A chaotic scene broke out Friday as dozens of soccer fans attacked stadium staff following Russia’s 4-1 blowout win against the Czech Republic in the Euro 2012 championships.

Amateur footage posted to YouTube shows fans attacking men in fluorescent shirts who appear to be stadium employees. One staff member is repeatedly punched in the face as he tries to escape; another ends up motionless on the ground before he is rescued by colleagues and helped to his feet.

Eurosports.com:

Local police confirmed that the violence was caused by Russian-speaking supporters.

Police spokesman Mariusz Sokolowski said: “I can confirm that this happened at the stadium.

“The attackers were from the group of Russian language fans. We are trying to identify them. Police have the security footage from the stadium, we are looking into it.”

When asked why the police did not step in to assist the stadium staff at the time, Sokolowski said: “It was at the stadium. We react when security and steward at the stadium cannot handle things. In this case they fast took control at the situation.”

According to Eurosport’s Polish office, four members of stadium staff were taken to hospital but all were released later that evening.

Sports riots, just as stupid as decorating your basement in your favorite teams colors or using the pronoun “we” when referring to your favorite team.

Soccer is a game for the low brow. While NFL football may be much more violent it doesn’t spill over into the stands every game with fans tackling each other and beating up the stadium staff.

And here the hypocritical anti-American left wingers claim on how violent Americans are while they pretend that other countries don’t have their fair share of violence (especially their beloved Western European countries).

its not the game that makes them violent, its the culture that the game is played in. Ever wonder why there are never any riots in the U.S.? Soccer matches here are actually very enjoyable, the fans are fantastic and the players have dignity and good sportsmanship. Funny how that changes when you hope over to the UK or take a trip south to our neighbor Mexico…

That’s just great. Everyone gets to attack opposing teams coaches, and players except us here in America. Another reason we are falling behind Europe

I have never understood ‘extreme’ sports fans. This happens even in the USA. When I went to school in Tucson, and the Wildcats won a championship game, the students rioted, overturned cars and set them on fire. Why? Be happy they won, it is just a game! The really sad part of this Russian video (and similar stories here in the USA) is the guy who is beaten down, on the ground. Only one person stopped to help him, and he is clearly injured. When did we stop caring about our fellow human beings?

    Answer:
    1. Hoickey is a more violent sport. Part of the game.
    2. Soccer fans are maybe not more stupid, but cetainly more partisan, and certaily more violent. Look at the many, many stadium fights that break out.

Amen to Psalm 109.8, and the US out of the UN / UN out of the US.

This is what the OWS-mentallity looks like. Don’t selebrate….just meyhem, destroy and maybe even kill “with joy”. This is what typical brownshirts are taught…when they have fun, they doo the same thing as normal progressive-”work for the party.

Its not looking good for the Polish-Russian game on Tuesday. I guess the Poles will need to call in the extra force to quell the riots after the game.

Naaah! Siberria is much better than this! They don’t beleive in “kill thy neighbor”. Remember, Siberia WAS the prizzon for Russia/USSR political prizzoners. This place [really] evolved into it’s own(be it very-cold!) city. and it is isolated, and has most of all it’s needs right there.
