliamentary democracy, involving a weakened presidency and an empowered prime minister and parliament, before the scheduled 2011 presidential elections”. The embassy’s source said the plan was “so sensitive it cannot be written down”.

Ambassador Scobey questioned whether such an “unrealistic” plot could work, or ever even existed. However, the documents showed that the activist had been approached by US diplomats and received extensive support for his pro-democracy campaign from officials in Washington. The embassy helped the campaigner attend a “summit” for youth activists in New York, which was organised by the US State Department.

Cairo embassy officials warned Washington that the activist’s identity must be kept secret because he could face “retribution” when he returned to Egypt. He had already allegedly been tortured for three days by Egyptian state security after he was arrested for taking part in a protest some years earlier. …

The documents released by WikiLeaks reveal US Embassy officials were in regular contact with the activist throughout 2008 and 2009, considering him one of their most reliable sources for information about human rights abuses.

All this “Obama’s a Muslim” crap is still kicking around?

He’s an atheist, or agnostic at best. It’s written all over him. The only way he could embrace “Christianity” was after it was warped into a racial tool. Just like every other organization he supports. It’s all about building that coalition of power, remember? He’ll subscribe to anything he can wield as a weapon.

This is what globalists do. Almost all of them are atheists. It may look like they want to “reach out” to the Muslim world, but they are just using them to destabilize the West. Look at England! Look what “outreach” has done! They imported a militant, anti-Western population and used them as a pretext to locking down the country. There was no responsibility in the process. Just “please don’t hate us, we aren’t racist… here, come to our cities!” along with social programs and propaganda campaigns. They played on White guilt. There was no real outreach (as pathetic as it would have been anyway) but rather the shaping of wedges and driving them into society. As a result, there were bombings and now there’s a biometric camera every 10 feet and people are treated like prisoners.

They use race, class, religion, sex, environmentalism- you name it- to fracture society. None of the globalists are Muslim supporters. They are simply using them, and your fear of them. England was the trial run of a social experiment and now they are bringing it here, only tailored for American society. Black & White racism isn’t such a big problem in Western Europe, so they relied almost exclusively on Muslims. Over here, they are doing it with Mexican illegals as well as Muslim extremists, atheists, gays, Blacks, and anyone else they can make feel “oppressed by conservatism” in order to forge another political sledge hammer with. And conservatives take the bait all too often.

There is no global Muslim conspiracy. Not one that can be realized, in any case. Just a fantasy being humored for the time being, while it is used as a tool to destabilize the planet. Muslims are pawns who will face the same wall we are up against in the end. Gays are pawns. Blacks are pawns. Illegals are pawns. Conservatives are pawns. We all are. We’re being played left and right, by both sides. Only in this game, it seems the back rows of both sides are gray, not black or white. There are just black pawns, white pawns, and their gray rulers. There may be some black or white rooks or bishops, but those are expendable in certain situations… it’s all about setting up your final moves. Most of the higher-ups are gray.

Ditch the Islamophobia. Stop fearing Islam and start fearing the fact that your own leadership is using it as a weapon. They actively import it, and fan the flames. We’re all being pitted against one another. The goal is to destabilize society to the point of failure (socially and financially), so we beg for someone to step in and “fix” it. This is old news… ancient tactics. The real enemies are the elites in our governments, not the morons they dredge up to act on their behalf (whether through direction or allowance). They could easily be dealt with by securing (not closing) borders. Profiling. Asking questions. Using common sense. But instead, they are allowed onto planes, and there are signs at the borders warning Americans to stay away.

We’re all run by domestic terrorists. People with real power, and the ability to use it. The stinky ones in caves are secondary. Every Islamophobic comment you make is just another rivet in the machine. STOP IT. Islam is here. It is big. Most of it is peaceful. Deal with it. I don’t agree with it, but that goes for a lot of things. It’s NOT top priority. That would be cleaning up the traitors within our governments. Once they are gone, the crazies of the world will die out. They already are! People naturally become Westernized, as humans naturally love freedom.

    Terrorism ≠ Islam

    Treason > Islam

We have to get our priorities in order. We have no control over a religion, or what other countries do. Our priorities are our governments. We clean them up first. They are the ones opening us up for attack!

This is how our country appears evil to the rest of the world. We should NOT interfere with any other Nations internal conflicts. We should treat every nation equally, and not choose sides. We should only involve ourselves if two different nations are in conflict, and we should not choose sides when in negotiations. While I am a supporter of Isreal, we should not take Isreals side in any negotiations. If it is true that this administration has taken sides in Egypt, all participants that has chosen or supported a side should be removed from their post. We should not interfere with Egypts Internal issues. We will work with the Nation of Egypt no matter who is in charge, but we shall not take sides and give our enemies ammunition to hate us.

Training activist! For sure! That’s the aim of this regime as spelled out by Frances Fox Piven and others. They are hoping to provide examples (Greece, Tunisia, now Egypt) for the left wing in this country to copy and begin the “ground up” assualt. Remember ground up, top down, and us in the middle looking for the government (top) to protect us which they will at the price of our liberties forever. It’s real and we must stop it in 2012.

Revolution in Tunisia, Lebanon, and now Egypt. What countries are next? Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria, and Kuwait? And stepping in is hamais, the muslim bortherhood, and as always Iran will be involved. Is it possible that they will all end up being united under a single theocracy? Should that happen how is that going to affect us? How will food get delivered to the grocery stores if there is no gas? How will people get to work? The environmentalists have seen to it that drilling for oil in the United States or off shore has for all intents and purposes stopped. How long has it been since the last Nuclear power plant been brought on line? Everyone should be very concerned about what is going on in the Middle East and what the United States Government is or isn’t doing. Could be some tough times ahead.

Obama wants the ‘Internet Kill Switch’ so that when the economic riots of unrest occur in the United States, all of which Obama is hastening with his deplorable handling of the country’s finances and his increased spending rate in the $ Trillions of dollars, on God knows what. When your President is out to destroy the country he‘s supposed to govern and shows no concern for it’s fiscal health, you know you have a promising dictator just waiting for an opportunity to spring into taking over with a full and total control. Obama talks up a good game, but he’s lied so often that his promises are hard to believe, no matter what he may have to say.
He will pretend to protect your rights to a free and open internet, while all the while preparing ands planning for his government to take it over, to spy on its people, and close it down whenever it suits their purpose. You can’t have both. Either he‘s an outright liar or he’s insulting you, because his administration has their eyes on controlling the internet right now, and they haven’t given up on their plans to take it over. So don’t be conned by this smooth talker, look into what they are trying to do with the internet and it’s very frightening the way they intend to use it. Once they take it over, the only other option, will be like Egypt to take it to the streets.

How much do you want to bet that the “activist” attended “community organizing” meetings?

I’m guessing that this is all about class warfare, rather than about individual liberty.

Cairo, Obama is not your friend, and neither are the community organizing groups that your “activist” attended. They don’t want to set you free, but to set up a “dictatorship of the proletariat”, which will take away your property rights.

You don’t want Socialism or Communism, Cairo, because Communism will give rise to freedom fighters, which will give rise to oppressive governments, which will give rise to riots, then Marxism, then Communism – rinse, lather, repeat.

Obama is not your answer. The Muslim Brotherhood is not your answer. A free market Capitalist system has always been the best form of economy because it allows for the natural incentive to produce wealth for oneself, using the most cost effective methods – all without violating individual rights; The only reason it seems to have not worked in America, is because the Marxists here have been slowly turning it FROM a free market Capitalist system into a more Socialist system.

The only thing this effects with us is the Suez canal and oil prices which gives us more of a reason to cut all these idiots off in the Middle East and pump our own oil until we find something to replace it in the future. If we would wise up and quit letting people from the Middle East into Western nations they wouldn’t be a problem. Kind of hard to be a threat when they can’t get to you. Good luck convincing the diversity worshipers in the West though, I‘m sure they’ll open the flood gates for so called “refugees” and “asylum seekers.” Its all about containment. Events are unfolding fast not even including this one. There is almost no time to recognize the ramifications of the last situation before another is upon us. No time to get perspective! NWO wants to this to happen and I’ll just bet Obama is eventually going to be the front man in the end. Kissinger said as much due to his unprecedented popularity around the world…except for here. But they’ll deal with us racists who oppose him thats next.

But first, the prices of everything are going higher and money is to be made and lost. Once they get their fill at the top, the plug will get pulled on the markets draining any vestiges of the old world system so the new structure can emerge. Can’t do this with to much stability in the world right now, things must get worse and I am on record for a bumpy year in 2011 and that our dear leader would either be known as the first unofficial president of the world or he would be the first president of the new world order.

First like you said though, one more block has to be checked and thats WWIII. We may not survive it. The NWO may still be enacted but not under US leadership is my prediction for the alternative outcome.

I am not suprised, but those that partner with those that want instead of those that earn will allways fail in the end. The trick will be surviving long enough to see their plans fall apart. Those that work for it will allways defeat those that refuse to work for it. No sarcasm from Czar Kasim this time.

BHO and his appointed ones, and those that have been quietly working behind the scenes, want what has been happening all over the world, and now Egypt, to happen here.

Spooky Dude stirring the pot of discontent and now with Wikileaks coming out with this gem (true? maybe or maybe not) we appear to be encouraging the overthrow of Egypt’s government. Who, except maybe Iran, will trust us? Hillary, what do you have to say about this?

So…Obama undercuts true reformers like the green movement in Iran…but he supports islamo-fascists trying to overthrow the government of Egypt. Can you imagine if Obama had total power…he would be a complete despot like stalin.

Besides the MB, Caroline Glick reports “there is the Kifaya movement. The group sprang onto the international radar screen in 2004 when it demanded open presidential elections and called on Mubarak not to run for a fifth term. As a group of intellectuals claiming to support liberal, democratic norms, Kifaya has been upheld as a model of what the future of Egypt could look like if liberal forces are given the freedom to lead.

But Kifaya’s roots and basic ideology are not liberal. They are anti-Semitic and anti-American. Kifaya was formed as a protest movement against Israel with the start of the Palestinian terror war in 2000. It gained force in March 2003 when it organized massive protests against the US-led invasion of Iraq. In 2006 its campaign to get a million Egyptians to sign a petition demanding the abrogation of Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel received international attention. ”

The hope for Egypt and other “Islamic” countries is that they remember their true history. Egypt was one of the first Christian countries before Islam invaded.

This historic interview on Israel National Radio shines light on the Pre-Abrahamic history of the “Middle-East” and exposes Islam for the reconstituted Baal worship under the guise of a pseudo-monotheistic “religion” that it is.

Dave. This is what I felt was happening and posted earlier today. This is a world wide take over and bringing the US down is part of this plot. It is far bigger than we have antisipated. The new leader of Egypt is a part of the progressives plan and you can bet soros has blood on his hands along with our president.

SOTHERNLOYALTY….you answered most of your own questions. Containment is not the issue when we have a weak President prostrating himself to every world leader. He is weak which is creating this vacuum of power. This will spread faster than a firestorm and we could have worldwide anarchy by the end of next week. Obama still has all off shore drilling banned. He is not allowing us to use the rigs already in place let alone our rich oil fields being opened to be drilled. How to you feel about $10 a gallon? WW II was created with a similar climate. We have an administration that is fanning the flames this time around. WW III has already begun.

I love how our govt is always intervening in foreign affairs. Then you wonder why countries don’t like us? Ahhh the days of non-intervention would be nice and refreshing.

On a side note: I do not care if individuals or organizations want to intervene, but a govt with OUR money shouldn’t be.

The United States Government, with President Obama in charge, is supporting those who would have a Democracy in Egypt? Is he actually supoorting a One World Government? This is yet another ploy. Don‘t be fooled by President Obama’s or Hilary Clinton’s statements. They fully support bringing Egypt in the fold of countries whose goals is domination. Don‘t believe Obama’s lies!

Good, we should have backed the toppling of a dictator, as a matter of public policy. While I don’t believe in sending our own men to die for the dreams of others, I do believe that we should never support dictators and should always stand against them. So yeah, good.
